The RamBox is a brilliant idea but I believe it was first used on the 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche.

@fantana501 true, but there are some differences like the drain plugs in the ram box the chevy did not have. nor did it have the little sunk in parts where the drains are lovated. not much of a differencce but still.

The Ram Box storage units are made with plastic and don't hold up well when storing tools or metal objects. While Dodge advertises that the boxes are water tight and able to contain heavy items, the plastic cracked at the bottom of the storage unit, exposing the rear wheel well.

Brilliant Idea, but poorly executed. Especially when the option costs $2,000.
