  • I miss those days! Britain WAS Great Britain back then. We all had jobs, were paid a lot, streets were safer to play in, pedophiles were uncommon and we had the freedom to explore the world! I feel bad for kids these days. Their parents are paranoid of stranger danger and they are getting obese for lack of exercise and wanting to play on their video games and computer. Haven't they got an imagination at all?

  • I'd take the 70s or 80s anyday over this age now. I hate this era we're in and I'm under 40!

  • that was really good till the end

  • thank you they were the the days long gone now

  • 0:59 turn off annotations :P

  • too bad britain got worst than ever before

  • Everything in this video is 100% correct. We just have to blame inept governents since the War ( both Labour and Conservative) who have misruled our dear Country.

Enoch Powell will be proved right. The streets will be running with blood before we return our Nation to its true christian roots. We have pandered too long to Islam and what you see dear friends is the result. No to Europe, No to Islam, and No to leftwing trash -aka BBC.

There will be a Civil War - but not in my lifetime :-).

  • yes the part about the made up names started among minority groups when I was in New York but in the South men were named Joe Bob or Jim rather than James now it seems to be everywhere One of my own grandchildren is named Jimi as in Hendrix his other grandfather the hillbilly was named Jimmie not James It took me awhile to realize that these were not nick names oh well I guess there's nothing wrong with it but I just don't know I just don't know

  • Yes, I was one of those and yes, growing up in the fifties and early sixties was absolutely brilliant. And the icing on the cake was being a teenager when the Beatles first came out, good or what?

  • what? oh this is a British vid, cause a lot of this stuff was untrue. My father was born in Brooklyn, and he always raved about the pizza shops, and other restaraunts. This video is kind of melodramatic, though. Sure, you had many hardships, but you were naive to the whole world as children. In this day and age, children are opened up to the world at a very age via the internet, tv, and other media. Many suicides were caused by that of the internet, too.

  • i used to have The same childhood no matter i m not from the UK, here in Bulgaria was the same and i dare say the clip is touchy..as if i m watching the images of my small country town there in the time of my childhood and everyone is still there as if nothong has been changed..you know "..the past is a foreign country they do the things differently there.." how far is UK from Bulgaria and how common are some aspects of the lives of people born between 1960's to 1970's...

  • i blame it on the packies come in over in the 70s

  • great vid

  • I would love more discipline in Britain, I think it’s gone a little bit too soft on the younger generation.

If this comment wall is mainly comprised of BNP members, fuck off.

Britain joined in the war against fascism in 1939, why would you dishonour the fine men and women who fought for freedom, by being a Nazi?

If the BNP was around in the 40’s every member would shot, incarcerated, or hung for treason.

  • @Awsomo666

I'm not a BNP member but I'll say this in answer to your comment. You're only 21 years old - by the time you're 41 years old your view of the world won't be so simplistic. Think about the definition of "fascism" then go and see how much free comment is allowed on leftist videos, or the organised spamming campaigns to obliterate opposing views on other vids, or the mantra of "racist" and "nazi" to silence even moderately voiced concern about the islamification of Britain.

  • @herringfly I believe that right now and even more so with the internet every view and trend of thought is found and I hope it will always be so I'd hate to have a "blasphemy law" that's in the news in Pakistan Don't think it couldn't happen I don't want to censor anybody left right fascist communist or the UVF or Sien Fein the KKK or the Black Muslims I think the censorship of Hitler or Stalin, who had radios made that only recieved Soviet stations would be the death knell of our freedom

  • oops i missed the very beginning nevermind :)

  • i think that fat person at the beginning was pregnant not over mcdonaldified

  • this is our country. why are we letting people burn our flag lets fight back

  • This reminds me of my old Al-Tha3le, old good times, keep up the great work.

  • Great video, and so true ! Oh, for those days to return. I am going to show this to my kids.

  • The best Country. The best Party. The best video.

  • I've lived in Britain for a while, travel around in this great nation.

I miss Great Britain very, very much.

  • I've lived in Britain for a while, just traveled around.

I miss it very, very much.

  • bloody hell this makes me choke up and almost cry.

