  • ok, so am i smart now that i watched this or dumber?

  • when i tried this i got 47

  • it would have been better if you changed the base to 13 and tried to multiply 6 by 9.

  • my teacher has this calculator, i feel asleep in class while playing with it and when i woke up my teacher was holding a detention slip and she was right next to my desk holding the calculator which said " Jason Biggs fucked A pie "

  • @joey5605 Some friends you have there XD

  • dam hthe super computer on hitch hikers gide to the galixy should have just made you that would have ben less time than waighting 7.500.000 + the years it took for earth to get blown up thumbs me up if you think im right or funny.

  • @balsto652 your comment is neither funny nor right. And in addition, your spelling made me loose a couple IQ Points.

  • sweet so my plan works to make people dumber and me smarter thanx my little guinea pig

  • you can make spaces with that did you know? :p

  • this is why my physics teacher keeps saying that the ti-83 was the greatest calculator ever

  • WE'RE DOOMED

  • where is your towel?

  • this particular calculator is programmable, that's how this is done if ur wondering

  • Hehe that's my graphing calculator!

  • if you type in 42 press enter and clear the line the next answer if you type in 0 will be 42 letters will be.. 42 so if you typed in B00BS the same answer would appear

  • @hooversom no, he just made it so the letters multiplied = 42, with graphing calculators, letters hold values such as an x does in elgebra

  • @fireyblackdragon huh.... O_O

  • @hooversom lots of mispellings... but, if you type in 42 then store (sto>) and type in"THEANSWER", any time you type in THEANSWER it will pop up with 42 until something resets that value

  • @fireyblackdragon ah ok :)

  • 42

  • That was 0.000000001 seconds not 7,500,000 years

  • @litonfire1 well, of course. Deep Thought was able to calculate the answer in a span of less than the average humans heartbeat. she just didnt want to deal with those two bratty little supergeniouses =D

  • @litonfire1 modern calculators you know

  • Tooo Cool! Lol yay for The Hitchhickers refrence.

  • AWESOME!!! - It's a hitchhikers guide to the galaxy reference!!

  • clap clap clap clap...

  • 42

  • 42

  • OHH MAH GAWWDZZZ ...IT'S TROU!!!!!!!

  • Lol both top comments have 42 thumbs up and the Dislike bar is at 142

  • Do NOT votes up soup's comment any more.

  • dun dun duuuuuuun!!!!!!!!!

  • theres,a waste of 15 minutes in my life

  • @citron1997 your computer must take long to buffer huh?...

  • @citron1997 minutes?

  • booo u suck

  • 3 1 0 4 5 5 6

on a simple calculator, turn it upside down and what do you get?

  • @redshark618 : GSSAOIE?

  • @gspinoza It reads "asshole", (just in case you weren't being sarcastic)

  • @xcnunes10 : I was, because 3104556 does not read asshole at all.

  • @gspinoza you should try using a less advanced calculator

  • @gspinoza On one of those cheap, $10 calculators, it spells "ASSHOLE"

  • That explains alot. now i know what i need to know

  • Just bind 42 to T and 1 to H, E, A, N, S, W, R and put that in.

Or bind some other combinaton that gives 42 if you multiply it by eachother.

  • So easy, so very, very easy.

  • i know how to do this.... all i do in math class is mess around on calculators

  • Ha ha ha ha! Awesome. ^_^

  • JEEZ..chill out..this is how you do it..you assign each of the letters, i.e. T,H,E,A,N,S,W,E,R, to a value of 1(you can do that using the "Sto" button, then of those letters, pick two, that appear only once and store them as 6 and 7. When you enter "THEANSWER", the calculator multiplies all those values together, giving you 42...DFTBA

  • @ivivoq or just set like THEANSWE as 1 each, and R as 42 :P

  • I know how to do such a thing on a TI .. But I'm not telling =p

  • Don't panic.

  • dammit! I tried the same thing with the same exact model, and all I got was zero!!

  • @NeedleTVLTD -.-"

  • there was a distinct lack of the word "Boobs" written in numbers in this video, therefore it isn't a worthy calculator trick...

  • @honan91

haaha no way you are so right lol olol

  • @honan91 *roll my eyes*

  • I guess you changed the buttons and symbols around (So T = 12 and H = + and etc.) and "THEANSWER" turns out to be 42? :S

  • aaaaaaaaaaahhh this so weird :O

    haha

  • The answer IS 42.

  • I was talking to the Computer while You were gone.

    It hates Me.

  • lol

  • 1337% times pi?

  • @Emplon appr 42.

    xD

  • That's great and all, but I'd really like to know if you calculator can give us the ultimate question...

  • @GiveCourage

Oh no, we can't know that, otherwise the universe will disintegrate and reform. Again.. -.-

  • wow my nerdy side has been asleep for 3 yrs and this video, along with a dr who marathon, has woken it up ...lol

didnt u just write 42? but still...good stuff

  • @Rachulie No, he assigned the variables values. T,H,E,A,N,S,W,E = 1 and R = 42. Then the calculator multiplies the variables and you get 42.

