  • Jonesy, gotta love him.

  • Sooo...When punk's done with complaining about society they commercialize themselves abusing a rock icon that could actually play an instrument.

It thought all those 40yr old farts still wearing black (and still complaining) would have learned to tune their instruments properly by now...So I guess you're right. Punk is not dead, it is still very well in their infantile stage.

  • Sadly, not all people have sense of humor. He is a great.

  • What the fuck.

  • So irate <3

  • Its Fuckin' A!

  • shut the fuck up!!!!

  • If you don't get this, you probably never will get punk rock. This is a real punk anthem...it punks the punks. If you get upset like a little girl, you are getting schooled.

  • Nossa!Ele não aprendeu nada sobre canto com Robert Plant?

  • John Paul Jones needs to put down the angry and work on his songwriting and recruit a new singer. How good a singer could someone from Zeppelin find if they try? What the fuck is his problem? Maybe there's a reason Page/Plant didnt contact him.

The bass playing, and production are great. Why is he pissed at punk rock. It ended in about 1980. Just because they hated Zeppelin, who cares.

  • Dennis Leary meets Lemmy....

  • God of the bass

  • bass line is brutal

  • 0:22 whats the symbol around his neck?

  • i'm not gay or anything close to it, but you know with all that hype back then about plant or page being such lookers, old jonesey was a pretty handsome devil himself.

  • @ozoneocean you are right and i was wrong to make that comment. i did catch myself 3 weeks ago after i made it if you look back. i did apologize, but i'll apologize again for all to see, i'm sorry.

  • didnt Rober Fripp contribute to this album ? I dont believe he is playing on this track but i think he plays on something

  • @Cincinnatus1869 Robert Fripp – guitar solo on "Leafy Meadows"

  • This has got to be the "occupy wall street's" (liberal left wingnuts) national anthem.lol

  • sounds like chas & dave ;-)

  • Comment removed

  • oops, sorry.

  • i must have missed something, like the video title, i was curious to see what he was upset about. irritating how these people drag you into a video, then its something or somebody else.

  • @tomcaat1 The title accurately describes what it is- John Paul Jones performing his song "Angry Angry".

  • This has got to be the "tea party's" (conservative right wingnuts) national anthem.lol

  • IT'S SATIRE, KIDS. IT'S FUCKING SATIRE.

He's calling corporate "punk" a fraud. And it is. You have made the angryangry millionaires because they can sneer and spit into a mic. Fucking foolish children.

  • @Ariel62073 I think he was just making fun of all punk rock at the time. You can see why- coming as he did from one of the hardest, heaviest rock bands of the era, and also having a wealth of overflowing skill, talent and experience, and there's these pimpled, greasy, swearing kids, with almost no skill or ability who merely imitate heavy sounds, screaming pointless lyrics filled with childish vitriol. To him they must have seemed particularly buffoonish and inadequate.

  • @Ariel62073 u are beating a dead horse . Humor is lost on the average rock fan I guess. Any rock song now has to be written by an ill adjusted manic depressive heroin addict whose Mother mistreated him .Thanks Cobain

  • This is so cheesy that it pones.

  • @TheGerminater You talk a pie riot but I'll bet ya butt up the flanges, eh..

  • John sounds like Lemmy

  • why is he mad

  • well, I enjoyed the pictures.

  • Wait is John the one singing?

  • jfnet4gergyh this is hilarious

  • Whoa jonesy giving the middle finger in 1:47 , I'm officially traumatized.

  • @fairyfellermaster lol me too!

  • @fairyfellermaster that means I'm/you're #1!

  • omg led zeppelin made punk!

  • Am I the only one who cannot stop laughing...? :)

  • I like it!!!!!!!!

  • That bass riff is killer!

  • SOunds like John Copper Clarke

  • im angry angry of hearing this song. xd

    jonesy!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is pretty much long to be a punk song.

