Nursing Homes ! are the saddest places in the world, especially for the poor. The majority of the staff, are paid minimum wage, and tend to be young people.

We here about cases of abuse. But the biggest abuse comes from a benign neglect.

I would never put a family member in one.

I can't say that I would ever put someone in a home to be taken care of by strangers but there's certain things I can't do myself either so the best thing to do would be to hire someone to help so I can still watch over without having to do something that makes me uncomfortable.

Despite any parents' wishes, it really depends on who or which option would provide the best total care...

While I'm all for doing the duty of a devoted child, I for one would never choose to do certain things for my mother, seeing as I'm not a female. The proper thing, at the least, would be for me to hire someone to assist. Everything else is negotiable...
