I went to the State Fair today! I loved the ride at what was it? I think 3:50? Well its called Zero Gravity. It was really cool.

@miguel2wwe Hi. The playback is 24 fps. Some sequences, like the carousel at the beginning, were recorded with the camera shooting every 1/2 second (using a trick). Other sequences were every one or two seconds. The swans at the end might have been every 5 seconds, and the extended daylight to dusk midway sequence was probably every 3 seconds. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. I have just ordered a D3s AND a timer remote control shutter (TR-B )... how would the latter help if there is already an intervalometer in the D3s menu? Thanks in advance for your thoughts

Hi. The timer would help to reduce camera shake at the very least. On the intervalometer, I'm not sure. Unless it can record at intervals faster than 1 second per exposure or record more than 999 exposures per time lapse - it'll be redundant to what the camera can do already.
