I was sent here by a Registax expert from Twitter. Brilliant to see a really useful tutorial with no self-glorifying gumph. Taught me more than loads of other vids.
nice one scott, ive just got into astro photography and dowloaded this programme, its a lot better watching you do it then reading about it so thanks again.
Just a couple of comments - I didn't see where you went through the images and grabbed the best capture. The first one is not always the best and there is a final tab that you can use to change some of the images too, that you might want to explore. The other thing is that you made an assumption in here that everyone knows how to use Adobe Photoshop. Not everyone uses that program some use others such as Imagees Plus for astrophotos.
Excellent job and it clarified things for me....just started using registax like you this past week and it helps alot. thanx for the vid and keep them coming!!!
Nice video. Some people have been using Virtual Dub to extract video stills for Registax. I guess you can go through those stills with Windows and just delete ones that are blurry or out of focus, etc.
I'm just starting with astroimaging, wondering on how to make my images better/sharper. I bumped into registax on a few sites, but I honestly didn't have a clue how to use the darn thing. Thanks for great and easy to understand tutorial dude!
I have bought a Sony-DSC-HX1 foe X-mas and shot Orion using the camera lens only, but it shoots its video in either HD or VGA size but in .mp4 files and I can't seem to open such a file with Registax 5.
though my smaller SONY DSC-T200 shoots video in .mov file and I have no problem.
if you adjust the bottom layer all the way to the right from what ive seen on other videos this enhances the image and makes it sharper :)

Hope you continue to post vids as you learn more.
