funny moment when u start playing destra then ur mom comes out of nowhere wining the u stare at her like shes crazy then u jump in and wine with her i do it all the time
This song is a Surinamese song, check out La Rouge- au tjele naatje. The only difference, it,s completely in Hindi and partly surinamese. Ah wasi e was eng, means something like everybody,s wining.
At least Allison Hinds let d world know where she got Faluma from...( Surinam). I respect her for that.
first thing i have been looking for the lyrics for this song from time and i am asking if anyone has the lyrics for this song if so pls send it to me i really want to get it pls and thank you............dis chune is bad yes
@Kjaja07 Same thing goes for this popular filmi song called "Raama bach aaye"
What's being said in the chorus of the song is "Raam bach aaye mujhe Raama bach aaye" God(Ram) help, God help me, but Trinis think they're hearing "Raam bajai" bajai means "play" (as in an instrument...i.e. Dholak bajai-->you can youtube that one..the soca/chutney remix is called beat di drum. Youtube "Ram bajai" too and you'll find videos of Trini girls dancing chutney :D
No. In Hindi, "Awo chhale nache" means "Come let's dance." "AUR chale nache" would translate as "And let's dance"....I just got done explaining that. I speak Hindi btw...
Why make a big problem out of it? I also speak hindi. This song is half hindi and bhojpuri. I also speak bhojpuri btw. The ancestors of trini's and gt are speakers of bhojpuri. This song is btw a cover from a band from holland. They didn't copy everything right.
Yeah, I know it's half bhojpuri. It's the part I barely understand because I only speak Hindi. lol I'm also Trini...I know where my ancestors come from and that this song is a cover of Au Tjele Naatje. It's not a "big problem", I'm just remarking on this AS WELL AS chutney music in general...I mean, I just feel that if you're going to speak a language...speak the language.
@happybuddha33 not trying to like start a debate or anything but are you trinidadian? b/c i have a feeling the language would have been bastardized during indentureship. Is it possible that while you're correct to indo-trinidadians there is little distinction? or the word "Aur" has evolved (or degenrated depending on ur perception of things) into another similar syllable? Again i'm just trying to learn something
@Kjaja07 Yes. I am. :) And yes, the language as been a little "diluted", but even in India, the words "aur" which means and and "aao" which is the command form of the word come, sound nearly the same. What happens in Trinidad is that one person mishears the lyrics of a Hindi song, writes down what they hear, then everyone else THINKS that's what is being said in the song.
Allright. I'm actually reliefed your not from India. I can't stand their comments. I know what you mean 'bout speaking the language. The thing I see in general with people from gt and trini, they usually just don't speak the language. It's more the people from gt than trini, but still..
But we are all music listeners. Just enjoy. hehehhehe I actually got used to it that people from trini and gt barely speak bhojpuri or hindi.
Like this if you jamminq to this in 2012

@happybuddha33 lol that's funny. i figured it was like that. What about Lotala? Which one is the original? Lootela or the Sonny man's?
Kjaja07 1 year ago
@Kjaja07 Now, about that one I don't know. lol
happybuddha33 1 year ago
@happybuddha33 for real! i tend to assume the Indian one was the original but Lootela sounds soo artificial to me that it makes me wonder.

Big tune, but I really wish chutney makers/listeners would write Hindi better. lol They're saying "Awo/Aao chale nache" not "Aur chale"...
"Aur" in Hindi means "and" and "Awo/Aao" means "come"...which is what they're actually saying.
happybuddha33 2 years ago

happybuddha33 2 years ago
actually it is come lets go dancing
zeabrafinch10 2 years ago 3
Actually, it is "Come let's go dancing". The Hindi word for 'dancing' is 'nach'....'dance' is 'nache'
