  • im not a normal fan of bill.

    but you get props.

  • The best and the brightest will educate themselves with or without a college degree. If you're not intelligent you should go to College because it requires intellect to find success without a College degree. Perhaps an unconventional outlook, but this is 2012, any information you can obtain from a teacher, I can obtain with two clicks of a mouse, without the bias, bullshit, and without paying thousands of dollars for it.

  • @12Ominous a degree isn't so much +5 to you INT stat, as much as its proof you have the ability to learn, and the drive to finish something. which is arguably more important to employers than pirating education.

  • @n00btube87 It proves you have work ethic, the ability to stay the course (four years is a long time) and are subservient and there for not arrogant. True and true. My outlook is more of an entrepreneurial outlook than a get a job outlook, it's not very effective if you're looking for employment.

  • @12Ominous Amen brotha, we piss on the system while everybody get upset LOL

  • did he die?? why is everyone saying rest in peace??

  • I don't think we can afford not to educate our best and brightest.

If we only "educate" those who can afford to buy their diplomas and degrees, we will end up with knuckledragging mouthbreathers running this country and destroying it in the process.

  • rest in peace bill, we'll miss you

  • Here it is! The first time I've ever agreed with O'Reilly!

  • If your aren't gifted to understand simple things like the sunrise and sunset, or how tides work, than you should probably not waste your money on college. You should pass basic education first

  • smart

  • america should model itself after germany. in germay trade schools are given a priority over academic classes.

  • 40k for people who don't go to college? where they hell are they workin?

  • @badATchaos

if you work for a trade union, you can earn up to 100 grand a year eventually (in some professions)

  • @badATchaos 40k is a joke dude wth are you saying.

  • @ihavemonkeysinmybutt

He said at about 1:00, without going to college you can work "marginal" jobs earning 40-50 thousand dollars (a year I assume). I've just never heard of earnings that high right out of high school.

  • @badATchaos i doubt he meant it that way. He meant it as a career.

  • Bill, I commend you for saying something smart. When it's not on religion, science or politics, you seem to not be so dumb.

  • Bill is spot on. I am tired of the level of academic rigor in colleges being dragged down in order to accommodate lowest common denominator because these days everyone thinks they should go to college. Stupid people don't belong in college...it's that simple.

  • You can go to college/university for music and art... whaaat??

  • @LilDrummerBoy74 yeah you can go to college for music and art why is that so hard to believe?

  • @ihavemonkeysinmybutt No. I was responding to what he said at 0:17 to 0:33.

  • I wonder what Bill's talent is... talking really loud?

  • @YouJelly21 Being a troll.

  • Education is and should be promoted as the basis for humanity, so this is technically the worst opinion I've heard.

Think about it. The more we educate ourselves, the more we learn to APPRECIATE the vast variety of talents and effort behind "alternative" goals. Otherwise, people can just continue being the ignorant, selfish morons they are - leaving the idea of altruism to continue ruining society.

  • @Exofluke agreeeeeeeeed. Telling people not to go to college is a great way to keep large ranks of uneducated poor.

  • @Tanksareforcowards Quite the opposite. Unless you are truly motivated and have a firm foundation in education you should not go to college. College has become extremely expensive and you become a slave to the system since filing bankruptcy on a student loan will destroy you.

  • @ihavemonkeysinmybutt Quite the opposite, except I also don't think it should be extremely expensive. I don't think students should have to take out loans to afford it.

  • @Exofluke Well, something is already wrong when you have to pay for college.

  • Wow, this is the most intelligent thing he has ever said. Ever.

  • I'm repeating my final year of high school to be able to get into a good university course

  • I actually like this video of him.

  • RAISE TAXES so that Bill gets the fuck off the Tele !!!

  • I totally agree, everyone should go to college and even if it is difficult, go part time and get help with your studies. In order to get a good job these days, and good pay, a college degree is prefer by employers and the job market is now competitive.

  • college is a rip off.

  • @mr1000rx Why do you say that?

