Did you mix this with your OWN reverb or is this the default reverb on the samples? because I was listening to this on headphones in my class and I have thought the strings were IN THE ROOM with me!! almost thought my headphones were unplugged and might have interrupted the class hahaha
@shortbusheros4 Thank you for listening to my music and for your commend! It's a combination of kontakt's convolution reverb and cubase's native reverb.
@aguilaix I don't have a download page yet, but i'm planning to activate the download button on my soundcloud page once I check the status on copyright.
@CVAL09 your music is great but i was talking about kontakt4 and samples... any way, I'd like to enjoy with more of your music!, keep on working man...
so wierd when i buy kontakt they just added lot of vibrato on solo instrument then i just shocked. what i must do for clear and little vibrato sound? pls :)
I haven't checked the rest of Native Instruments pianos since I bought the East West's Complete Composer's collection and Ministry Of Rock a few months ago which includes the QL Pianos that sound really goog. Although I'm very tempted to buy Tonehammer's Montclarion Hall Piano. I think they've done a very good job, sounds very realistic.
By the way I've checked your channel. You're an excellent guitarist and I liked your compositions very much!
If you have kontakt 4 and want a great replication of ARP's quadra synth and ARP's 1970's analogue sequencer then please go to my channel and play the virtual quadra video-its available from my site for cheap as chips.Massive Kontakt instrument and library.
@saulijml I had the same problem when I first tried the crossfade script. You must clear the "Dynamic key switches" script from the script editor (load an empty preset from the factory presets and replace it) and load the crossfade script in a slot after the "Options" and "Instrument" scripts.
Sadly, the pianos are not good enough in Kontakt. The sound is kind of diffuse, not clear enough and it lacks limpidity if one can call it this way. Just listen to this piece and turn on a professionally recorded piano piece for comparison. I own Kontakt, but I have to look for some other pianos. Still, many other instruments sound great - orchestral trumpet, trombone, viola, cello, drum kits, orchestral percussion and many more
@dhfjal I have to agree with you. The pianos in Kontakt sound very dull. The difference however between "a professionally recorded piano piece" and my piece is that I'm not a professional in audio editing so this not a piece that demonstrates the final result of the sounds after porfessional processing just a basic idea of how the instruments sound. Don't compare a professionally recorded piece or vst demo with some low quality mp3 that some random dude like me posted on youtube.
@CVAL09 Ok but say I compose a piano piece made up of five sounds and I want to record it. I don't really see, why the piece created using pno from Kontakt has to sound that much poorer than one recorded in an average studio. I believe they use top quality microphones and sound processors to make the samples. So why shouldn't one expect it to sound more professional? It seems easy to make a virtual piano, you just have to record a few velocity layers as opposed to for instance a viola
@dhfjal I'm glad that you liked it, the composition is mine. The truth is I don't realy understand why some sounds in Kontakt (not only the pianos) sound poor, maybe their samples are indeed poor. Maybe this is why the leading vst developers hire top sound engineers to create their libraries.
@dhfjal A piece recorder in a studio, with a real piano I asume, will be far more superior in quality then any vst instrument out there! A real acoustic instrument has a "body" in its sound that is realy difficult to capture and reproduce in a vst if not impossible, also the harmonics that the instrument produces while the player changes keys (or strings in stringed instruments) or pressing the sustain pedal it will be also extremely difficult to capture

what effects did you use on the Kontakt piano?
mickomoo 1 year ago
Well i'm a rock/metal guitar player with very open ears and great appreciation for orchestral music especially the strings.
So without being a sonic Nazi i'm gonna say this sounds pretty damn good both on the music side and the production side.
I like my recordings with a little impurity.
Also doesn't Native offer piano add ons, would these satisfy the the complaints?

How did you manage to use the crossfade script with the orchestral bank?
With everything else I've tried it seems to work, but not with the K4 orchestral bank.

@dhfjal You can make the pianos a lot better by adding some effects to them, but you would need a DAW like Logic or Live.
