Are 14% odds of quitting for six months - a 1 in 7 chance - worth risking your life? That isn't Pfizer's counseling inflated 44% advertised rate but the newest figure from a June 2011 study by Hughes. Now balance that against the 35,000 adverse Chantix events to date reported to the FDA, 10,000 of which were serious, disabiling or deadly, including 272 completed suicides.
did any one feel really stoned when they were waking up in the morning!?! im going on day 3 and its the weridest thing... i smoke alot of pot but i never wake up feeling baked
I have stopped for 4 months and yes the Chantix helped. However, I do not reccomend it.
Chantix made me put a gun to my wifes face and later had me contemplating suicide. I'm still depressed but doing much better. Fizer did the study of chantix for the FDA, that's the fox telling you all the hens are in the hen house while feathers spew from its mouth. Side effects are far more common. I never had a mental history but this evil shit can turn you into someone you don't want to be.
I was on chantix for about 45 days and it worked but I took a trip with a car load of smokers and I feel of the wagon going to try it again anything has to be better than the side effects of smoking I think you just have to won't to stop I hope it works I have a new grandson and I want to be here for a long time to watch him grow, hell I'm only 45 I'm to young not to try
@KezoZydis Chantix is a anti-depressant, just as Wellbutrin is a anti-depressant. They change the psychology of the person using it. Seems to me Chantix is a far more dangerous option than Wellbutrin though and just as effective, which is nada.
2% success rate at 20 months. Wonder what the % rate is for bad side effects? Check out personal vaporizers, they are 80% success rate including myself. Been vaping for a year now and will NEVER smoke again!
speculation... keep positive chantix works for a great majority, when you first start taking this you are screened for previous depression and if in the UK you have fortnightly support sessions... worst side effects for me are nausea, nicotine withdraw headaches & a few restless nights for the 1st few weeks, quit for one week so far and feel a whole lot healthier
booooooo chantix sux it didnt do what it was supposed to and cost near $200 and i didnt even get a side effect i feel totally ripped off :(
i took it almost a month then stopped not once did i ever get even a reduced urge to smoke its a piece of crap and i doubt it stops or causes anything it just does nothing just a waist of money
@uvasteve thats because you have to want to quit and the program has a minimum of 90 days not 30 numbnuts!!! I took it and didn't even get a strange dream but did quit smoking!!! Side effects very and normally if it is a mental issue then the problems are already there and the drug intensified it. Like all drugs side effects are not perminant. If you have trouble stop taking it. Chantix Saved My life. Thank you Pfizer Labs!!!
i used this stuff , been smoke free for almost 2 years , i've always had a bad attitude , but that is because of my up bringing and mantallity , not a medication that helped me to stop smoking , now i wont get lung cancer , at least from a bad smelly habit my kids are happier that i will be around longer , and i dont "smell" , and my wife is glad too , and she even told me that we are saving 160 to 200 $ a month , i dont have to carry a lighter around , and people dont "bumb one" from me
I was takeing these tablets. I was on them for 3 weeks and I had crazy side effects. I have been off them for a while now and I still suffer from sleeping problems, trouble breathing, mood swings, feeling tired all the time and feeling jumpy. I do have a history of depression that is why i stoped taking them... I didnt want to risk going there again ( i have a family to look after)
The common withdrawal symptoms of quitting smoking includes, hostility, agitation, suicidal thoughts , insomnia, vivid dreams. I have spoken with dozens of doctors who have written hundreds of Chantix prescriptions and not one of their patients suffered the side effects that this bogus lawyer-paid spot talks about. My doctor reports 90% success with Chantix.
@maxneu I am taking Chantix now and I have been experiencing most of the side effects you discribed. Although, I would rather ride it out then to smoke again.
i took chantix in march. It worked like a charm..had absolutely no desire to smoke 10 days after starting the drug. I was smoking for over a decade before this.
The sudden ineffectiveness of nicotine made me very tired for 3 days and i had a couple weird dreams, but I still made it to work everyday...its well worth giving it a try.
You sound like you work for Chantix. Boy, wouldn't that be an interesting thought- people hired to comment on videos to dispel the dangerous effects touted by the pharmaceutical company themselves?
ANY drug that says it could possibly kill you in a number of ways should not be on the market. Shame on the people who are willing to put people's lives at risk in order to make a buck. How do you sleep at night? I hope you get the nightmares and suicidal thoughts that your drug warns people about.
Illegal drugs WERE pharmaceuticals at one point. People who brink this crap come from the same family of drug dealers as heroin, ketamine, cocaine, lithium, xanax, oxycotton and ecetera makers. Just make yourself some cannabis or damiana tea and forget these fuckers.