  • i didnt knew that jonesy was a punk head. :)

  • Saw JPJones appear out of nowhere when he played LIVE with Heart on their "The Road Home" CD shows at the Backstage Tavern in Seattle (not the Video shows... they were later at the Moore Theatre in Seattle)... in about '96 I think.

    Nice surprise. ;-)

  • He's so cute

  • I like this. It made me smile. Killer bass + guitar, vaguely silly vocals. Reminds of some of Hawkwinds more heavy tunes for some reason. I've often felt JPJ puts his bass too low in the mix and needs to just plain show off some more. How can he still be so humble?, he rates high in the pantheon of greats and I'd love to see him do a thunderfingers. All that aside, a fun tune.

  • JPJ oughta smoked a few packs a day for a month, sucked on a car tail pipe, gargled with asphalt, and then imagined his mother being raped and children murdered.

THEN the voice might of sounded on point.

But sick instrumentals laid, and what else should we expect?

  • This song would be incredable, but I dont really like JpJ as a singer. Hes no doubt my favorite instrumentalist, but his voice just sounds silly.

  • this song is so punk rock awesome

  • all 4 zep's are what made them great, jpj, bozo, pagey and percy..... why is anyone surprised when one of them turns out an awesome solo venture? they are/were after all, led fucking zeppelin! do you expect sub par performances?? ZEP FOREVER!! And yeah, this sounds pretty punk..... luv ya JPJ

  • why does everyone always take music so seriously? its expression people.. not made to validate your personal tastes....

  • Bassmam,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I like this song lol its kinda hilarious especially the singing in contrast to the music Like monty python punk rock.

  • This is really JPJ?? woah

  • :D ahahhaha

    like

  • Damn listen to that Guitar!! And it is Jonesy doing the Guitar.

    :P

    Jimmy would be in shock!

    And I love his voice!

  • @XDownByTheSeaSideX Actually it's Adam Bomb playing guitar, at least for the solo.

  • @XDownByTheSeaSideX i thought it was adam bomb.

  • ENTWISTLE

  • Lol this song would actually be really good if they had entirely different lyrcis, and different singer :/ Robert Plant ftw!!!

  • I don't know what he was thinking or what he was on....but hilarity ensued. If he played with Ringo I think I'd explode.

  • @TheDocserge Thats for sure!

  • He sounds like he's a punk rocker, like Sheena.

  • this guy is a badass

  • THIS IS NOT JPJ. This sounds like JEREMY WADE

  • @zepliveson It's Jonesy.

  • siip

  • Led Zeppelin was playing punk riffs back when John Lydon was a scrawny little David Bowie fan. The Ramones stated they used to cover Communication Breakdown a lot. Butthole Surfers, Killing Joke, Black Flag, Quicksand and even more modern hardcore bands like Converge have cited Led Zeppelin as an influence.

  • @TheGreaterGood80 Butthole Surfers had Plant at one time, didn't they? Or was that JPJ?

  • @meshuggahismylife JPJ produced the BS's Independent Worm Saloon

  • He sang really well back then, well it seemed, He was the back up vocals in "Battle of Evermore"

  • @KingsField418 He would have been backing vocals on live "Battle of Evermore" , but that studio recording is the only Zeppelin song that had a singer outside of the group join ... Sandy Denny . So it was Plant and Sandy Denny singing Battle of Evermore back in 1971. She sadly died rather young.......by the way, this song "Angry Angry" is great - I love his almost Sex-pistols sounding voice sometimes and the humour in the lyrics

  • I smile so sweet then I attack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Who are the thirty jackoffs that put a thumbs down on JPJ you know that man has banged more women then all you fuck sticks combined you people should be ashamed of your selfs............

  • @elpndl94 most underrated musician: Brian Carrol

  • A little like sex pistols.

  • Funny...his reposte to '79 'punks' ,with their angry for angry's sake.