  • 1Kewldude,

What a fantastic activist the Bnp has lost, but ill always be your friend mate ;o)

    TMW

  • I read about a Britain who had an empire and owned its own mainland instead of prostituting to fat american buisnessmen

  • God you have made me feel OLD! Born in England in 1959 this video is SO true!

  • What is name of the song please? :)

  • fantastic video , really , it really make me think back :)

  • Yanks are in the same pickle that the Brits are in. We're in the same boat. The SS FuckedOver.

  • all those that luv 2 b british ADD ME

  • This is so true. I was born in 1949 and agree with everything stated here.

    Those were the days!

You spoiled it though with the political bit at the very end. No need for that.

  • This is so true. I was born in 1949 and agree with everything stated here.

    Those were the days.

    100% spot on!

  • I'm an American born in 1954 and I can attest to all this, too; what in hell happened?

Oh well, technology has determined a lot of how we live, I would suppose but one important point was how a family could "make it" with but one bread-winner.

Since 1974 and certainly 1980, it's all been "down-hill" for middle-class people; I don't care what any politician and/or bureaucrat has to publicly utter about how we're "wealthier"; it's nonsense

  • great and true video exept the end BNP the glory days were in the empire days, and the empire had forigners in which the BNP hate and so they hate the empire and so hate the good times of britian.

  • Good video, I was born & raised in Oban, Scotland our "tree hut" was 50ft. up a tree lol.

  • Wow I must be old fashioned because thats what I do. My and my dad somtimes go shooting, handel lead bullets and eat a sandwich inbetween. Never g got harmed by a bit of lead. I Drink from the hose and eat what ever I accidently drop on the floor.

Ok there are a few modern twists. You can't build dens in Kingston (although me and my cousins do in yorkshire when I visit.

These bloody foreigners comehere and want us to adapt to them. They wanna come hear. Learn the imperial system!

  • AMERICA FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!

  • Hey i know know this is a weird question but i never really heard of any rapers from the uk is there like gangs there at all or is there like any rap artist there

  • @ 1:54....hmmmm! Was that taken in Leeds, Hunslet to be exact?

  • If there are British people out there who want to see their country how it used to be, learn about eDemocracy.

Turn your opinion into action. Turn your passion into power.

  • @eDemocracyUK Its fucked up

  • Ha you make it sound like it was good. I dont under stand how riding in a car without a seatbelt is a good thing? you really dont understand health and safety nah just kidding. your right health and safetys gone a bit far

  • Way-Hay!, GREAT wording on the vid, Reminded me well of growing up (You forgot putting fireworks in bottles) Surely someone else has done that and had the bottle explode?

Spent a day picking fragments out of my face but no scars and luckily missed my eyes.

  • way hay i had air guns when i was 9 years old , me and my mates used to rabbiting and shooting all day long in the summer holidays, never a word said . in fact you would get older folk showing you the way to do it .

  • V Nostalgic! made me think back! nice vid

  • Excellent vid,,why can;t it be this way now....i grew up in the 80s but i think half of this was theres still :)

  • @1kewldude2 Because it looks fun to look at in all its glory. ;) lol.

  • It's a shame that racist morons have jumped on this video's bandwagon as to me it isn't about that all. The video is nostalgic and a bit simplistic about things being 'better', but still made me smile for my childhood.

The values that I learnt growing up utterly rejects the BNP and it's like.

  • As an American.. watching this was interesting.. Other a few of the names and foods mentioned. The video could be said the same for the US..

I hope your once great nation is able to save itself... UN-BAN Michale Savage and reclaim the England of old.

Many is the US are fighting to prevent the same from happening here under our current administration.

  • @TheDonofMMA I doubt it :-)

I'm a Savage fan and watch all his vids, The only thing that upsets the British politicians is Savage tells the truth (and ANY politician here that does that here is classified *racist*)

Thankfully, The bitch faced weasle that banned Michael is now out herself (Sadly more of the same *We love Muslims* mob are back in)

  • This is the world I absoultely crave to go back too. I was born in the 80s, great decade and the 90s were my growing up years. Not a bad times though but not as good as those years go by, I imagine

    x

  • Back in the day we could keep our doors unlocked at night and not have to worry about people breaking in and stealing and hurting us. Now we lock them over fifty times before going inside.

