@sasukeuraharaa flyes should be alot less weight, if you dont want to get injured that is. you can see the diffrences in the weight scott use for example.
@jmh218 Undoubtedly his videos are awesome. I get the motivation to get my ass to the gym...You know sometimes watching the Ifbb pros videos start to make me feel, that im looking at unrealistic goals. Videos from guys like Scott, Rob Riches, Greg Plitt motivates me more because I am looking at something achievable with all the hard work and efforts. Biggest of all realistic.
@jmh218 My warts are fucking insane... They won't leave me, I've tried everything. I was so desperate that I lit them on fire with gasoline, my result was the same.... Don't get me wrong I have a great physique, but I have some flaws
I wish my fockin chest was normal... Instead I have a huge bone sticking out of the bottom of my sternum... And yes it is beyond embarrassing. Just like my crooked nose, body height, and 2 warts...
You need to be able to do 3 sets of 8-12 reps if you're trying to build muscle. If you can't do 3x8, the weight is too heavy. If you can do more than 12 reps in proper form, it might be too light. When finding your ideal weight, it's obviously better to guess light and then increase the weight as needed, rather than going too heavy and hurting yourself.
@supersanchez1991 Yes but you won't have as much range of motion so if you find anything to lay down on that allows your arms to fully extend, such as connecting chairs or stools, it'd be more effective.
Is it normal I was pretending I was sitting on him and he was saying shit like: ur so gorgeous, I want to marry you, and I was like: first I'm going to make you cum inside of me first?
you sure it's not better to keep your arms fully extended? i was doing them yesterday with full extension and it seems the full extention makes it harder, and makes you use your shoulders and especially triceps more ...
@MUSICBUFF99TUFF lol!! of course it's harder? but if you do that you will be more able to get injuries. Dumbell flies is a chest exercise not shoulder or triceps, if you want to train triceps and shoulder you should use close grip benchpress (triceps) military press (shoulder)
@MUSICBUFF99TUFF it also ruins your joints, in this case your elbow joints as it applies pressure on them, if you slightly bend your arms it channels the energy straight to your chest.
Perfect form, great exercise for a doing the side chest muscles. Make sure 1) you don't use so much weight you are pushing the weights up rather than using the fly motion and 2) you keep your arms slightly bent throughout (but not too much!!)
@MrMucisRocks what you mean 12-8 3-2? do you mean 8-12 reps of 2-3 sets or what? because you said go to failure? and the same for size and strength 6-10 reps? very much appreciated friend
@MrMucisRocks my goal is for a bigger appearance, so would 8-12 reps of 2-3 sets achieve this? what would i have to do to achieve strength and power? or would i achieve strength and power and a bigger size doing the 8-12 reps of 2-3sets?
Hey scott, whenever I do dumbbell flies I always feel my left arm ''crack'' when my arms go back the chest, what's the problem? It only happens to my left arm...
i've only done flys on a machine before but now i'm working out at home and got new dumbells today =) but i kinda stretched my left bicep doing this i didn't have perfect form=/ so does anyone know what happend to my bicep it doesn't hurt at all just feels a little sore when i flex it? just wanna know why?
Please reply to this: Does this work the middle of the pecs? I have a pectus excavatum which is like a "Ditch" in the middle of the chest and I'm trying to work that part out so please tell me some excersises to do for that area.
@hippietuber From what I've been researching, bench press and flys will build the chest. Incline bench along with incline flys will influence muscle growth in the upper chest while decline bench will focus on the lower pecs. You can't go wrong with pushups either. You can get away with doing those everyday. Decline pushups are my favorite. I have a little gap myself and have been working on filling it out.
@hippietuber I forgot to mention resistance bands help a lot. When I use the band that I have, I can see my inner and upper chest fill out when doing reps. A big plus is that resistance bands are way way way cheaper than dumbells and a bench press set up assuming you work out at home.

Cheers for the tips, I broke my leg badly a couple of months ago doing muay thai, Needed something like this for my fitness. I put on so much weight without my reg excercise. So thanks again, I'll pull out my old bench press tomorrow :) Id be embarrassed going to a gym with crutches lol
i've heard from my gym instructor that you should never do these on a bench because there is a risk that you over extend and can severely damage your chest muscles. he said it's best to do these on a mat on the floor. as long as you aren't resting your arms on it it will be just as effective.
i like to turn my thumbs and hands outwards when coming in to the middle of my chest, it adds an extra squeeze in the pecs i think, i like it and it's a nice variation to the regular flye's
Damn that's a perfect dumbbell flys. Actually how many rep do you recommend per set and how many set should one do a day? (I have no chest muscle but I would like to change that)
@LAKallday7 do you mean its shaking or shivering? if so, then it means your muscles cannot stabilize with that much weight yet. keep doing it for a few sessions(days), and it will slowly get tougher.
great video, helped me alot!! all your vids do!! check my page ur at the top.. but i suggest doin it on the ground. it keeps you in good form and you prevent hurting your shoulders by stretching to far down.thanks for the uplaods i hope my chest looks like urs soon! been workin a couple months at it
everytime i arch my back, later on in the day i get pains in my lower back, and continuing the next day, any help? Just don't want to be stunting my growth and don't want back problems in the future (I'm 15)
Since you are just 15 you better take it easy, and work more on the core if you are feeling pain from ''arching''.
Be careful of the heavier weights for chest/shoulder/bicep and focus more on abs/obliques/lower back so your body will be ready for better workout in a year or two
im turning 16 in 2 months, and my phys.ed class has a weight room unit
i read online that i shouldn't put weight on my vertebrae because thats how it stunts my growth, i just bench barbells and dumbells, and do bycep curls with dumbells
Hello Scott, You insist on going low under the bench, but other coaches say one should rather do this exercise on the ground, precisely in order to keep shoulders from going so far back (which seems to be harmful to shoulders). Could you please develop the point in going under the bench, and even going low? Thank you in advance, and once again, thank you for your very helpful advices.

hippietuber 8 months ago
@hippietuber From what I've been researching, bench press and flys will build the chest. @ScottHermanFitness Hey Scott I've noticed you've never done any videos involving Olympic lifting? I've started doing more of it in the gym and i find it an excellent work out. After doing some in the gym last night I'm sore all over, but that good soreness! I'd like to know your views on it or if you even do it. Cheers dude.

@ScottHermanFitness Should you go heavier, or do you just want to focus on the squeeze?
