His voice is wonderful but either this song is not doing him justice or he's not doing the song justice. It is very difficult to remake any of the songs MJ was involved with though because they are really tailored to his voice and delivery.
I enjoyed the Swedish performance more - there was just something more honest about it - more soulful - this was still a lovely performance - but the other one was just more raw and showed his vocal skills off way more than this.
Once I got over the novelty of this, and allowing for Cornell's excellent singing, I wasn't really that impressed. The rest of the group doesn't sound very inspired to me.
It's pretty obvious that Billy is saying "you know music is going downhill when a band with a heavy sound like Audioslave is covering one of the The King of Pop's greatest hits..." It's a matter of taste I guess. Seems like today is the day that the stars of the 80s-90s take digs at the bands of today. Frank Black commented on Weezer and now Billy on Audioslave... It's pretty obvious that Billy is saying "you know music is going downhill when a band with a heavy sound like Audioslave is covering one of the The King of Pop's greatest hits..." It's a matter of taste I guess. Seems like today is the day that the stars of the 80s-90s take digs at the bands of today. Frank Black commented on Weezer and now Billy on Audioslave... IMHO it kinda sounds kind of like The Scorpions doing MJ, lol