  • It's not that controlled for all kids. I'm 16 now, and when I was younger I was an expat, and for entertainment I'd go and fly kites, swim with friends, ride bikes. I'd slide down sand dunes on snow scoops, stand up in an open topped jeep my parents owned.

The only TV I watched until I broke a bone falling out of a tree was CNN, and the only game Pinball. I'd sail, get trapped underwater, knocked out by the boom.

  • Nice.

I'm sixteen, and up until I was ~10, the only TV I watched was CNN, and the only computer game I played was Pinball.

It was so much perfect. I'd go out to the dunes out the back of the compound (I was an expat) and fly kites. I'ld run round to friends houses and ride bikes and eat mud pies. Never got an air gun, though.

  • I like this, but i'm not sure about all the knuckle dragging racists jumping on it, what if one of the kids in those photo's was black, if he was born in britain he is british. Anyway I don't want to make this a race debate, just that this was a nice video regardless of what skin colour was involved :)

  • Respect.

  • same thing in germany

  • you lucky bastards I was born in the 1980,s and it sucked all the way till now.

  • And the most important thing! NOT ONE BLACK OR ASAIN FACE!NOW WE HAVE A SHOWER OF HUMAN S**T

  • @UKPatriotsFan I think you'll find that there were quite a few black and asian faces maybe not as many as we see now, However, what's skin colour got to do with it? This is a video about how Britain has become a nanny state where children are no longer free as they used to be, it's not a video spreading racial hatred. Take your irrational hatred down to your nearest BNP meeting, don't vomit that bullshit all over a video trying to make a different and infinitely more valid point.

  • Nice video!NOT AN M-PEG! :)

I remember fish and chips wrapped in newspaper!YUMMIE!!!!!!!!

  • One of the best I have seen ARRYLAD

Bring back lots of happy memories.

    Especially the lovely Mary Hopkins!!

  • I don't get it...

We should go outside and start eating dirt?

  • lol nice, wish i grew up a bit less tamed and in a world where everythings handed to me on a golden plate. The gvernmont screwed it up we might be called britian but the old britian is dead. I never got a share of it and i won't ever. I'm 15, Everyhting's all law abiding nowhere days. There has never really been a good government, If i where priminister so much would change that the everything should be back to normal. =D

  • @skiny998 Im also 15 and the only place i feel free is in devon, where there are no foreigners and everybody is friendly....

  • class mate made me smile alot but gotta say its the police thats made people the way they are...if they were honest about what they investigate then people wouldn't have the need to lie for their kids....the rest was class

  • aye too true

  • My God , this video made me remember my childhood , mostly spent in my grandparents house in a transilvanian vilage , near the mountains , such great times , we(me and my friends) used to walk 3 km just to fish , in the oposite direction another 3 km to a pool , where we used to swim (ice cold mineral water right from the spring), in the winter it was heaven on earth , all the forrests , hills and mountains WHITE , i took the sledge in the morning and came after 10 hours . Now all is different .

  • Born late 70's here but feel a lot still applies to me. How the world has changed!

  • oh i remember the go-karts still got the scars now that was a laugh

  • YES SIR...LOL cool clip man.

  • Vote British National Party!

  • VOTE BNP

  • Spot on. That was my childhood - apart from the cricket! We have shinty up here. I honestly feel sorry for kids now. They don't have the opportunity to enjoy a childhood - they're cosseted until they're about 12, then they're expected to become grown-ups.

My entire family and relatives have migrated from the mainstream parties and are going to be voting for the only party that might make a difference.

  • Thanks a lot for the video. Brilliant. The words just went across a bit too fast. Vote BNP

  • Brilliant video. Thanks a lot, the words just went a bit fast that's all. Vote BNP

  • I personaly hate mordern britain. Everything is so 100% controlled. I envy your childhood!

  • Excellent Video!!!!!!! Absolutely right no!! Made me remember growing up quite a bit. I'm a yank and we did the exact same things here just different names for stuff (slingshots as opposed to catapults etc.)

  • We Brits love you damn Yankees.........lol ! Thanks for the comment hunni !

  • @1kewldude2 Same thing in Canada!

  • @1kewldude2 Man i hope to visit Great Britain one day.

  • @1kewldude2 See, your cool about it... we helped you guys in a ton of stuff, so don't hate the Yanks for the horrible stuff that our Government has done....

