Ach jahh ... mit English ist not so godt ... ;-) ... but still better than your Danish, I bet.
You are absolutely right of course, Pluto was 'degraded' in August 2006 at the astronomers conference in Prag in order to let the Solar system's planet belt end with Neptune ... and what larger objects there may be found from that point onwards are now called 'plutoides'.
But at the same event Ceres was 'raised' to be a dwarf planet from the asteroid it had been since 1854 (planet since 1801).
I hardly think that Mike Brown's team regrets the name Eris. They knew that the discovery would set the cat among the pigeons, and from a scientific point of view anything that does that is a credit to the people who discovered it. Besides which the name has counter-culture kudos, given that Eris was a major figure in the Illuminati trilogy.
Eris is within the Kuiper Belt (beyond Pluto), which is concidered to be the outskirts of our solar system and the hunting ground for all the planethunters. Beyond that we have the Oort Cloud with is the home of comets and this cloud is now seen as the outer parameter of what is known as our solar system ... pretty vast ...
Is Nibiru Eris or Comet Elenin? So confusing. Can't verify any of this. Infact it could all be hogwash. Time will tell.