  • @Mandragara Probably flunked out and lost his money, lol.

  • I am sure he is changing his mind after his Higher Education friends called him. Otherwise, the only intelligent thing he has ever spoken.

  • Happily surprised!

    - A guy who does not watch Fox (except on the Daily Show...!)

  • I would agree if secondary education weren't so bad in the US.

  • If only my dad was Bill Oreilly...well...at least I wouldn't have to go to college :D

  • Bill O'reilly is anti-intellectual

  • @Freethinker12341 He is obviously smarter than you.

  • @BUDx2 lol sure.. he believes in an invisible man that loves in the sky who literally sent his only son down to earth (his actually himself) and then sacrifices himself to himself, and then comes back to life 3 days later...

  • will am going to film school so i dont see the need for the college though i want the expirence yet i know i wont have the right degree to get me in there :( screw it i'll just have to deal with my mom god no new ps3 for the summer i guess :@

  • 40-50K to keep you even? Tons of people with degrees making that and many wishing they made that much.

  • @lostprophet912 lol ikr, im thinking if you dont go to college you get more like 15-30k a year. Ik teachers with 4 years degrees at my school start at 33k a year.

  • @lostprophet912 I know, right. I think Bill has lost his mind the last few years.

  • Bill, how come you're such a prick on TV, yet you seem like a reasonable human being here?

  • @SpasticatedCunt .. because he is paid by Fox News and he gives them something that fits their program. That's what people will tune in for on both sides: Close-minded, conservative, religous right-wing nuts get what they want to hear and left-wingers get stuff to be upset about, which is basically free promotion for him while the reasonable parts go by unnoticed. The internet is where he does not have to worry about the network and ratings. I actually like watching him like this a lot.

  • Wow, I've never heard Bill O'rielly say anything reasonable until now..

  • The national average income is in the mid 30's, so 40 or 50k isn't bad, most high school students can graduated high school and go right into the work force and with a little hard work can climb up the ladder at most companies and easily make 40 or 50k in their late 20's (that's just a few years off when most college grads finish and start of making the same thing). Remember only 27% of Americans have a bachelors degree.

  • You do understand that there are colleges that specialise in Music and Arts. Nowadays there is a course for just about every single thing in the world, so you can't really say that you shouldn't go just because you like music. But obviously college doesn't make you smart (look at you Bill, that just proves it)

  • all we are is just another brick in the wall

  • everyone has a talent... Billo, for instance, is exceptionally skilled at pissing people off (and nothing else), and he made a lucrative career out of it...

  • Bill's looking old...maybe not long to go

  • Wow... Bill CAN actually be smart and reasonable...

  • 40 or 50 grand huh.......

Thats how much teachers make and they DID go to college!

As I agree college is NOT for everyone those that DID such as TEACHERS should be making much more.

  • @noot68

Is this guy saying that the income of marginal jobs is in the range of 40-50 thousand a year? Um, no. Simply false and ignorant statement by a fat cat.

  • finally something bill says that i agree

  • i've seen oreilley videos for a while and i don't mean in this channel, the odd thing is, i think this is actually the first time i agree with him

  • I agree?

Is it opposite day or something, what's going on??

  • I actually agree for once. Hmm.

  • What is Bill O'Reilly's God given talent.

  • @mnasrallah1 being mentally retarded lol

  • Holy shit. Bill O'Reilly is reasonable for once.

  • For once, I agree with you.

  • This is the only inteligent thing I've heard him say out of all his videos...

  • @someguyoutthere110 the entire art world is made up of graduates.

  • @someguyoutthere110 If you honestly believe that, then you are even more close-minded than he is sometimes. He certainly is very intelligent and he does not get nearly as much credit for it as he deserves, simply because he is on the worst, most biased news channel ever. He has beliefs and views that I disagree with strongly, but the important thing is not to judge too quickly, like I did when I first heard of him through The Daily Show, Letterman, etc.

Keep an open mind, even for right-wingers.