  • @IWIN888 I dont Brother !

  • i totaly agree with everything in this video

  • I think SummerHerald means that people who grew up in those times are now politicians and in the goverment (only some) and now theyve made it so we grow up kinda like that. am i right SummerHerald?

  • Thanks deldred69 for sharing. I have seen this, very apt. - Yes like we were saying PC P***. LOL

  • You have brought back some great memories. It's not the kids who are spoilt nowadays its the parents who want to "give their kids a better life than they had". B**llocks, Health & Safety has ruined this country. Kids cannot even conkers in some schools.

  • appology to weedgee hit the wrong thumb

  • good vid dude took me back,i used to make my own fun ,if i had nothing to do i always had a tree to climb, made my own catapult or played in the woods for hours alone,i would like my kids to have taste of this life, not stuck with they faces into a laptop or phone, bnp all day long lets get it back.

  • Cheers wari, you have mail m8 !

† In Hoc Signo Vinces †

  • @warichunt1 Your kids have a laptop so you support BNP? That's a complete non-sequirit, you are an idiot.

  • @warichunt1 im 100% sure that this election was fucking rigged...The bnp have over 1m members on there website and they only recieved 500k votes?Yeah i dont fuckin think so..

  • @warichunt1 NO HELL NO!.

    its way wose back then!

my mum had to work 2 jobs and her mum and dad only gambled!

and my mums sisters all had to get jobs as well!

(apart from 1 who stayed home and cooked and kept the house clean)

so i find it WAY more fun and better if we just keep it the way it is!.

  • Great Britain is miniature Island version Mediaeval Europe.

  • @cltcwarlord3

I live in Yorkshire and its all still here, just avoid the areas where large populations of third-world colonisers have been housed because the streets in those areas rapidly degenerate into areas that resemble where they came from. Its not their fault, its our government who desperately need to dilute our population with voters who have no concept of questioning and opposing the authorities to demand freedom and gender equality.

  • @Andybabez good point but they would not be coming if there were not better jobs and opportunities and if the West lets its population shrink with a less than replacement level birth rate there is no other obvious solution here in the US many are screaming about the Mexican avalanche changing the face ot this nation but at least there's no danger of sharia law in the future this way so maybe we should be thankful, the future is coming at us faster than ever and ever changing I can only hope

  • check out the following YT video

"theres nothing british about the uaf"

  • Britain was great? Hard to believe.

  • hard to believe?we had the greatest empire in history and we owned america and it took the french and the dutch to earn your indepence and now you call for our help un iraq and afghanistan .

  • Born 1972. I was born early enough to still taste something of the Britain in this video, and feel so lucky, kind of like seeing the sunset years before Britain fell into the shadow of multiculturalism, political correctness and over-regulation.

  • yeah, the labour scum nanny state has destroyed everything great about our country.

  • A lot of this was true even as late as the 1970's. I remember parents evenings at school (most people had two then) and the fathers (we still had fathers then) had jobs. The jobs were part of their identity. Teachers were individuals and one old boy held our attention for hours with stories about the war or stories from the Old Testament. There was discipline. ADHD had not been invented. Also we only had fireworks on 5th November-not for the entire month of November.

  • @hernhillrebel

True, the fear of a clip round the ear innoculated most of us from that deadly ADHD that seems so prevalent these days. A byrpoduct of that was that we paid attention and actually learned things in school, instead of learning how to get our teacher prosecuted for 'violating mour human rights'.

  • really good vid...im american and this is really just a modern age thing and is very universal and not so specified to England (except for a few cultural aspects of GB). I agree with it so much.

  • VOTE BNP Its all weve got left to save us were going down the pan faster and faster these muslims and the eaastern europeans see it we need to organise are selfs quick else were fucked. time for labour to go to hell there torys two face cunts time for town citys to go up in flames

  • bnp have become the final choice, normal people thinking well we tried these we tried these they didnt work. bnp isnt the way tho griffin is amateur in world affairs. it wouldnt work. you would find the country in a shit state worse than you could imagine. i keep my vote to myself, its mine why would i give it to any of the parties? they all lie

untill somebody takes over and brings positives in every aspect.

ppl say my votes a waste? maybe but if they lie which they do it would still be a waste

  • @weeddegree

If you don't like Griffin then join the BNP and vote for a better leader. Their policies however are the only ones with a chance of preserving our country's freedoms in the face of creeping Islamification and the undemocratic and unaccountable EU.

