So, I finally got to go to Nome! I loved it. The people are so nice and friendly!!!!This video shows some of the charm of Nome, but it still seems to be missing a lot of what Nome really has to offer!!If you can, please go. You will not regret it.
This is a horrible representation of Nome. I grew up there and I know for a fact what Nome has to offer. Get some more information before posting something so meaningless!!
Granted, Nome has a lot of interesting Alaska history and has a great small town atmosphere. I have spent a lot of time in Nome for work and the people that I know in Nome love the town. I wasn't a tourist in Nome and didn't make this video pretending to be one. Let's be honest. If I wanted to make a video that was a horrible representation of Nome then there are a lot of places I could have gone and shown. I will save Nome from listing all of its problems that I could have showed in my video.
Wonder how come Nome never got connected with the rest of the state by road, and Nome has roads leading out of town, but unless they finally put asphalt on them, you can't go far!
I agree with dotte...showing more of the town, and less of that cold war-era communications station, would have been a better use of the video. And perhaps a quieter music bed than a B-52s song, along with perhaps some descriptions of what was being seen. Nome has so much to offer of its gold rush and 1925 serum run history. Anvil Mountain has Anvil Rock. St. Joseph's Church and the "Three Lucky Swedes" statues you rushed by. Meh...
is that someone's dinner @ 4:00??? are there any dance clubs, or amusement park???? ANYTHING besides hunting and berrry picking?

I notice weird things. At 4:53 there's a Wells Fargo Bank. Nice to know whenever I visit Nome, my ATM card has a home.

Wells Fargo is a very common bank in the Alaska Bush villages, where there are enough residents to support it.
