What a lot of people don't seem to understand is that despite the speed of his playing, there is still a lot of musicality involved. Even though the arpeggio's are a million notes a second Rusty still has a melody in there......very difficult to make melodies with sweep arpeggio's!!

how the hell is someone supposed to play that!!!! i think he should teach people how to sweep pick first; i think sweep picking is the hardest thing to learn on guitar, but thats just me talking.
It's awesome because when I think "riff" I usually don't think about arps at 400bpm or whatever in 12th position, but somehow it ended up being really metal.
He warms up simply as a good practice. I've seen him play completely cold and my jaw almost fell off. The guy is amazing to a degree you can't even gauge just by seeing his videos or listening to his music. In person he's flawless.

how the hell is someone supposed to play that!!!! i think he should teach people how to sweep pick first; i think sweep picking is the hardest thing to learn on guitar, but thats just me talking.

It's awesome because when I think "riff" I usually don't think about arps at 400bpm or whatever in 12th position, but somehow it ended up being really metal.

He warms up simply as a good practice. I've seen him play completely cold and my jaw almost fell off. The guy is amazing to a degree you can't even gauge just by seeing his videos or listening to his music. In person he's flawless.

Thanks Rusty I really feel that I can play that now! Getting it up to speed would be crazy but the arpeggios aren't completely impossible.

i love watching this stuff because i watch the "this is how it should sound part," and then i put my guitar down for a week or two and cry.