This is top secret stuff and you'll probably get murdered by Illuminati for knowing this.

  • @MurarN91 FUCK! MY CHEST!

  • @killerhobo97 does your chest hurt to after watching this?

  • @OMFGtykeem THE DAMN ILLUMINATI BURNED MY CHEST AND FORCED ME TO WRITE IN CAPS LOCK

  • @MurarN91 *Sigh* Couldn't you tell that last part before you said the first part...

  • @remq2 I like it when other people suffer due to my evil actions on the internet.

  • its a set variable he just typed in "theanswer=42" so the next time he types in "theanswer" and presses equals it comes up as 42

  • 54

  • I think you ought to know I'm feeling very depressed.

  • Very impressive. Now what's the question?

  • @Soupthemighty What do you get if you multiply six by nine... according to The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe

  • @Soupthemighty what is 6 by 9?

  • @gonoitamina4321 The ultimate question is what is 6 by 9 according to the book the Restaurant at the end of the universe. It says "Six by nine. Forty two. That's it. That's all there is. I always thought something was fundamentally wrong with the universe"

  • @Soupthemighty Considering you just asked a question, I'm going to say the answer to it is 42

  • @Soupthemighty the question is whats 21+21?

    The answer 42 :P

  • @Soupthemighty Here's a thought. 'How many roads must a man walk down?'

  • @Soupthemighty omg 42 likes on your comment lol

  • @Soupthemighty T times H times E squared times A times N times S times W times R

  • THE ANSWER On Glen's Calculator is 0

  • @gleno61927 Then your calculator is not powerful enough to determine the real answer.

  • @mysterykcad the question is the real answer.

  • @Birdo661 And the question is "What do you get if you multiply six by nine?"

  • @mysterykcad watch hichikers guide to the galaxy lol the programmers probably made a easter egg refrence to it. because in the book the answer to life and everything is calculated by a supreme computer to be 42. but they need to come with a smarter computer to come up with a question. which was why earth was made unfortunately the earth had been destroyed to make way for a intergalactic bypass.

  • @Birdo661 I've seen the movie. I've also read the book. So you're wasting your synopsis of the movie on someone who knows just as much if not more than you about The Guide.

  • @mysterykcad then why are you asking a question to something you obviously know the answer to?

  • @Birdo661 I wasn't asking a question. I was quoting a line from the book.

  • I just posted the meaning of life on my channel

  • This is easy. Just apply the value 42 to the letter T and to the rest of the letters (H,E,A,N,S,W,E,R) apply the value 1. Then when you type it in, it's gonna give you 42 * 1 * 1 * 1 * 1 * 1 * 1 * 1 * 1 = 42

  • It's actualy 49 not 42 :D

  • Ah, TI, you do us well.

also, a program discovered by someone at my school works well to. It was listed as FOO.

    it's function?

    X=0

    :P

it really messes with people that dont know how to work a TI 83/84 XD

  • you know the house number of Starvo Mueller BETA is 42

  • The ultimate question is 6x9. 6x9=42.

  • @darkraichu55 Only in base 13...

  • @darkraichu55 i think 6x9 is 54 and not 42.........

  • @1sra2ify Exactly.

  • @darkraichu55 Do some research before you say something stupid. -_- Six multiplied by nine is 42.

  • @chippaa ...no... it's not...

  • @deathwalk86 Go read a book, dumb kid! (That book being Hitchhiker's Guide, of course.)

  • @chippaa - haha, kid. what are you, 15?

  • @deathwalk86 I'm seventeen. :S

Anyway, what I said refers to the book The Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy, which is what this video is a parody of.

I'll send you a link in your inbox. xP

  • @chippaa - not a bad guess on my part then.

  • @deathwalk86 Nope. Good job.

  • Yes, I though it over quite alot it is, 42

  • 42 - In other words, magic. *snort* *snort*

  • Self-interest, sadism and true-care are separate axis in 3D morality.

Sadisms opposite = "natural-respect". True-cares opposite = "coldness". Self-interest has no opposite. There are 12 possible combinations in "3D morality"

Self-interest is a good thing, a form of light. Most humans have self-interest, a little sadism but no true-care. Thats just one way of being (a lower way) out of 12.

Theres other planets where most beings have self-interest & natural-respect or true-care, but no sadism.

  • why doing a programm? you kan set for evry variable ->1 and for the "s" -> 42

    than u has 1*1*1*1*1*1*24*1*1*1*1*1*1*1*1 = 42

  • why are people so amazed by this? look up basic programming for your TI calculator, it's not hard to put loops/commands into them and make small programs--such as the above.

  • @droptozro You sir are and idiot

  • @cowbell400

for pointing out the simplicity of the binds in this TI calculator? lol...

    God Bless you

  • How many vogans does it take to screw in a light bulb? 42. I win.

  • @SokomameKokumotsu haha epic win :D

  • @TheZaccoweb 7500000 years is the amount of time it took to invent that calculator. THE CALCULATOR IS THE COMPUTER! NOT THE EARTH!

