This song is a perfect sendoff to the Harry Potter film series at next year's Oscars as to performed by the film franchise's young cast members who can sing in the front of the star studded audience and viewers across the world that would be a good idea.
Oh my GOD, this is PURE awesomeness! How come I've been a Tanz der Vampire (Dance of the Vampires) and Jim Steinman fan like, uhm, forever and have not heard this song before?! Epic!
Any one notice that this song is talking about living life as a homosexual think about it, he is using "Original Sin" in a context of religious intolerance and manipulation and how he is breaking those taboos in order to find what he is looking for, many of his songs are actually not very specific in gender roles granted some are noted for there genders (Paradise by the dashboard light) but come on can you guys honestly think after reading the lyrics he is talking about Adam doing Eve?
Yeah, this BURIES Meat's version. It's not that he doesn't sing it well enough, it's just that it's a song that needs all these layers of vocals and instruments. His is a bit too...simplified.
I love how there are so many versions of his songs....Meat Loafs Original sin is awsome, too. Of course every version represents another style and I love this one...
Fuck me this song rules! I love most of the real songs on this album, I just wish Steinman hadn't gone so overboard on the speeches and filler tracks. I mean, the opening of the box is just the storm slightly reworked.
I grow up listening to Steinmann and Meatloaf but Meatloaf makes new Music now and i say its preety damm a huge shitload of music Steinman made Music come so alive it is very rear that a Musician puts his soul and heart in his work but steinman does and u can hear it !!
Taylor Dane also recorded a version of this amazing song in 1994 for the soundtrack of "The Shadow" That was the first time I heard it, I had no idea it had so much providence, and had been recorded by so many artists. This version is my fav!
Meat Loaf's version is good, but it would have been better if Ron Nevison didn't touch it,he ruined it. Jim Steinman should have produced it. This is the original and definately the BEST!!!
Not really. Ellen Foley did the female vocals on the first "Bat Out Of Hell"-Album. Jim Steinman was the mastermind behind the first and second "Bat Out Of Hell"-Albums.
yeah Jim himself. He wrote a lot of other songs that are well known, like "total eclipse of the heart" "making love out of nothing at all" and "It's all coming back to me now" He is amazing!
If you're not sacrificing virgins in the back yard or playing it over and over and staying up nights or getting yourself evicted or fired then sit back and enjoy and tell your shrink to remove the stick from his/her sphincture and lighten up ; )
now THAT was an epix rock song, this is the kind of music that rock musians should be making, this is POWERFUL.. and yet the world has the likes of crappy OASIS, and peoplle actually think oasis are good... they are CRAP, they are not rock, they will never be rock... THIS IS ROCK
I'm Meat Loaf's fan but this version, the original, is better than hims. Jim Steinman is one of the best songwriters in the history. Keep on writing Jim.
THE MAN.. behind... Meatloaf.... like so many do know... and way more many DONT.... This man..Deserves way more RESPECT.. then he does..right now...RESPECT...Im from Holland...and IM PROUD... to be a Jim Steinman FAN.....In all he does in Music...
I was a Meat fan and then picked up Jim's album in a second hand shop and since then I just seek out his stuff - he's an incredible songwriter. Check out Tanz Der Vampyres and Meat's version of No Matter What. Although even Jim's wife said that Meat can sing Jim's songs better than Jim can!
ok not bad but this song is better done by meatloaf, but jim steinman is a good song writer i give credit to him aswell for writeing some HELL of some good songs for meatloaf but i give the most credit to meatloaf himself as his voice such power behind his voice and such passion aswell when he sings!!!
Awesome

@Mistletoe365 yes^^ the song called in german " Einladung zum Ball"^^ and Count from Krolock sings it
1617Orion 1 year ago
@1617Orion Ummm.... Not quite. It was recycled by Steinman as a leitmotif for "Tanz der Vampire."

Yes but according to the text it should be "Gott ist tot" ;)

No, Jim Steinmann used the original sin theme and other themes for the musical.
Its not written, just used for the musical ;)

Jim Steinman without Meat Loaf has still had lots of Number Ones with Bonnie Tyler and Celine Dion.
Meat Loaf without Jim Steinman has done only ok.
As big a fan of Meat Loaf though I am, without Jim Steinman, he would have peaked with Rocky Horror.
