@71taralouise FNM are best. then mordred. then infectious. white zombie and coc were groovie and cathedral lol... anyway red hot chillis are sell out shit. mordred waaaay better imho ...come back play london uk like you used too :)
@exmouraTV Same here, I hadn't thought about Mordred in years, then it just occurred to me, I flashed back to when I heard this sone just once on a local college radio station, and thanks to Zavlem I found it on Youtube and have now heard it in its entirety. Great early 90s thrash with just a touch of rap; love the melodic vocals and lead guitar. Modern rapcore should take note and learn some lessons from Mordred.
Thanks for the support after all these years. Thrashing with my boys was one of the best times of my life! We did music that we felt, not afraid to experiment and not what was popular and those of you who got it...got it. I would do it all again and not change a thing! Thanks Ya'll! Pause
Brilliant track. This album and a few others got me through high school, the straight up worst period of my life. Can't tell you how many times I came home and blew up my speakers BLASTING this track over and over.
Loved this band back in the day. Fools Game was more thrash oriented but In this Life got the funk goin on which at the time was pretty bold! Does the solo section remind anyone of Epic FNM?
@thrasher123 This band in general reminds me of a thrashier FNM. The vocalist not only sounds a lot but looks a lot like Mike Patton. No matter tho, they're both great bands.
i used to record videos from headbangers ball back in 1991 and that's where i first heard this song. i went out and bought the album (on cassette tape).
This adds another one to the list of songs that have sampled Big Beat by Billy Squier! Why has one bad song been sampled into so many other tracks, is it a joke or a competition or something?
Oh sweet god, I had absolutely forgotten about this band. I remember getting their first album and then this one came out with Bad Mutha Goose all over it. God this was an amazing album. Not bad for a bunch of skate punks.
To whoever posted this video: You rule. Always thought these guys were way ahead of their time and just a fine band. This is my fave song of theirs and I had no idea they had a video for it. Thank you!!
Great musicians, to me this has alwas been the epitome of Funk-Metal. It's what i hoped RHCP would have sounded like back in the BSSM days, but didn't.
with out going into detail, this song was a very influential part of my life in 1991. keep coming back because of that. great to see all the great comments. peace
These guys were almost TOO ahead of their time. If they had came in maybe 5 years later, they would have been given the type of credit that say a "Limp Bizkit" eventually received, IMHO.
I agree, superb band that did not get the recognition they deserve. Was happy to hear they had kind of reformed but was not this line up ,and the new band and singer are horrible compared to this line up.Very sad :-(
The Mordred that reformed was the original version of Mordred. The band started back in 1983-1984 as a thrash metal band. This incarnation of Mordred (Art Liboon being the only member in the band from start to end) came much later.
Sorry should have said the "Classic" line up which is what i call this.Cant say i hear much pre this line up and going by the reformation of the older one i can see why they didnt succeed and doubt they will.Wish this line up could reform.Either way this line up rocks (Sorry im confusing myself with this post as well as others) ;-)
It's just sad that the "world", meaning the MTV world and superficial assholes weren't ready for this style at the time this band came out, they should have been the biggest shit ever! Fuck em though, they are pioneers in their own right.
@doogz65 .... Oh shut the fuck up. People like you make me fucking sick. Yeah, it was the fake, poser metal era. There is no "metal" era. But you think like that if you want. And please learn to form a cogent sentence; you opinion is neither sad nor old, it is just wrong.
@curioustongue wtf are you talking about? Fucking raping the guy for stating that he likes the late 80's and early 90's. I happen to like that era too and im sure many others too. Because it is a good era for metal. Contrary to your pathetic belief.
Gahaha! I was thinkin' of getting a mullet haircut (I'm an 80's/early 90's freak) back in the summer of 2007, but I never did. I'm glad for that, now I've got the same haircut as Scott Holderby and Mike Patton. Especially Mike's 1990-haircut (long hair with undershave). Long hair is for headbangers, Mordred is for REAL music lovers.
When this came out i was 17 and on the dole in Ireland. 55 quid a week. 20 to the mother, 10 in the Sound Celler for a new Album and 25 for a few drinks on Sat night. Happy Days!!!!
Finally I see the video 17 years after it's release!(Never released in Oz,only "Everyday's A Holiday" was ever shown here, which gave everybody the misconception all their songs sounded like that.)Mordred were part of the 2nd wave of Bay Area Thrash Metal (their original singer used to weild a sword onstage!).But they branched off, like other SF bands Limbomaniacs;Faith No More;Death Angel;Blind Illusion etc.Definately ahead of their time.Early Incubus probably owes more to Mordred than Korn & LP
Without getting too teary eyed, I thought the same thing. I have this album on vinyl! Awesome tunes, and written while Linkin Park were still shitting in the bath (and I don't mean Feb 2008).
Wow this is really old school, awesome I was a freshman in highschool and loved this song, the first time i heard scratching to thrash and it was so well done, the guitar solos are dope, props to my man DJ Pause on the turntables, real San Francisco underground, I wonder what happened to these guys, its so cool that you can find old lost memories like this on you tube

Quality stuff. Nothing I haven't outside of what Faith No More did as far as genre-crossing, but still quality. Funny because vocally it's similar as far as the nasal high-pitched type...outside of the catchy simplistic DJ work, the solo part is excellent. Ear candy.
I think they actually made 2 more ... one is called Vision, which is a great album, though not as heavy as the stuff before it. Haven't heard the one after that, but I've read they got a new singer.

Wow, an actual video clip, never thought they made any! Mordred, my favourite band of the 90s, such a talented bunch of musicians, they were really ahead of their time.
They did make videos, i have a old video tape somewhere with " Everyday's a Holiday" on it, have to track it down & post it sometime. Havn't seen this though, awesome band! Thx.
NOTHING is ahead of it's time... Just that most the people listening to this in 91 where behind the time.

Thx.
