@deezynar Because it was fun and had never been done before and to prove a point, that it could be done. The tour has ended just over 2 weeks ago, but there is a lot of video's, pictures and blog posts online. Just do a search for "ROAM" or "Roll over America".
The drivers there are much better then here, in Newcastle Australia, here they would be impatient and run you over. I hate it here. I wish I lived in the Netherlands.
I'm looking forward to learning more about velomobiles as you travel across the States. I wish you very pleasant riding and great experiences. Does everyone in your group speak Dutch or German? (I know there are American riders as well from the US) I will try to bring my Dutch friend along if needed to translate if we come to Chicago.
@c33r0k33 To talk to a Dutch speaking person (other then the ones from our group) will be a pleasant change. But I believe we all can speak English including the Germans (some better than others). So understanding each other won't be a problem I think. Keep my website and/or the rolloveramerica.eu site in your favorites, there will be updates along the way (I think). See you in Chicago.
Why did you guys want to ride across the United States?

Avec mon Alleweder, et mes faibles cuisses, je n'arriverais pas à vous suivre. Vous êtes trop rapides !
Alleweder met mijn en mijn zwakke benen, kon ik nooit houden. Je bent te snel!

@Andres0869 You can (search for 'velomobiel' or 'velomobile', made in The Netherlands), but they're quite expensive. Fun to ride though. ;-)