  • @someguyoutthere110 For some reason he's only rational backstage...

  • Hes not stupid on topics wich cant enrage his public audience to react or absorb his opionion, which supports horrible things.

  • 40/50 will just keep you even? 50 is the average for Americans...

  • @SinSeared Exactly. Shows you how out of touch he is, even though he claims that he speaks for "the folks".

  • @VAswang Even worse, 50 is the avg household income....husband and wife combined. Avg individual income is 25K. Im a big fan of O'reilly but his comments here annoy me.

  • This is actually some good advice.

Bill isn't a dumbass in every area I guess.

  • hahah I want that shirt.... THE FACTOR

  • Bill O'Reilly went to harvard to yell at people!!! A yelling degree!!

  • Too many people who weren't academically inclined went to my university and it ruined my experiance. I was on a course that required a lot of discussion and was, in part, about improving one's own communication skills, yet I was one of only 3 in classes of about 30 would every contributed. I'm not a straight A guy, but I was very interested and eager and I ended up looking like a teachers pet in a place I assumed everyone would be passionate and eager to debate. It put me off going to lessons

  • College has a diverse set for almost everyone.

  • YOUR A BTACCHCH

  • Specialists go to college, Bill. In order to be respected in your chosen field of academia (i.e. journalism) you need to achieve at least a bachelor's degree in said field. It is crazy to think that someone who specializes in any academic field (science, math, history, composition) would choose not to go to college and expect to achieve as much as someone with a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degree in that same field. Even people who focus on a skill will go to a trade school.

  • If you're a good carpenter, then you can make a living off that pretty easily. You have to get 4 degrees now (Associates--> B.A --> M.A --> Ph.D) if you want to be the ultimate specialist in an area. Turn the clock 50 years or so back and you only needed one.

  • @redarrowhead2 Not true. You can skip over the AA and the MA on your road to the PhD.

  • @isselman2000 True, but that is often not the case.

  • College is not expensive for the person who is a good mechanic by the time he/she is 18. Financial aid is very generous.

  • Comment removed

  • this is so true Bil.I have a great talent in the welding trade which I went to school for.And though I never went to school for automotive I seem to have the ability to catch on to that as well.Even some of the advanced cars to date though I still have a long way to go to learn everything on cars. But put me in most college settings and I'm completely lost.

  • A mind is a terrible thing to waste. Like one time on the old Radio Factor a judge who was regular guest host said that the reason there are so many problems with drugs like crack is that "safe drugs like cocaine" have been made illegal. Brilliant! ...........Now Bill is touring with Beck and a few months ago the old SNL guy was singing the praises of Ayn Rand.........Bill used to have a nice show before all this nutty libertarian junk.

  • Interesting that libertarian Ron Paul didn't sign the brief in support of McDonald. Maybe he agreed with the papers by conservative Judge Posner (In Defense of Looseness) & Judge H. Wilkinson (Of Guns, Abortions, and the Unraveling Rule of Law) and didn't want judges in DC telling local governments what to do_____."intent was to guarantee the right of states to form militia, not for individuals to bear arms. Robert Bork, "Bork Says State Gun Laws Constitutional," LA Times, March 15, 1989

  • My opinion is that the formal academic environment is not for everybody. But, what is for everybody is education in one form or another, and self education is a tried and true method for success.

  • Don't do it if the best you'll get is in debt.

  • College is easy if u go to Rutgers-Camden and major in sociology. lolzzzz

  • 40k to 50k isn't that bad acually. There are many people out there that make less than 30k a year. I make 50k to 60k and I live well.

  • I've met people who didn't care for college and they told me that college wasn't for them. That's perfectly fine by me. Some people just aren't the studious type and that doesn't mean that they are dumb, it just means that it's not their cup of tea. College is not easy, it's stressful (especially my field of study, which is criminal justice), but if you know what you're doing, it will pay off in the end. Great video, as always. Keep 'em coming, Bill.

  • Great advice!