  • @MyShauney

Islam is deadly to non-believers and political correctness is disabling our ability to recognise and oppose the threat it poses to our freedoms. People are waking up at last but it sure is taking a looong time. I think the realisation Britain will be a muslim majority country in a few decades is finally getting people worried enough to vote BNP.

If the BNP are illegitimately squashed by the state the true British will resort to far more 'traditional' methods of restoring democracy.

  • Bravo!

  • I mean our tiny well to do Island has a bigger economy than the entrie south american region......think how they live, and now look at how brits live......I think Brits have become so depressed at our decline in the world stage (no longer being top bull dog) that we over look just how good we got it.......and yes we still are one of only 5 Great Powers on earth still so great Britain isnt over yet

  • Britain is Great!!, but like all new ages (like todays tech age) people over do it!!!

hence the world is tech mad!! but its just a spell, things will eventualy change with time and kids will realise there is infact an out doors.......its already started.....people are becomeing more aware that this fanatical age for tech is un healthy

But Britain will allways be Great.......but I suppose its the British way...to moan hehehe

Britain has alot to be proud of and our people to be glad of

  • listen up , i live in the usa not through choice bu through the fact i cannot find employment that i need in the uk saying that , id like nothing more to get back to british culture which i will in the future i make the money here but there is no culture here like we have in britain and we may speak the same language but we dont really 5 more years here and im back to the island of god

  • il tell you what happened to old britain immigration happened no one knows each other anymore no one offers to help ther neighboors how are you supposed to get to know youre neighboor when they speek polish or arabic how many of you have shovled the snow off youre elderly neighboors path and checked they are ok how many of you are going to church to make sure that christianity stays the main religion in britain old britain has gone and even the pople who miss it wont do anything about it :(

  • I grew up then, and it was still as violent as it is now, depends where you grew up..............

  • There are currently an estimated five million adults in the UK with a reading age of 11 or less

  • @Ramble1212 Your pooint being?

  • Fantastic stuff,it brought a tear to my glass eye!!5 **

  • come to australia its still like that ....oh wait don't we want it to stay that way

  • children grow up today with Bullying violent movies , porn, and terror. The childhood I new we used our imagination now its sitting in front of a computer game or a computer surfing and leaving swearing messages or insults or recieving them as well as the dangers of the internet scum lurking in the background.

Childhood is threatend by the revelution of the 60s and we will rue the day it happend.

  • I almost cried when i saw this video society is not as i used to know it and its not as safe. Also there is no freedom for children like we had. I would hate to be a child today or a teenager it must be hard for them to understand what makes a better society and its because they have so much to do with the computer and computer games they are missing a great childhood. To day they grow up in a violent society with violent films and games as well as porn and terror.

  • The funny thing is this is exactly what my mom and dad tell me about their childhood except we live in America.

  • remember when we could say anything without being called a racist

  • i know just beacause i think that Islam has evil characteristics e.g. the misstreatment of women i am a racist? sigh

  • @MrMental09 No ya not, islam is not a race m8!

† In Hoc Signo Vinces †

  • @1kewldude2 look i have more cool signs then you :3

    ▲ ♥♫ ☻☺ ▌☆

  • remember when you could say anything without being called a racist

  • Why is the St. George's cross considerd racist???

  • Revolution is the only answer,we have muslims destroying everything our forefathers created for us african beast polluting as they go.and lets not forget the backwards liberals that have turned this world upside down, the sad part is we are just as responsible because we chose to do nothing, now we are fighting for one last breath before we vanish in history our image ruined and legacy forgotten, stand up and take back the west and save the world from darkness, fight for the right to exist !

  • Well said Sir !

  • The BNP is for bringing in non-Whites to rape your White women and destroy your cities, just like every other party! If you Brits don't stop supporting nonsense like the BNP your country will be a Muslim and non-White shithole with Whites dead or enslaved. Forget the BNP, support the Insurgent and save the White race!

    Go to:

    resist dot com

  • BRITAIN THE GREATEST :D

  • This is what it was like for the lower class.