  • go texas mckinneys the shiz

  • how did you do this?

  • @dg14813 storage like THEANSWER T STO> 1 H STO> 1 E STO> 1 A STO> 1 N STO> 1 S STO> 1 W STO> 1 E STO> 1 R STO> 42 You type THEANSWER and it will make 1 x 1 x 1 x 1 x 1 x 1 x 1 x 1 x 42, makes 42
  • DEEP THOUGHT!

  • The real answer is 7*6 (Good vs Evil) but since earth was destroyed the question was screwed up.

  • the question: what is the meaning of life?

  • @danny899 the answer is: Don't F%$Kin divide by zero!

  • fuck you, you animal

  • LoL, so easy man.

    you just typed : 42 --> THEANSWER

    on your Ti......

  • 42!=1405006117752879898543142606244511569936384000000000

the prime number of 42! has a connection to 42 here:1405006117752879898543142606244511569936384000000097

You see the last two numbers can be written 97=84+13=2*42+13

and 13 is a number of disaster.

The Prime number before 42! is

    1405006117752879898543142606244511569936383999999921

and here you can see, the last two numbers are 42/2

These are the borders of bad luck and luck. The conclusion is only a universe based on 42! is a stabl body.

  • @LUMfulmetal Dumb ass forgot to carry the one.

  • @JewLobster ...I don't care...

  • @Kingraider36 I tip my hat to you, good sir.

  • @k0nijnemans that didnt sound gay at all

  • well i hope my calculator knows english D:

  • If you truly want to work out the question to life the universe and everything just ask Marvin!

He knew the answer well before the crew reached Magrathia, but simply didn't bring it up because no-one asked him.

He only tells one person the question and that happens to be a native mattress on Squornshellous Zeta. If you don't believe me check it in "Life, the universe and everything", Chapter 9.

  • @darketherealv2 Dont forget the creators message to his creation " Sorry for the Inconvenience"

  • "WE ARE SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE."

  • @theperformingguy112

"We apologize for the inconvenience", actually. >.>

  • @TinySissyCheater

whatever, the idea is the same. i listened to audiobook version and douglas was spent about a page on it as there were loads of "and then" "and following that part sightly to the right "

  • @theperformingguy112 The idea may be, but the meaning isn't. Don't dig yourself in deeper.

  • i just tried that on a Ti-84 Plus to no avail.

  • it doesnt work

  • Everyone is panicking! DON'T PANIC!

  • Im so going to do this on my ipod touch calculator

  • 1 die has 6 sides 1+2+3+4+5+6= 21 if you have 2 die you get 21+21= 42 there fourth he answer is 2 die

  • @ginger0796 Sorry that i have to correct u ... 1 dice has 6 sides .. and 2 dice accumulate the sum of 42 .. that means that the answer is of everything is "to dice" witch means you should play your game :P

  • to die! the answer is to die!

    1 dice = 21

    2 die = 42

  • @Bigheadet You got that from a different comment.. and also you spelt two wrong

  • @Petrified3 uh oh, please don't arrest me

  • How you did that I wanna know tell me! 8D

  • I have the same calculator :D

  • LOL that's so dumb xD Just put everything as 1 and put the letter R as 42.

So "THEANSWER" is really just "1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x42" =/

  • this is just a simple cas program scripted by someone that know something about programming and this seems to be something as simple as:

    if input=themeaning (print 42)

  • @Jackie00100 actually, you are retarted. wouldnt it be

    if input=theanswer

    then

    output (2,15,"42

    iWIN uLOSE

  • @modernmoders maybe im not into cas-calculator programming more funny to use c++ but still nice done for a beginning ^^

  • Only marvin knows, but arthur thinks its "what do you get when you multiply 6 x 9?" which oddly enough works out to be 42 in base 13 :)

  • The ultimate question is...............What is41+1(Answer is 42)

Oh my god!i found the question! Will the universe disappear now?

  • @hrrrypottter Actually the question is: whats the answer to life the universe and everything :)

  • @NevaehUchiha8 No!In that video, the computer will say them to find the question using a super computer! :P

  • @hrrrypottter and suddenly all the universe has become more bizarre

  • @hrrrypottter poof!!! good job ass hole.

  • @AlecsRandomVideos Why are you so gay?

  • @hrrrypottter *very loud voice* Yes! *poof*

  • @hrrrypottter or maybe the ultimate question is 43-1? or 44-2? or maybe 40+2?

  • @hrrrypottter apparently not.

  • @hrrrypottter Doesn't really work...I think "what do you get if you multiply six by nine" is a much better question. Leaves an air of boggling stupidity and mystery about, doesnt it?

  • @hrrrypottter Did you actually read the entire hitchhikers series? It tells you the question :D And its a mighty good read too

  • @willywonk0 Oh!then can you pls tell me the question? :D

  • @hrrrypottter No, i happen to like my life

  • @hrrrypottter Actually the question is what do you get when you multiply six and nine?

(Don't try to work it out, it makes your brain hurt XD)
