  • it looks like a Gauss gun...

but i don't know how to make it so small..

  • OMG! WUT JUST HAPPENED!

  • 0:02

  • K the was cool... now make it interesting and shoot a beer bottle.... Or a fat person.

  • avoid all videos with an advertisement at the end, they will always make your computer freeze 90% of the time

  • what just happened ?!

  • fuck i blinked.

  • where can you get those magnets? the speed from which it fires shows how powerful the super magnets are

  • get 1 of those a mile long i wana see how fast that shit goes

  • @imthetank3 that would break all the balls and/or the magnets and stop quarter-past the road.

  • fuckin hell how quick was dat

  • Fucking magnets, how do they work?

  • Comment removed

  • Now, THAT'S a weapon.

  • use a new browser. google chrome is fine.

  • wow that was 10x more forcefull than i expected

  • mine too

  • Ouch. Nobody try to stand in front of this. It wont work out well.

  • is my computer the only one that frezes at the end of the video send me a reply if yours does or not

  • @theiopl22 My browser froze, too... weird. o.O

  • @theiopl22 it does it with all computers because the comercial is at the very end, ya know the yellow one

  • check out the best song ever !!!

    /watch?v=M8if5gsYckA

  • @danielweger94 /watch?v=6cUZEyuLI2A This is better.

  • Video froze at the end? :)

  • @D2System lol my browser frooze

  • @D2System damn internet froze at the end :(

  • @D2System This always seems to happen with short videos, Sadly this always happens to me when watching 5SecondFilms...

  • I blinked....

  • @7he5ilent0ne Shit! So did I!

  • @johnkicksforlife You spelled "transference" wrong, Einstein. Way to try to be a pretentious prick and failing at it.

  • @csmybuttt Good to see a familliar username around these parts, friend.

    Travelled far from KhanSeb's videos?

  • @sockschappercat Yep, it was quite a journey.

  • Fucking magnets! how do they work?

  • @russiandrummer14 In theory.. Lol.. Today's coilguns are ridiculously powerful and accurate.

  • First thought: how many of them can you switch behind.

  • how about a double turd gun?

  • @russiandrummer14 that's what she said!

  • where is the 0:04?

  • I explain whats happening there. The first magnetic ball atract the 4 others one and with this impact caused by the first ball, the last one in the first line is expeled to the next line that simultanaly atract the firsts balls of the second line, consequently expeling the last ball very fast, =D

  • i need a slower version :D

  • pause and return to the moment 0:03 O_O

  • your guys now what would be EVEN cooler? a TRIPLE gaussian gun!!! search for it NOW!!!

  • youtube cant count. skipped 0:04

  • @MrAHand I loled

  • @xXjedmanXx So did I

  • @xXjedmanXx me to!

  • i would love to see an electro magnet one of these i sure it could possibly kill something

  • Ahhww, fuck =D

  • actually its a multiple gausition accelerator

  • @rkshirey no one cares so shut up. lol, jks

  • Why do you think that's what a gauss gun is?

  • Great display

  • I was like "naah, again one of this gay *BANG*! WHATTAA?!?!?"

  • That'd be one hell of a bb mark.....

  • is it possible to bend a gauss accelerator thing so that you could make a snake shape out of them to make the ball go even faster?

  • @kingmanted I dunno if it would go any faster, but yes you can have a curved track.

  • Guy the military uses this for very powerful weapons. Imagine this but instead using electromagnets and a bunch more of them.

  • @CTU4105 no they use a railgun, totally different than a gauss or coil gun. Still uses electromagnets though, but it is on a track with a sabot or foil backing that ionizes the air behind the projectile to such a high degree it forms high temperature plasma. This obviously only happens in the atmosphere and it does further accelerate the projectile, but severly shortens the track life, gauss and coil do not have this problem but require more energy. NASA resarched railguns for mass drivers.

  • pew

  • put it in ur mouth then shoot it..

