Oooooh I was so excited thinking this was for real. Then I saw the firemen standing IN the tunnel. What also gave it away was the firemen were attractive slender and fit looking. Everyone knows motorsport firemen/marshals are issued with small marques instead of overalls, they're huge! Still enjoyed it :)

Think of Matchbox for example. They don't create any downforce at all and are still able to drive trough loops. ;)

This isn't really "driving upside down", it's a corkscrew (sideways loop while moving forward). At no point is the car going parallell with the tunnel roof without sideways motion.

A F1 car can drive upside down indefinetly above 160-180km/h because of the huge downforce and low weight.

at the right speed, that can be done with any car. even with my old DACIA 1310 if it got enough speed. That doesn't prove any high down force that this car is able to put on the road. It's the G-force that kept the car around the tunnel. Pay more attention. btw: the engine has to be modified in order to keep running upside down. Cheers!

This is a commercial and they didnt actually do this, far to dangerous to try in real life because the handling of the car must be impecable in order to keep traction coming out of the loop, true, this is possible, but even with this car it would be extremely difficult.

I'm in the CGI/Fake camp. The SLS weighs 3600 lbs. Modern F1 cars produce 3000 lbs of downforce give or take 100 lbs with setup. No way in hell an SLS can generate as much downforce as a modern F1 let alone 600+ lbs MORE. An F1 car could feasibly pull this trick off as they weigh just over 600 kilos with driver (~1300lbs), but not a road car. Despite the myth that race cars have done this, from everything I've searched thats not YET true.

The problem with testing is finding a test facility where you can speed up to 200, and then without slowing down drive up the wall and stay there...
