  • the producers only wanted one person to die... this was a pivotal moment in scrubs for the writers

  • This scene is so powerful... I love it. Scrubs forever-3

  • the song was perfect

  • Did they use how to save a life in scrubs <3 heww jeah ;)

  • I absolutely love this show...My favorite show of all time.

  • this makes me wonder why John McGinley is so tight cast, this is a great example of his acting ability

  • This is the best scene in Scrubs and I have watched them all twice.

  • i made a mistake in my post Ben's funeral is on season 3 episode 14 "my screw up" my bad. I put up this post about my mistake so that people don't comment on my post about Ben's funeral

  • i would say that either this or Ben's funeral in season 2 is the saddest ending on an episode of scrubs this episode shows how emotional dr.cox can be as well as been angry and sarcastic all the time this is clearly a great ending

  • this episode made Dr. Cox my favorite character. It showed someone who we consider cold, unlikable, and angry more human than anyone on this show.

  • @utboy92

Could not of said it better myself :)

    Thanks for posting this Blue

My lunch and the 2 episodes that followed where are and always will be in my top 5!!!!

  • Never felt truly sad from a televison show, and never expected Dr. Cox to have a breakdown. This is far and away the best episode of any show I've seen in my life. This was the point in the Scrubs series that made me realize it's true brilliance.

  • Easily one of the most powerful scenes ever put on tv.

  • A tip of the hat to u Perry

  • for some reason carls facial expressions in this scene always get me . the way she looks at dr cox with something almost like fear is pretty great acting

  • Scrubs is the most brilliant show ever made on this planet and deserves every kind of price on this planet.

  • Everytime I watch this, I cry a little. Greatest and saddest ending for a Scrubs episode, ever. :'(

  • Saddest scrubs ending ever!

  • :'(

  • "How To Save A Life" makes this even better of a scene. Makes the emotion hit home

  • omg, i actually cry every time i see this.

it is the best thing i have ever seen on tv ever.

  • John McGinley deserves an award for this piece!

  • this is my favourite scene ever in anything

  • ah c'mon give the guy a freakin' oscar, this scene is one of the greatest and most emotional in Scrubs history...

  • John aka Perry Cox should have won an award for his acting in this scene it is full of just raw emotion

  • AHHH THAT'S MY FAVORITE SONG ! <333

    Scrubs rocks. *-*

  • song?

  • Guess it´s "The Fray", song´s name: "How to save a life"...

  • this is one of the saddest moments in scrubs... i was so shocked when i saw it...

  • chills me to the bone, seems like somethings are set in motion and there is no stopping them........

  • This seriously gives me goose bumps =\.

    Amazing scene.

  • this is a seriously intense scene. At the end it sounds like even Zach Braff it starting to choke up

  • that was incredible performances from all the actors

    truly brilliant programme

  • scrubs is my favourite show and this is my favourite episode.

it´s amazing that we (at least I) always see Dr. Cox as the one who rants at other people especially JD, but when we see his sad side, it feels so lonely and depressing. I almost cried my eyes out with this ending.

Scrubs always chooses a great song to match with the moment.

  • The mark of a truly brilliant series is one that can take you into tears of laughter, yet still retain moments of such brutal reality to bring you close to tears of sadness. Scrubs is one such series, and this is one of the moment's that defines that point.

JCM deserves an Oscar for his performance in this episode.

  • best show ever

  • why is that chick looking at turk like this was all his fault?

  • She's not. Her expression is worried, like she's worried about how he feels on the inside.

  • m gf got me into scrubs. at first i thought it was strictly comedy, and i loved it. then she showed me scenes like this..... and i loved it even more. What a great show. Thanks for posting.

  • I love scrubs so much , just because it makes me feel happy, sad ,comfortable etc...That ending is the perfect example! Best ending ever !

  • Dr. Cox's voice from 2:35 to 2:45 is what chokes me up. This is my favorite episode--Scrubs is such a good series.

  • yeah

  • From 2:56 to the end made me cry when I saw this episode yesterday.

  • "How to save a Life" by The Fray

  • i like this episode, whats that song called?

  • This and the episode 'My Point of No Return' are really good, the other one's my fave though :P

  • still gives me chills.

  • one of my favorite endings even though it's serious one it's still brilliant!!

  • i crieddd when this was on

    best episode ever

    x

  • that is the single most amazing scrubs episode ever.

i think the way scrubs can contrast happy and sad moments within its episodes is amazing not like any over sitcom.

    brilliant work

  • y? it works, it makes it funnier in the long run because making jokes all the time in a hospital, never mind how funny, it makes it less realistic, adding tragety makes the whole show more rea, increasing the humor

  • Yes this is a great ending you need a little drama

  • I don't know what you mean, the contrast just makes it so much more real.