  • MAGNET POWAH

  • this is acctual technology being reserched for weapons development,

  • this could be a dangorous weapon o.O

  • @trainlover658 if you put about 5 of those together in a row lie that the ball would be flying so hard by the end that u are right it would be dangerous :)

  • That's quite clever. The ball is nudged towards the first magnet, and slams home with a great deal of force. That force travels through the three balls in front of the magnet and sends the 4th flying out, since the 4th isn't held in place as firmly being the farthest from it's attached magnet. That 4th ball then repeats the process.

It relies on the principle of momentum being preserved far better then the magnetic force through a string of balls.

Jeez, this could be scary with more balls.

  • wat is the litle tingh you guys use

  • NOICE!

  • holy crap like a bullet. would it go faster if you had flicked it faster?

  • If those shot any faster you might lose a pet O_o

  • @AZUREkiteMAN or you will shot your eye out....

  • ಠ_ಠ

  • this looks like it could be a google chrome experiment

  • at first i was like ಠ_ಠ

but the i was like O-o

  • @killingfrenzy1993

    and then I was like ( . ) ( . )

  • OWeeee!! my eye !! my Eye !!!

  • @LightYagame1 That is also what she said ..

  • its faster then the eye

  • whoa wat just happened??

  • what kinda magnets are best to use?

  • @diekeschojt3 Neodymium magnets

  • sweet!

now try 50 times more lol

  • Looks painful when hit. =(

  • Okay I have 10 1/2 In. N45 Neodymium Cube Magnets, Ive tried this.... Nothing

Ive tried it with 10 Magnets set up almost like this guys but with 2 magnets in front, and chained them all up like the way this is... Nothing.... The ball shoots... but it shoots with the force of a ball rolling down a small hill...

  • your doing something wrong obviously

  • In slow motion, what happens is the first ball bearing rolls to the right slowly. It's suddenly attracted by the neodymium magnet and picks up speed until it smacks into the magnet. The impact of that ball is transferred to the other 4 bearings, and the 4th bearing shoots off to the right very fast. The same thing happens again on the next set of bearings.

Essentially, you're turning a very small amount of energy into a very high amount using magnetism and inertia. It's very clever.

  • take it in slow mo please

  • you guys should see what happens with larger magnets and multiple stages - I built a model that can fire nails through the air. search "gauss gun firing nails" and you'll see it.

  • Awesome!!!

  • wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!it happened so fast

  • cool ! but you use many magnet to launch !

try to build a magnet ramp accelerator! it's more efficiency ! good work !

  • holy crap that was fast.

  • slow mo? that would be cool

  • wow, those balls sure do fire quick...

  • thats what she said

  • @jgween1 That is what she said!

  • @jgween1 thats what she said lol

  • @jgween1 That's what she said.

  • @ogresmash812 That's what he said.

  • @ogresmash812 That was the joke Isaac Newton....

  • @ogresmash812 yea

  • @jgween1 thats what she said.

  • @jgween1 thats what she said

  • @jgween1 Giggity!

  • gauss rifles are amazing, I love railguns as well. Both get such amazing speed.

  • Comment removed

  • Not actually, the rail gun does exist, but believe me, it's not convenient at all.

  • i had to watch it like 5 times to get how this works

  • they wont take me alive!!!!

  • cool but not really gaussian just magnetic simular but gaussian is just enrgery of cousre thts only a theory a new type of energy

  • That is the Gaussian theory right there

  • Gauss refers to a famous scientist who did a lot of groundbreaking fieldwork in magnetic fields. Likewise, a unit of measure of magnetic fields (namely magnetic field flux) is named after him. Gauss rifle is a reasonable name for a magnetic field driven projectile device. The practice of magnetic field projectile weapons is nowhere near developed enough to get picky about coil guns versus magnet guns, etc.

  • nice.

  • recoil (if your serious) is what happens when a gun pushes back from the discharge of a bullet, or in this case the magnet moving back from discharging a ball bearing

  • ever played a first person shooter game?

if so, notice how the gun goes up instead of staying still? that's recoil

if you still don't know look up "elephant gun" on youtube

  • Notice the recoil.

