Deep Purple looks better after Blackmore left simply because they look more happy and willing to rock and roll, with Ritchie the band look very stiff in some concerts, but it's sad Jon Lord left BUT...BUT they received someone worthy of taking his place..Don Airey, the band looks great and I hope they will make one last album that will blow our mind, I think this band is the most under rated in history..I love every freaking song on their albums, long live Deep Purple!
After Don Airey's keyboard solo they sang 'Perfect Strangers' . I don't know why it isn't in this vid, anyway, thank you uploader, had a great time listening to this.
I just watched this on the big screen and just found this on YouTube! Thanks for posting. I saw these vintage guys in Sydney, ...so many years ago. They still have 'got it' even in their eighth incarnation. :-R
If you're not familiar with just how great Steve Morse is, you must listen to not only his solo material, but more amazingly his band The Dixie Dregs from the '70's and '80's. They were a melting pot of country/rock/blues/jazz. One of the greatest and tightest bands I've ever heard. So I was thrilled when I found out he would be the lead axe man for Purple>>>>>>Great post, Thanxxxx!!!!
1. Pictures of Home 2. Things I Never Said 3. Strange Kind of Woman 4. Rapture of the Deep 5. Wrong Man 6. The Well-Dressed Guitar 7. Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye 8. When a Blind Man Cries 9. Lazy 10. Keyboard Solo 11. Space Truckin' 12. Highway Star 13. Smoke on the Water 14. Hush 15. Too Much Fun 16. Black Night
How can they still spice up things like that? They always find out something new, notwithstanding that the most songs are older than 30 years and they're on stage for 40 years!
Steve Morse is one those unsung guitar heroes as I know a lot of Purple fans still pine for the return of one R. Blackmore. Well, a lot of water have passed under the bridge since he left in 1975. To me Steve Morse a brilliant guitarist and his technic is amazing. He goes on quietly but he got the job done. I hope to hear from Mr. Morse many, many more years to come. What more can say about Ian Gillian he was and still has one of the best rock voices of all time!!!!!

This is easily the best concert I have seen in 30 years. Second comes Eric clapton crossrroads 2010

@daddybonzita1 It was 84. In 81 Blackmores was still with Rainbow, and Paice and Lord were with Whitesnake. That return was in 84.

My impression is that we don't develop any consciousness of wrong-doing anymore for stolen music. And no respect anymore for the works of others.
It is more than clear that music and concertrecordings may not be given away freely without their consent.
By this we degrade music to something worthless and make clowns out of the musicians.