  • the best

  • @skoorb33 well u shoul buy some musicians to create songs that just you like

    what an idiot

you would cut half of the song "echoes" by pink floyd too if you could

  • i actually love his voice...

i guess its because i like ozzy

  • im angry angry

  • This guy is my inspiration to be a musician! He is absolutely ace...

  • He should be in the Kinks, not Dead Zeppellin

  • @40hourworkweek

    You should shut up.

  • CUT YOU QUITE DANGEROUSLY

  • Better than Roger Waters' singing.......

  • This is beautiful! John Paul Jones is very guitar person, or i say baixista ducaralho!

    Do you know?

  • he has a strange accent...

  • sounds like roger--of the who --daltry----hes crazy in this, so funny, hes got nothin too lose that baldwin

  • sounds like roger--of the who --daltry

  • SIS VICIOUS???

  • its great, but realy it sounds like punk.

  • awesome! thanks!

  • Go JPJ... Where is the song credits???

  • Go JPJ...

  • Kurt Cobain look alike at 57 sec. in!

  • i thought the singing was a joke

  • sounds like bon scott

  • And still he sings better then I do. Yeah, things could be better to me.

  • This song it The fucking best shit! its entertaining, funny and the musics great!

  • the singing may be crap, but the character and raw irate british mojo is practically pouring out every second.

and the music is as always, fantastic. JPJ IS THE BEESSSSST.

  • great BASS John paul jones but singing bad

  • He needs a hug <3

  • Okay so that guitar solo was pretty sweet.

  • Any person who what plays backgammon is pretty dang awesome to me..... Being the best bass player/worst singer, well thats justa plus.

  • great thudstaff operator!

  • i don't think that you 're a toad Jonesy

  • He has a good 70's punk voice.

  • wth is this faggotry?

  • Vocal from Monty Python??:}}

  • I'm gonna need some proof that this is JPJ. I don't believe it

  • @GeorgeCassells Is he my friend, he pwns most musicians ass. By the way, i saw in an interview to jimmy page that he admitted that without jpj in the concerts, he will loose tempos

  • I cannot possibly believe such a great songwriter and rediculously talented bass played would churn out this garbage. HOW! I mean he still has ears, this is terrible. I do not understand at all and in fact this has blown my mind.

  • @willeng84 humour is lost on the slow witted

  • This is ridiculous and brilliant!

    JPJ <3

  • I have to admit I kind of like this............ It's like punk?

but I agree this is why plant sung haha

  • Now I know where I can get my punk fix!

  • Don't you get it? He is being satirical. Actually he and Andy Summers would probably get along well musically.

  • Who's he flipping off at 1.50 bill graham?

  • It's very powerful, and funny too.

  • do any of you realize that this is purely satirical?

  • Sad that most people here don't seem to get that JPJ's spoofing punk rock. The ridiculous singing is part of the joke.

  • Oh jeez... will you people PH-LEEZ get off JP's back about his singing..? I kinda like his voice, actually. It's like a weird cross between Ian Drury and Sid Barrett... LOL.

Let's show some respect to the finest bass player in rock history... past, present or future.

  • Sounds like the jam but better....

  • He's got good reason to be Angry - Page and Plant went to make an Album and Tour, completely dissing him.

  • This makes me think of the elderly snowbirds driving through my hometown... I could see a music video out of this song. And a remake.

  • Well, he can do a lot of things, but singing isn't one of them

  • I love you to death Jonsey but damn man...LoL

  • This is why In Through the Out Door sucked.

  • i prefer him in the bass...

  • im angry angry at 27 people

  • wow..sounds like punk rock n roll hahaha..the voice

fuckin good tune though..jpj is the master

  • They should have Oscar the Grouch sing this on Sesame Street.

  • people think that I'm a toad

  • he sings like an old guy

    well he is old now

  • HAHAHAHAHA AWESOME

  • Most overrated musician: Slash

Most underrated musician: John Paul Jones

But in fact, he sings very bad.

