April aged beautifully. I think the key to their success was they valued minimalism, that is, simple and beautiful songs, sensitive and easy vocals and an easy performing style. They pretty much kept to that and so they stood out from crowd.
April had a thing for me for many years.....but I got tired of the hotels and last minute trips and had to end it. She was a great kid who really gave her all.....but I had to go on with my life.
April Stevens sang this song later on her 1990 LP, "Carousel Dreams". Although it was a solo vocal album, Nino put some of the music on it. The saxophone work on the LP was particularly beautiful.
On this youtube version, Nino has the lead, and April is singing considerably higher than usual. On her 1990 LP, she sings in her usual alto. All fans of these two should pick up a copy of "Carousel Dreams". All of the songs are good.
This one should have been Number One on the chart for Nino & April. I have never heard them sing so beautiful before. Sounds like it could have been a song from a movie or should have been.
We never loved anyone like we loved APRIL & NINO! They are to music what rum is to Mai Tai's! A PERFECT BLEND of music, showmanship, and pure Artistry! Today's "singers" could learn SO much from April Stevens and Nino Tempo. Thanks for this warm memory.
he has the dreamiest voice!

I remember this song. In 1981, Harden and Weaver on WMAL played it several times in the DC area

He didn't need the rug, but he does look better with a bit o' hair. Natural sexiness, low key charm, and a terrific sax player.
