  • Is there any way to make sure that the person invited to the hang out does not invite a third person without the permission of the first person?

  • Hi, @arihahn. Thanks for your question! We performed a preliminary test yesterday. I started a hangout that only included Meri and asked her to invite another. When she did, I didn't receive a message indicating she had invited anyone. Meri received confirmation that her invite was posted. However, nobody at the invite receiving end was available to test whether the hangout invite worked. We'll give it a go today and report back. Thanks again for your question ~ Tom

  • @arihahn -- Okay, just finished the experiment. There's NO way to make sure that the person invited does not invite a third person without the permission of the first.

Three experimenters: Meri, Wendell, and Tom (me).

    PROCEDURE:

    1. Meri made a circle with only Wendell in it.

    2. Meri started a hangout with her "Wendell" circle and Wendell joined.

    3. Wendell invited Tom to the hangout via the "invite" button, and Meri didn't know until Tom popped in.

  • And next time I promise to wear clothes, so it won't be such a shock when I pop in!

  • I've got a new undershirt on Tom, so I'm ready to hang-out
