For DeerDance990: It's a radio tower used for law enforcement, fire/EMT and Cable TV reception of over-the-air signals about 30 miles away. It's about 350 feet high, and it gets hit all the time!
2 or 3 times a year here in central illinois we get nonstop lightning for an hour or so that lights up the sky and ground every time but i have never ever experienced thunder that powerful and frequent.. this movie kicks ass.
Beautiful, just beautiful captures! Those thunder crashes really excited me in the first few minutes of the video - makes me can't wait for Spring-Summer to return.
Only shit, Last summer I experience intense thunder that loud in Nebraska. At first I was in the corn fields looking at the CG or Cloud to Ground strikes. When the storm got close I ran all the way home
im in nashville tn we had one like this few nights ago was south of us about a mile or less was just like this me dad sat out side we saw the house behind us get hit we hauled rear back inside lol
now i know what it looks like outside in Ohio, I am in the closet and freaked out. my house is completely lit up with lightning and the news is saying there have been 5,000 to 9,000 strikes! tornado sirens are blaring.
nice thunder!
