  • Definitely one of my all time favourites.

    Great voice and great cover.

    Thanx for sharing.

  • Heh, thanks for the compliment! Singers need to support each other! I don't think they got the pun--was a quiet crowd--though I did say as an intro to the 2nd song "Second Time..." --"Folks here's opposite thing that can happen" One must be prepared for dead aud.s & sing for the pure enjoy.t--& maybe to that one person who IS reacting. Its true what you say about singing a song 100 times--then you hit the sweet spot one night---great feeling. The greats weren't always great each night!!

  • Erwin, Heh guess what!! I got in a revue show here in Santa Fe about Cole Porter--its community theatre--a revue--46 of his songs!! plus some dancing and sides of the great man's life. And I'm bound to have some solos. We're movin on up, heh? I have an affinity for Porter--my voice fits his songs---I listened to Ella F. (whom I share a birthday) till I was blue in the face while working at nature centers--know atleast 20 of his songs. That black turtleneck looks good on you by the way.

  • No technical comments....it just plain sounds good.

  • I sang "I wanna be around" and "the second time around" at local nightclub last night--notice the cheeky putting together of these two songs. Went well, have to practice more and 'live with the song'--not hold the note--if you can't--that is ok.

  • @windstorm1000 Hey! Great job! I love both of those songs! Did anyone else get your pun!?! ;) Ahhh, it's not a big deal in the end, just as long as you sang 'em well! I hear you about the performance part of music. You can sing a song one hundred times and one performance will SHINE above all of the rest. It's hard to tell if the "Specialness" happened because it was a good day for the vocal chords, mojo, chemistry, feelings ... You just wish that the song could be sung that same way every time!

  • Great cover !

  • Galing mo'ng Baritone man.

You're phrasing is well rounded as well we're it counts.

I wish you the best thanks for sharing.

    -Julian

  • Erwin, What a rich warm virile voice! Great interpr. You are terrific! I would vary the dynamics just a tad (ie more soft/loud/medium) Your intonation, breath control are great. I sing at a night club here in Santa fe and you'd fit right in. Keep up the good work. Don't worry if your wife won't sing with you--she may does not want to be a performer/ has stage fright--or simply cannot sing in your league. She can enjoy you from the audience and cheer you on. Sing for YOU & your dreams.

  • @windstorm1000 Thank you very much! Yes, I always thought that I was reasonably good at interpreting these pop greats and adding my personal touch when it seemed appropriate. BUT, these videos are teaching me that I know very little. None of my performances are even close to perfect, but within each video I feel that I present something memorable for me and so I post them.

  • @windstorm1000 It's funny that you mention my volume control because I'm working on that. It's really hard to get my volume right because the audio that your hearing is straight from my video camera. I'm continually adjusting to the acoustics of room where I video tape. I don't use any fancy equipment. I don't use any fancy software. I don't have any tech knowledge for audio engineering. It's really frustrating. I just wanna sing, for Goodness sake! =)

  • @windstorm1000 Lastly, I know that I'm long-winded, but I have to be thorough with my response, right? ;)

My wife's so funny. We host parties and we'll be singing with our friends until the wee hours of the morning. Yes, she's definitely camera shy; very stubborn too! You're right. We enjoy the music, together, in the privacy of our home.

WOW! I'd love to enjoy some of your music! I visited your channel, but you haven't shared, yet. I'm hoping that you'll consider sharing! Please consider.

  • Dude, you are killing it! Fantastic voice. R U recording?

  • Great singing here, Would love to hear you and wife sing a duet! It would be wonderful! You would both give so many people a lot of pleasure, excellent singing, all the stars, Wishing you and your wife the very best kindest regards from Paladon.

  • @callalily1 Thank you very much, Paladon. I appreciate you taking some time for me!

I'm still doing my best to warm my wife up to the idea of a duet. I believe that the two of us sing wonderfully as one. She's petrified by the camera. She just won't shake the notion.

I will let my wife know of your kind sentiments. May the same be returned to you, and yours, Paladon.

  • WoooooW!!!!

  • @MDzVQPln Thank you very much! I truly appreciate it!!!

Please come again. I have so much that you may enjoy!

  • Great, really and truely great job singing the look of love, tell your wife,I don't blame her one bit,but I bet she would be great to if she tried 1 time. :)

  • @pjtnletsgovols9 Thank you and you're absolutely right about my wife. We host lots of parties, which includes lots of singing :). She is often, first on the mic, entertaining our guests into a great frenzy! She sings all of the party songs and sings very well! We sing duets and I believe we sound great together. But, she just doesn't like the camera and calls herself a wallflower. I continue to try, and she continues to shoo me away :(, but I'll keep tryin'!

  • Great vocal performance! You have the right range for this Bacharach/David classic. I like that you chose this arrangement, leaning towards the Sergio Mendes/Brasil 66 style. Technically, I say to back off a bit on the reverb, your voice is superb without it. Leave the heavy reverb for the karaoke singers. You are a vocalist with great pipes man, keep singing! HM, filmmaker & bossa nova vocalist

  • @HunterMann Thank you so much! I love this genre. If you have other song suggestions for this genre, I'd love your input.

You have very high praise for me. Thank you. Also, I CAN'T BELIEVE that you commented on the very struggle I was facing when I made this video. I taped two versions: one with the effects & one without, just pure vocals. I struggled & struggled on my choice. In the end, I felt the raw version wouldn't appeal to an audience, lacking production value. Should I post the other?

  • Awesome voice there! And we look forward to possibly hearing your wife here as well one day :-)

  • @bossapeach Thank you so much for enjoying!!! I cover many genres. I hope that you will appreciate all that I have to offer. I'm just so happy that I can share what I can do ... with the world. I never realized that YouTube would be my outlet.

Regarding my wife ... I'll keep trying, but I don't know how long my shins will hold out!!!!

  • Good job bro! You should be at the Jazz Alley jamming to these smooth tunes & entertaining the intimate dinner for two crowds! Keep on singing bro!

  • @rcrr969800 Thanks Cel. Let me know when you and Rick need serenading for an intimate dinner for two! I'll just keep my eyes turned away ;)

  • @rcrr969800 Do you mean Dimitrio's Jazz Alley in Seattle? I dig that jazz club!

  • awesome!!!

     perfect........

  • @ondaness Thanks Oscar! I'm very happy that you're enjoying all of my renditions. I'll look into your request soon.