LOL. Of course it will cause people suicidal thoughts! Just think of it: this medicine actually BLOCKS receptors that produce dophamine and make you happy. So, after Chantix blocks those receptors you'll feel even more "down" and NOTHING will make you happy because there's no way dophamine can be release because the Chantix is there.
Also, on Chantix website they say that Chantix is "believed" to do this or that. LOL. "Believed"??? Not schientific then if it's "believed"
Yeah, I've been taking it for 4 days now, and It's making me feel like shit. I'm having suicidal thoughts, but I'm not going 2 act on them. My brother took it and he was acting weird on it. He didn't care about anything. I didn't know it could fuck up ur driving. Thought I was swerving a little bit the other night. I wouldn't take this shit, I think it's worse than nicotine cravings, and it makes u feel sick to your stomach all the time. Wellburtin makes me feel tired all the time. U can't win.
smoking is retarded anyways. think of it like this. give me the 9 bux that you spend on a pack and ill nearly kill you... youll get sick of that much faster
My girlfriend is trying to quit using this product now, constantly feels like she's losing her mind, can't concentrate, depressed, she feels withdrawn from people. She's acting differently towards everyone including her children.
She was a upbeat happy person before taking this drug, all i can hope for is she returns to normal after she stops taking it. Its at the point now where i feel it could ruin out relationship. I wouldn't recommend this drug for anyone.
it works tell her to just keep going.. you have to fight the side effects in your head but it does stop i quit on chantix i took it to 4 months.. but i have been quit now for 3 years
My mother smoked for 50 years and quit with chantix. She died of lung cancer 6 months later. I can't blame Chantix for my mother's choices in life, but it's odd when I called the 1-800 number moments after the commercial warning the number was "no longer in service" and "no further information was avialable". I'm guessing the wonderful FDA will now rush in to "protect the consumer". I'm sensing a pattern forming here...
Human beings are so controlled by the TV and all the commercial programming, they feel sick and in need of each new drug that comes out. Most times they create the drug first, and then create the disease in our minds; restless leg syndrome. (grin)
Truthers versus Liars, pick a side and support it.
You can make a choice to mentally interrupt the behavior of buying and smoking cigarettes. Try saying to yourself is this helpful or hurtful every time you have the urge.
There are other means but that's a good place to start.
Hello people! Wake up to a fact that more people DIE from LEGAL Pharmaceutical drugs every year than from all of the illegal drug deaths combined! Add to that the terrible complications and side-effects produced by "doctor" prescribed drugs, and the toll of human suffering produced by "FDA" approved DRUGS is enormous! Not to mention alcohol, tobacco and coffee, all "legal" drugs which cause more deaths and health related issues than ALL the "illegal" drugs combined! So what does that tell you?
@androidstar Your right take actress Brittney Murphy for example. She was really sick and her doctors gave all these drugs to her that caused her heart to fail! Not long after her death her husband died from the same damn thing!
You can stop smoking without this drug!! Mind over matter!! To stop smoking is a decision to make in your life!!Smokers who can't quit are absolutely failures!!Failures to make a decision for their life!!!!!!!!I was a smoker before>>>
Its not perfection.. its a clear DETERMINATION!!.. If you are fucking determind.. You can stop smoking!!You can break the impossible..And before you can do it you must believe that you can!! Its not arogance.. its a DECISION to make!!
Not many people can use this drug safely. There is a chemical reason why it's so difficult to quit so it NOT mind over matter. Quitting smoking was MUCH easier 20 years ago because the cigarettes have many more chemicals these days, which makes them MUCH more addictive.
This is absolutely on target.... I speak from experience. Fortunately, I did quit smoking, almost 8 months ago. But at a VERY high price. Even if I am the exception and not the rule, no one should take this drug without realizing the risks. Make sure someone watches you at all times as you take this drug. And, make sure someone watches you when you STOP taking it. For me, the depression got worse after I stopped taking it. Good luck everyone.....
msprof68, is the depression over now? Did you ever have depression before using this drug? I have been on it for 12 days now and did have a crying jag last night. Felt very sad and lonely. I am down to two cigs a day from a pack a day. I told my husband to keep an eye on me as I am a little scared.

just smoke if your already adddicted people.
believe me. you don't always get cancer and die. infact the number of people who do is very little compared to the number of people who survive.
maybe smoke pot to substitute nicotine. lol you might have a weight gain problem but this is just coming form the top of my head.
