@forceRX if malanichev has done 2425 raw w/ just knee wraps I'm no aware I thought his biggest total was 2359 from a meet he just did not to long ago.. In my favs check it out
@forceRx well if ur right andrey will easily break that total his last meet all his lifts looked like openers lol fucking nuts I give 2400+ next meet !... Congrats again Eric
I believe Malanichew does 1100kg (2425lbs) raw (with knee wraps). It's about time to break that 36 year old record. Although Reinhoudt did his total withouth knee wraps. It's interesting that Don's 1084,5kg has stood so long.
bremen327...I know we all can carry on a lengthy conversation regarding "RAW with knee wraps", however, my personal belief is that the knee wraps are primarily there for safety and support, very much like the weight belt. Yes, I will admit that sometimes the use of wraps will aid in lifting heavier weights, like the weight belt, but realistically it is only a bit more. If you've ever been to a RAW meet and seen someone actually blow their knee out under load, it is quite a devistating injury.
That is exactly why i've chose to lift and compete in wraps... my dads already had surgery on his knee due to lifting for years in a belt only. Even with doing high rep squats that weren't very taxing on his muscles, it still screwed up his knees after all those years of not wearing the wraps. I've tried my best to learn from my dads mistakes and listen to all the advice he's given me and using the knee wraps was the main one ever since i've been training.
@UPAPowerlifter1 to be fair argument can be made for gear also. Fact is something like that is a freak accident and more due to bad technique and using weights should not be using -or bad spotters also- There is nothing wrong with wraps just like there is nothing wrong with geared lifting neither is more hardcore just different. I just think the best lifters overall compete in gear-other then a few russians- and eric should also
Because it is raw... there are a lot of federations that allow knee wraps in there raw division. Yes the knee wraps do help without a doubt, but it's still raw. They just consider it raw with wraps. The highest raw total to this date was done with knee wraps by andrey malanichev.
@EricLilliebridge ok thank you for your answer! it was just a thought....like i said i have a lot of respect to your determination and will. keep up the good work because you have the potential to chase guys like malanichev. thats for sure! sorry for my bad english iam german :)
kind of sucks all are great lifters can't represent usa at the world stage in ipf though. Great lifts but wish you should go for the big boys in IPF and win a world title in the most respected federation.
LOL i can't compete in drug tested events... although there are a lot of guys in the IPF that use steroids and never get tested because they have there "star lifters" but i wouldn't be interested in competing there anyway... those meets seem extremely boring and it's so damn quite you could hear a pin drop.
I'm sexy and I know it...perfect time for that song. The day was getting a bit long. We all needed a bit of humor at that time of the day. Personally, though, I think it might have thrown off my concentration before the lift, but you pulled it off in fine fashion. Great job! It's nice to have a competitive lift partner like Chris Hickson hot on your tail to keep you motivated and moving forward.
The harder you pull, the better it feels...deadlift.
awesome meet, youre definitely gonna hit 2200, only a matter of time. as it is now, if you can replicate your best gym lifts, 835, 525, 840, in competition you got it. you think if you took off from competing for awhile and focused solely on your deadlift you might come close to cracking 900? your 840 video looked really easy
LMAO amazing meet bro, your improving well, and you should set your sights on that EPIC 1000 kg 2,200lbs total for you next meet! Your squat looked EASY looks like you had about 15lbs-25lbs in the tank! Bench looked Superb with max out! Dead lift looked great as well! You might have had 820lbs in you! EPIC!
Thanks man! I wasn't really sure where my squats were so i wanted to at least break 800 on the squat for this meet. I agree i do feel like i could have done probably 825 or so for a 3rd attempt but i'm happy with how everything felt. The bench felt strong but started feeling cooled down between attempts since there were like almost 20 guys in my flight...1 minute + for everyone's attempt so about 20 mins or so between attempts. The pull i think i could have done around 815 probably
@EricLilliebridge Nice yea when i use to compete i hated waiting lol i was always in the top of my weight class and would just sit for what it seemed like for ever to lift lol but yea man great job again and train smart pack on some more weight come in next time and hit 2,200lbs RAW!!!
nice job man keep on training you are a reallly big talent

I meant that I believe he will do 1100kg in future. That 1070kg (2359lb) is biggest what he has done to date.

@EricLilliebridge
The highest raw total is done by Don Reinhoudt.
May 3rd, 1975 Reinhoudt lifted 905 squat, 600,5 bench and 885,5 deadlift = 2391 lbs raw, without knee wraps.