  • all thats over goverment currpot an you cant walk the streets at night without the fear of getting killed, mugged or anything

  • vite bnp

  • you forgot to mention that you were british then..

not many real brits today :/

  • You have just insulted me, yes there is real brits about, and we welcome anyone from the world who want to be true brits also, because that is what we are, a ship for truth, not bullshit,

  • Yes I do remember, born in1960 and its all true lol. Vote BNP

  • The last few comments have really made me laugh out loud. Superb entertainment manyhighhills. Oh and btw ... I 100% agree!

  • Appreciate the comments

  • I do try, some say I am very trying. But we shouldn't have picked on Iceland in the seventies with their cod- what the heck was going on there, still baffles me? But they've messed themselves up now with investing money in gawd knows!

  • ...and hopefully we will always get proper fish and chips in this country, as long as we stop those slimey spannish trawlers nicking our cod from our seas. They are right cunts, there is no reasoning with such brainless fucks, not like us Brits. Save the Brit fishing fleet, we have sea all around us after all, unlike that cunt Spain. Bastards.

  • And do not get me started about them nicking our beautiful prawns from our seas with their huge, and totally not cricket, nets, The bastards!

  • well done the real good old days

  • When has nationalisation ever worked?

  • When the country is skint, as what had to be done by the Bank of England to some of our banks recently, nationalise some of them, after they dabbled in investing in fresh air in the US.

  • I disagree, losses do not just go away, they will now be felt by the taxpayer and through growing inflation, the banks should have gone bankrupt. Those stupid enough to keep their savings in a bank like northern rock deserve to lose a portion of their wealth as do investors in those banks. Taking assets from the competent and giving them to the incompetent so they can compete with them is idiotic and will result in greater pain in the long run.

  • Their were many factors at work, the debt, the dabasement of sterling and programs like the universal healthcare system. The nationalisations by the labour government put off foreign investment unlike other countries which embraced the freemarket model like Japan which thrived as a result. All this further adds to the obvious reality that the BNP is a far left socialist party of idiots who have a severly unrealistic and idiotic view of Britains past.

  • You forgot to mention the cost of offloading India and other parts of the Empire. And nationalisation had to happen, due to the European economy was in shreds, due to lost markets due to WWII again.

  • Actually Buddy they are socialists, if you read their economic and social policies they are most definitely socialist. They are a far left, centralising anti-free market socialist party. Check it out Twerp, or to be concise idiotic twerp.

  • For all you old people get a life, the BNP are socialists and would if given the chance destroy our economy. They would overtax foreign investment and bankrupt the country the fifties was a great period of shame for Britain, who mentions the loss of the Suez and many of our colonies. While we were being rationed by a socialist government and you were all playing in bomb craters America and its free market policies made it the greatest nation on earth.

  • BNP are Nationalists you twerp, Hilter, Lib Dems, Nu Labour the u.a.f are Socialists Facists. !

† In Hoc Signo Vinces †

  • Get your history right- it was the Second World War that made us broke from the late 1940s on, we were in hoc to the yanks for decades and were totally skint, more or less. It has only been about 8 years since we finished paying off loans from the yanks because of WWII.

  • damn good vid mate thx ...kal

  • Brought back a few memories that did. just goes to show how much damage has been done to our society in recent years by do-gooding,handwringing,nannying liberals, Ken Livingstone,Harriet Harman & many others like them should be ashamed of themselves, Great Britain is in a very sorry state. sad!

  • The simple fact of the matter, is that the tories are living in the past times of pillageing of British Empire, or later anywhere they chance it. Any alternative to them is a fair choice, as long it is not too extreme.....

  • pmsl..was born in 50;s memories..thank you..xxxxx

  • this vid wasn't too bad until 5:00 when i realised it was a political propoganda vid...

    1 star

  • if you watched it until then you must have liked it.

  • i did like it

i'd prefer it if it was cut short at 5:00 as there's plenty of non-BNP sympathisers that share the message upto that mark in the vid.

btw, i'm not a BNP man.

  • Bet you go to your anglian church every Sunday, and get sand in your ears. Take your head out of the sand and try and live life in present day 2009. Just a suggestion. BNP are a bit mad at the moment, but I like the debate they cause. Fair play to them.

  • Get it out in the open I say.

  • anglican even..... keyboard fingers....
