My family and I are planning on purchasing a Vitamix this year. Are you as pleased with it now as you were 15 months ago? Do you use it daily? Thanks for making this video so that others can see what comes in the box. Blessings!
Yes I am very satisfied with it. It works as well now as the first day. I don't use it daily but we do weekly. I do plan on using it daily. No regrets. I feel it was a great investment. My sister bought one and loves it too. She uses it daily.
There shouldn't be any "smell" with this series. Ive just finished reading about Vitamix using a new polymer called Titan instead of the BPC plastic that the previous ones were made from.
this is the Super pack, which comes with the wet and dry containers. the larger one is wet only, the smaller one is dry only. the size/shape of the smaller one allows grains to be dispersed evenly for proper and even grinding.
what does it smell like? i have read that the older models smell like strong plastic, and i'm interested to know what this new BPA-free plastic container smells like. i still wish they'd make glass, though, especially as expensive as it is. please reply, thanks john!
There is no smell. I don't remember a smell when we first purchased it either. I just "smelled" it now and inside I smell some of the foods we have blended. On the outside no smell at all. I, too, would prefer glass but the container is very sturdy and easy to clean without the fear of breaking it. I love my Vitamix. We do a lot of smoothies, mainly green smoothies. I plan on posting some of these later. Thanks - John
Nice video! I've had my 5000 for several years and never noticed a smell.
I think there are several very good reasons why they've never used glass (the older models had stainless steel containers). A container of this size would be VERY heavy and I imagine glass might be problematic for hot foods like soups. But I recall reading that it's mainly for safety--if one should drop something like a spoon) into the container, it would shatter (rather violently, I suspect). These are sturdier.
Hmm, are you sure the 64 oz container is wet and dry? The website says it's wet only(or rather BEST for wet) and the dry containers is best for dry because it moves the material faster and thus reduces clogging.
Since the Vitamix is such an expensive machine, I guess opening one is a major experience. I'm also considering purchasing one. Everybody is raving about these machines saying if you are going to get a good quality blender the Vitamix is the way to go. I can't wait until I own one. It would be a big help in my transition to the raw vegan diet. I can't wait to make my first smoothie. I'm looking forward to owning one.
I can't believe I'm sitting here watching you open up a VitaMix box, but here I am- 'cause I'm buying one too and I CAN'T WAIT!! Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you!

Organicbicycle is correct (see above). I thought originally the 64 oz container was a wet/dry but it is meant for wet.
