I could not stop crying at the end of this movie!! the last 8 minutes of this movie was so deep!!!! I absolutely love this movie and the special effects were AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! My heart went out to the demon monk Neng Ren!! i cant believe Qing left him alone on the rock with her last immortal words "I never want to love anyone as much as she loved him"

And that beautiful song that played at the end had those precious last words "AND WE WILL MEET AGAIN IN OUR NEXT LIVES" beautiful movie!!!!!

It's ok, beautiful to watch, but it's like they can't make up their mind whether it should be a romance or action fantasy, it's just messy when they tried to juggle both. Love story is a little overkill, how they fell in love make no logical sense, but most Chinese love stories are, no explanation as to why she fell in love with him to begin with... It's a good watch but not the best movie out there

This movie actually has a pretty interesting story premise with the whole monk and demon fantasy theme, HOWEVER, it focused way too much on the romance that it overshadowed the former.

If you're a fan of HK cinema, Jet Li or Eva Huang then you'd probably enjoy it to a certain degree, otherwise it's just so-so.

Does anybody know that this is a remake of an older Chinese film called "Green Snake" where the focus was more on Green Snake than White Snake? Jet Li plays Fa Hai, the righteous monk who attempts to kill white and green snake because they are demons and they don't want no demons seducing humanity. It has a lot to do with Fa Hai fighting his inner lust with Green Snake's temptation. I haven't seen this one yet, but Fa Hai in the original was pretty cool in my opinion.