  • @elpndl94 So fucking true....rock on dude

  • @elpndl94 dude..common man, slash?? COMMON...slash has made legendary melodies like november rain..estranged...that is not overrated..please dude..

slash and jimmy page are rock n roll gods..both deserve the recognition they have

    and yea..jpj deserves much more

  • @AceInTheWhole94 I do not agree, I mean, Ray Charles, Chuck Berry and Bob Dylan made better melodies and they are not as fast as slash, see what I mean?

  • @elpndl94 yea man..ray charles , chuck , bob..love them..they've made awesome shit..and got the recognition they deserve...but that still doesnt mean slash is overrated..i highly dont think so dude..the guy is magic..the emotion he transmits on guitar is phenomenal...just listen and enjoy all of em true , honest artists :) he's most definately not overrated..speed has nothing to do with anything

    i respect your opinion though

  • @AceInTheWhole94 Sorry if I bothered you, I respect your opinion. Music is the music you like to listen and thats all

  • @elpndl94 Good comment! But i think he's trying to be punk rock when it first hit big? I could be wrong thinking this is from 77?

  • @dannyhood66 Maybe so? I did not think he was into it? Or any members from Zep? But i really don't know about the guys in zeppelin being into punk rock? The guys in aerosmith where totally into the sex pistols big time..

  • @dannyhood66 This song is from 2001, not 1977. It's spoofing punk rock. It's supposed to be funny.

  • @elpndl94 When he wanted to sound like a punk rocker in 77 this is what he sounded like..Only when he was making fun of punk rock which was huge in england by late 70s

  • @elpndl94

hes not underated, its just retards who dont know enough about him

  • @Chrislevesque91 Yes, you are right, my bad

  • @Chrislevesque91 so basically hes underrated?

  • @elpndl94 john paul jones is not under rated u dumb shit. Those of us who know what music is have considered him a god since 1968. Stop blabbering

  • @elpndl94 JPJ is in no way underrated. He's acknowledged as a fine bassist by all those who know. As for Slash, he's also very good. He is underrated by many like you because he's not a technically flashy guitarist but his tone, feel and timing and ability to make the guitar "sing" are outstanding. Technical flash isn't everything.

  • well adam bomb is the 1 who is playin guitar.search him on ere,he the best

  • Holy Buzzcocks! This totally presages punk. I like it!

  • Comment removed

  • I've heard Jimmy sing before. It's in some song he recorded before Zeppelin called "She just satisfies" Not bad at all!

  • Cool riff ,JPJ could revive this riff sometime in the future for another song :p.

  • haha john pall jones is the greatest bassist ever one of the greatest over all musicians ever but...... this sucks hahahahaha

  • I love Robert and Jimmy but Jones it my fav. His stuff is so much more modern I guess. Them Crooked Vultures is great stuff.

  • Best bass player ever, now i'm going to smoke some good pot.

  • is this a remake /or a JPJ original ?

    rip DIO

  • john paul johnes is a brilliant musician , and even when he makes fun songs like this , its truly amazing , one of my top 5 musicians of all times

  • haha and to me JPJ always seemed to be the calmer one from the ZEPPs

  • JPJ voice? I guess yes!

The first time i've heard his voice was in Them Crooked Vultures..

It seems to fit with this here.. lol

    The BEST!!

    UP

  • buen tema de el musico mas dotado de LED ZEPPELIN

  • dude this sounds like something Black Sabbath would play. Like if Ozzy sang this it would sound so much better.

  • John & Cliff & Chris squire& Steve Harris Are To me the Best Bass players ever and don't forget Mr Jack Bruce

  • @tankerman25 Stanley Clarke too

  • i like bad singers, like dylan, lennon, cobain, cohen and hendix ( all hate ther own voice).

  • this isnt john paul jones

  • @ozziedoggy14 yes it is.

  • He is making fun of punk rock, obviously this isn't making the best music out there in a parody.

  • i like his voice.
