I doubt I'm right, but the way I always saw it was that the reason you got stronger when you went without drinking blood was because you became more and more hungry for it which changed you more and more into a vampire. When you drink blood it kinda just calms down your body and the desire is gone so you become a bit more human. But I'm probably wrong :P
umm vampires dont EAT people they just drink there blood and it doesnt really harm the person that mutch if the vampire only drinks a cup full the average human body has 2 cartons of milk so i think they should be alright :)

You actually did notice when you contracted it. I think it was the one that you got the glass greaves off of that got you. You did, however, spend at least twenty minutes after that trying to fight and then run away from elder vampires, so it's not too surprising you forgot.

Perhaps you could find away to work this into the character. I think if you only drink the blood of one person on the first day of vampirism you only become a weak sort of mild vampire. Perhaps it would be interesting to have a character in self conflict about who he is and what he has become. However, I am aware that you probably already played much more then we've seen. :P

I think Oblivion did make the right choice concerning this issue. But I agree that there should be a point of no return. In Oblivion this should be the moment when you´ve reached the last stage of vampirism but still haven´t fed for a long time. So to speak: the beast defeated the human. This would also explain why there are so many rogue vampires in Oblivion. I hope you got my thought. Keep up the good work.
I disagree. A vampire has to struggle with its inner beast. The less you try to keep that inner beast under control by satisfying it needs the stronger the urge of it coming forth and robbing all of your left humanity. I played Vampires-The Masquerade for quite a while, which is unarguably the best RPG-System concerning kindred.
In VTM you´ll get enraged once your bloodpool is drained. You cannot control yourself any longer until you have preyed on someone. Friend of foe doesn´t matter.

That arch could've been for defensive purposes even without a gate I guess. Put archers on the top to watch over the town if it's getting invaded, you've got an extra line of defence, I bet a decent amount of the town can be shot at from up there.
