it IS based on a true story. filmed in estonia, but story is based on a girl from just outside of kaunas, lithuania. simple to do the research. areas like at the beginning of this video are typical for the baltic countries. in ukraine most of the apartments seem to be taller and bigger. at least in the parts i am familiar with.
