  • can anyone find out who this kid was, and where he is now?

  • @WisdomThroughLogic that's austin o'brien from my gir 2 and the lawnmower man movies.

  • @robertcruz1 ohhhhh wow your right! thanks for that!

  • that's the most well-dressed circuit city employee EVER

  • @OneTonGarage he could have been the CEO in a cameo. who knows

  • Was this from the Los Angeles market? I remember a 92.3 The Beat back there, along with Power 106 (actually 105.9 MHz but w/e).

  • This was back in the day whe commercials were more personable. Nowadays, commercials are programmed and edited for the A.D.D generation..

  • omg I actually remember this commercial as a kid wow

  • what was that radio station ad all about? lol

  • What was that all about in the first seconds lol XD

  • my best freind knew austin o brien back in the early 90s they went to the same church he said he was cool guy.

  • when i worked at Circuit City, they had a training video with an alternate take of what not to do. When the kid hands him the receipt, creepy music kicks on and the guy gets angry and tells the kid to get the hell out of the store--wish to hell i could find the clip on youtube!!

  • I remember seeing this commercial as a little kid and not knowing what the hell it was about. I just thought that CC was giving out free money!

  • I remember this commercial great memories.the thing

is I pretty much always remembered circuit city but I cant

pinpoint when I first heard of best buy circuit city is still

    num 1 to me

  • I remember this commercial!

  • I remember when this commercial aired regularly on TV...I also remember when Circuit City's tag-line was "The intelligent choice"

  • i never thought CC would go out if business.RIP CC

  • Me and my friends would have jacked that kids walkman.

  • @GnarlsOakley Shure u would. :P

  • Isn't he the boy from Last Action Hero and My Girl 2?

  • @Admercial yea thats him, cant remember his name tho

  • @yungkidnf His name is Austin O'Brien.

  • @ChrisC11291980 thank you

  • Damn, The dad could at least have given him a ride to the store.

  • @lduenas How funny! I was thinking the same thing!! It would have taken the dad 2 minutes or so to at least drive him to the store...I guess he had to watch his game...priorities you know! LOL!! Commercial brings back memories...those walkmans look like dinosaurs now!!

  • did the kid get home safely...??!!

  • @dddsoto He got jumped by walmart employees on the way home

  • See kids, back in the day, refunds and returns, didn't require receipts...

  • I heard they maybe back. They are online.

  • YES! I've been looking for this commercial for years! I was just about this kid's age when this commercial aired and all of my friends of the same age really related to this kid. This is ridiculously awesome! Thanks for posting!!!

  • Annnnnndddd bankruptcy!

  • *sigh* I miss the '90s. Some things about it weren't that great, but all in all, I think they were wonderful times and some of the happiest years of my life. If I had a time machine, I'd go back in an instant. 2010 just isn't that great.

  • "Welcome to Circuit City: Where service is state of the Art."

    Really remember that tune. ^_^

    And great commercial.

  • I remember this when i was a kid and thinking "circuit city is handing out walkmans and money???!!!" I was pretty dumb

  • Don't worry, I thought the same thing too when I saw this commercial as a kid. I also thought if you brought in a newspaper, they'd give you money :P

  • man we should have jumped the paperboy and cashed in !!

    xD

  • @zacatetas Nah man, I would have thought the same thing!

  • wow i have been looking for this commercial for a long time, it is actually the first circuit city commercial i had seen

  • wow, i remember watching this commercial and how jealous i was with this kid having that cool yellow walkman.

  • when circuit city went under, i was somewhat broken up...

    no lie.

  • I love how the kid's dad didn't offer him a ride and he had to actually walk on the highway to get to the circuit city

  • now a dad would go into circuit city and raise h*ll until everyone heard him and ask for his money back plus keeping the item plus suing the company for emotional distress.

  • ahhaha that's how tough it is in the 90's.

  • i worked at circuit city and it didn't always go down like that.

  • This was one of my favorite commercials from the 90s. I miss CC. RIP

  • Wow a whole dime .COOL!

  • wow i rememberd this!! Hah

  • The kid looks like the one from Last action Hero with Arnie.

  • @theshow2k8 That IS him, believe it or not.

  • Heyyyy, that's not Circuit City, there was a guy working the counter. I never saw that at a real CC.

  • haa. that out of place dub "PLUS!! 10%"

  • i think that kid is Austin O'Brien. Hes the kid actor that was in the films "Last Action Hero" & "My Girl 2".

He was born in 1981 so he looks 11 here so i would assume this was from 1992.

  • that was filmed at the circuit city in the san gabriel valley by the 60 frwy.

  • RIP Circuit City

  • LOL i remember this from when I was little. Crazy.

  • That kid's dad is a real dick, making him walk all the way to CC, crossing the freeway to boot.

  • LOL! I just realized that! That dad really is a dick. He's like "fuck you son, take that cassette player back yourself and get your 75 cent"

  • LMFAO!!

  • @wdc2998

That's how i felt, plus kid walked 5 or 10 miles through L.A. kinda crazy.

  • Remember yesterday

    walkin' hand-in-hand

    love letters in the sand

    I REMEMBER YOU!

  • This commercail was on the air for most of the 1990s.

If I remeber it correctly the last time I saw it on television was around 1999.

  • And you know the result of you guys giving money back to customers?

    YOU'RE GONE NOW!

Oh, how I'll miss you Circuit City....

  • Can you post the full radio ad with the fat dude? That used to be on constantly.

  • I remember this one. How sad that we are no longer. Im gonna miss everyone.

  • that music was gnar kill.

  • This makes me extremely sad:( I cant believe this is actually happening to us!:(

  • Not only do I remember the circuit city commercial, but I also remember the first one. The dancing fat guy got some good fifteen minutes of fame out of it.

  • my sister still has one of those walkmans in a box full of stuff i wonder if it still works....

  • This is their best commercial ever, from way back when. And people STILL don't know about that guarantee.. up to this day! Wow, I bought my first walkman after seeing that commercial back when I was in school. RIP

  • RIP Circuit City

  • ♫ welcome to circuit city ...

♫ where service is state-a-the art

I watched this video just to hear that gay jingle. I set out to hear it. Only after it began to play did I remember the actual commercial.

I love how men & fathers used to be protrayed as having some level of testosterone in their veins not 15 years ago. Now men are shown as bumbling boobs and father figures are pussy whipped efete she-men on virtually every ad you see. Sick society we live in..

    But snazzy jingle!

  • First of all, I love the last part. Which is the most memorable music I've ever listened!! However, my favorite store, Circuit City, "de-charged" because of that stupid squishy-soft economy we have now. RIP Circuit City!! So many memories. <;_-(, T_T, and ~~~~(-_-)~~~~

  • holy shit !!!I actually remember this commercial

  • You are right, mphlohi, the kid is Austin O'Brien! Johnny tell him what he won!

Johnny: Congratulations, mphlohi! You've won a brand new 2009 Ford Fusion, an iPhone, an iPod, and a Playstation 3 worths packaging for $45,980!

  • This IS the most memorable commercials from the 1990s! ; )

  • Holy crap! That commercial was always on during cartoons. It's stuck in my head.

  • Is that kid really Jonathan Taylor Thomas from "Home Improvement"?

  • Either that or maybe it's Austin O'Brien.

  • no this was the kid who played along side arnold in "last action hero"

  • you're ALL right!!

  • This really fits with what I was posting too! How cool someone else decided to archive commercials too - thanks a lot. I remember that ad as well. - Jonathan (jmtrexler)

  • classic!