  • wow!@@@awesome

  • If you used marbles or a non ferrous rod in place of the transmitter ball bearings, you would get more velocity from the projectile. Using steel ball bearings causes you to have to overcome the attraction of the magnets, thus slowing down the final ball speed. Just a thought.

  • would have to enclose the track if using marbles, as they'd fly all over otherwise. Good thought with the rod -- just have to becareful of friction between the track.

And if you're going for a bit more speed, use a lighter material for the final ball.

  • so like on most games there is a gauss gun which looks like a normal gun but shoots a sort of ray bullet like thing is that the same as this?

  • its the same theory, of course we haven't advanced technology that far yet though.

  • we shouldnt really need to if there isnt any more fighting but as always there will be battles and wars so yeh i guess someones trying to develop it now

  • why so we can kill more people. war is bad

  • I know war is bad thats why I said we should not have any more and i didnt say i wanted them to make it i said i bet there making it

  • What is a Gaussian Gun?

  • @JD161, a gun that using electromagnetic and other things accelerate a object to a high speed, if used with normal magnets the result is this, if u usea electromagnets u can pierce 6 tanks with a 9mm bullet

  • if i put my hand in front of that, the results would be.... ? o_O

  • A GIANT NUKE BLOWING UP THE ENTIRE EARTH CAUSING A BLACK HOLE BIG ENOUGH TO SUCK IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE!!!! u would get a red mark on your hand, or if faster, a bruise

  • hahahaha

  • Comment removed

  • looooool

  • @Katana9990 Wait.. wat

  • wtf just happened?

  • omg, try the audio preview and write words and watch the computer say it really fast. HAVE FUN ^_^

  • cool little thing, but does it hurt if the ball bearing hits you? how fast does it fly out?

  • Can an actual weapon be built on this principle?

  • Yes, actually the U.S. is working on a Magnetic cannon, if you want a link to this project, ask me on my channel

  • it's not exactly the same, but it still uses magnetism to propell a metal object at a high speed.

  • I think they're building a Railgun, which is different than a Coilgun (Gauss gun), which is different than this, which is neither.

  • How did you get yours so powerful? Larger magnets? I can't get mine to shoot fast :(

  • its 2 guns in 1. the first one shoots slower because it didnt have that much power in the first place, but when it shoots. it creates more power that is transfered to the next one which creating a more powerful shot.

  • so if i put ANOTHER one then it will be super-er stronger?

  • right, the more there are the stronger it will be as long as u have them in segments of 4, if u have more segments, using 3 in each, it'll be stronger yet.

  • that was fast

  • what the hell is that, it looks sooooo cool.

  • I tried it and the first marble ended up hitting my eye

  • wow dumbass he meant two sets of magnets instead of one(ie more power)

  • stupid and dangerous *like this* before

  • Oo... the magnet attracts the ball whose kinetic energy is then transfered to the unmovable magnet so it continues to the next available ball which moves, and is then attracted to the next magnet builing up speed and etc etc... Cant believe i haven't tried something stupid and dangeous before!!! lol off to find some magnets

  • where do you get the magnets?

  • physics id a fucken trip man!!!

  • you could kill someone with this as a booby trap. the police would never figure it out.

  • how fucking fast is that thing?

  • is it real? it looks nuts!

  • its real try it ^^

  • try triple, imagine the power of 10 of these xD. It would fly through a wall!! xD

  • lol im doing an experiment on twelve 0_o for my physics IB extended essay xD

  • woo! put a whole in a wall =D

  • This link is bullshit and i never said those things ever!

  • This particular design would not make a terribly practical weapon. Reload time is relatively long, and the maximum acceleration you can get from magnets like that is somewhat small. Gauss guns using electromagnetic coils however are in development by researchers around the world. The main issue is the power requirements.

  • how is this posoble

does the military have any improved ones as a weapon

  • what do you think is going on in the top secret underground labs^^

  • THE SECRET: the ball bearing is going at a slow pace and the the magnetic pull causes it to accelerate. newtons law states something about the same amount of energy being outputted that is inputted, so the other one that flies off goes really fast too. although its sort of like free energy cause you don't have to do anything to get it to speed up.
