In Sengoku Basara the enemy generals would stand still, the battles were 1/4 of the size on most occasions, and the alternative units posed no real threat (except the tigers en masse) samurai warriors, at least on its hardests settings, unlike sengoku basara on its highest settings, actually had generals and gate captains who would fight you back rather than stand still waiting to be killed to make the battle an easy win.

Sengoku Basara had nicer artwork, that was all it had though..

He has the most incredible combos of all the characters. When I had my PS2, I made to get all his status on max by having tea cerimonies, fighting contests, and debats on empire mode. I was unstoppable with this guy!

SB!Masamune is better? they are totally different, why people is always comparing this two games, hmpf, this two characters... Masamune is my fav SW char 'cause I love rl Masamune... the "spanish" design and European weapons, his story mode in SW3 based in his tragic life... perhaps cause i'm not an anime fan i don't like SB Masamune, but i don't hate him (I love SB series too) and I was expecting more about his character.

@assaindude Let's see. In Samurai Warriors, he uses a saber and dual flintlock pistols obviously as if he has no idea how the weapons are intended to be used. In Basara, he uses six katanas at once as "dragon claws". On Basara, he uses swords with poor grip, speaks Engrish, but is still badass. On Samurai Warriors, he disregards the proper use of his weapons, somehow manages to use a flintlock pistol more times before reloading than possible, look like a spaz, and still be badass. I call a tie.

Although this version of Masamune has guns, he does NOT have them on. While the Sengoku Basara version of Masamune doesn't have guns, he still has his guns on.

In case anyone was wondering, it is possible to have a firearm in you possession, yet still not have ya guns on. Likewise, one does not need to have a firearm in order to have ones guns on, as the saying goes.

Hello I have never been a fan of Dynasty Warrior like games (played a couple in the past) but got the Fist of the Northstar game and GOD I LOVE IT ^_^! I was wondering to give these type of games a chance again. I liked SW a bit so I was thinking on getting this but am worried about gameplay. Need a bit of help in deciding wich game to get between SW3 or SB3? Which one has a deeper and more interesting combat system? I really don't care about graphics just gameplay and fun factor. Thanks

Definitely Basara moveset wise. Everyone's a lot faster, and objective clearing and boss duels are much more important than crowd control and morale.

Every character can't be played the same way and almost all of them can keep a combo for entire sections.

Deeper for the gameplay itself? 3 is a true improvement, if only Koei tried giving the same quality of 3's and 4's plus their expansions, I would say its equal to SB in instant enjoyment.

What have they done to Oichi in SW3? I'll just Buy Sengoku Basara 3 JAP ver. on ebay for PS3. Much better. No offense, but they should add more attacks, more weapons, costumes, and available in all platforms. They should not make games just for money. They should care for their fans. I'm not against this game, I have all Samurai Warriors 1, 2, 2XL, 2 empires and I love it. I also have Orochi 1 and 2, and the Samurai Warriors was there too, but the voices were different. Sigh....
