@v1nc86 hey man, at the time these were just the stock re040 tires. there is wheel spin, you just may not be able to hear it, but i found that rev range to give the appropriate amount of launch and wheel spin. if anything, the 4000rpm i did launch at may have been a bit too high. if i did have a better tire at the time, then it may have worked out even better!
Your wrong, The Rev-up motors are only available on 05 anniversary model, track model, and grand touring vert, All 06 350Z's have the rev up motor if its a manual, 05-07 G35 coupes and 05-06 G35 sedans with the 6MT transmission. No 5AT G has the Rev-up. While all VQ35 motors have variable intake timing, the Rev-ups also have variable exhaust timing. The rev limit is a little higher on the Rev-up. The Rev-up also has a little more HP but less torque than the non-Rev-up motors.
I had the privilege of driving a 370z nismo from a friend and believe me, its not shit... lol. It's pull is just a little less than the nissan gtr's. (again privilege from a friend)
@BmoreGT No in between the 287 hp DE and the 306 hp HR Nissan made a 300 hp "Rev Up" DE motor. it was only offered on the 05 35th anniversary model and the 06's with manual transmissions. Then in 07 they switched to the HR motor.
@dukviper90 it was only available in the 35th anniversary trim for 05 retard. and that was not the HR. the VQ35HR was introduced in 07 and the extra 6 hp was not because it switched from dual to single intakes. the extra 6 horsepower in the because the HR motor was about 70% new design compared to the DE and so was just overall a more advanced motor. the dual intakes of course helped facilitate this.

I have the regular DE g35 coupe and that too has some oil issue every since i bought it 3 years ago and my girls black 05 is the same way. something we both learned to live it until they are gone.

The non rev-ups that I have seen their redline is 6600rpm. This redline is 7000rpm (Rev-up). I think you are thinking of the HR(high-rev) which does have the 9k rpm tach and a 7600rpm redline i believe.

actually its a bit faster then the normal 350z. A friend of mine has a stock 07 350z and test drove his vs my 07 nismo 350z, the nismo is actually a little faster. More traction on launch, its a little lighter about 100lbs.
actually no... my nismo is 3289LBS, and my friends was 3396lbs. He has the base model. All cars dont weigh the same anyway. Weights are averaged out, not weighed correctly.
the new SS is as about as fast to 60 as the new 370Z but the older 350Z nimso is not any faster than a stock HR equipped (2007/2008) 350Z. the new 370Z nismo has more power and can hit 60mph in 4.5 seconds, 4.6 for the stock 370Z so yeah they are as fast as a camro SS. both handle very well with the Z being lighter and more nimble.
The 370z is 4.7 seconds the ss is 4.6seconds and the srt8 is 4.7 seconds so its all a drivers race unltill you get up to 95mph or so and the 370Z will be eating dust.
350z is not crap! I've hit 160 in my 04 Z. And 0-60 is in 5.3 stock! The 07 and 08 did it in just under 5. All of that in a reliable nissan and i got mine for under $15k with only 50k miles. I don't understand why you would say they are overpriced jap crap unless you simply don't know what your talking about.

@Praz55 Powershifting is when you hold the gas down the entire time and you dont lift your foot. you shift normally but you have the gas held down. it will screech your tires when you shift through gears
@Praz55 power shift is just not letting off the gas in between shift, so you keep it floored the whole time, personally, not worth the extra strain on the drivetrain for the time unless a very slightly time difference is that big of a deal since you only shift once to get to 60 with this car.
@Praz55 powershifting is something people do in Hondas to try to shave time. You shift without letting go of the gas. On a VQ engine and tranny. You will grind hard and probably fuck up your car. What you do is let it bounce off the rev limited and shift with the clutch and when it grabs the gear, it helps get some extra momentum in the next gear.. Not worth the wear and tear.

i consider myself a good driver i already drive a car whenever i want and its more than a year since i started driving. I drive an 06 3.3l V6 Sonata. 235 HP. It`s fast... not too fast but fast enough, and i didn`t crash it... not even close to :D
if so go for it, but this car's problem not only that it's quick , there is no weight in the back, so you'll be sliding all over the place if you're not careful, get the one with the spoiler, car feels heavy and alot of fun , i might be getting one myself soon, but not sure
those numbers are wrong, and there is no such thing as "offical". the 2003-2005 models ran to 60mph in about 5.5 seconds with a 1/4 time ranging between 13.6 and 14.2 depnding on the driver. the 2006 was about 5.4 and the 2007/08 HR Z hit 60 in 5.0-5.1 seconds and 1.4 in 13.2 with a good driver. I have a 350Z, an 03 and have run the 1/4 in 13.68@104 and use a laptop to time 0-60 and hit it in 5.3 all the time.
the gradient is fairly level as in if you put the car in neutral and let off the brake it doesnt go anywhere. but i cant give you like a number or anything.

the VQ35DE isnt the "rev-up" more comonly known as "High Rev" (VQ35HR engine.
so that engine only has like 287hp, still a shitload. (HR has 306)

@Praz55 power shift is just not letting off the gas in between shift, so you keep it floored the whole time, personally, not worth the extra strain on the drivetrain for the time unless a very slightly time difference is that big of a deal since you only shift once to get to 60 with this car.

@Praz55 powershifting is something people do in Hondas to try to shave time. You shift without letting go of the gas. On a VQ engine and tranny. You will grind hard and probably fuck up your car. What you do is let it bounce off the rev limited and shift with the clutch and when it grabs the gear, it helps get some extra momentum in the next gear.. Not worth the wear and tear.

well its fast yes. handles well. comfortable for any type of driving. but it has this electronic feeling to it (335i as well). kinda of like you are driving a beastly computer and not a gas consuming v8. i feel all new cars from here on out will be like this you know. buddy of mine traded his brand new gt-r for an 08 viper for same reason.

And yeah I heard alot of people traded the GT-R, not because it was slow, but it was too boring and they traded for a vette or vipers, which have barely any computers compared to the gtr and feel more raw.

Dude I tried to launch off 4k RPM I got awful Tire spin I have an 08 350z I was just burning rubber and the RPM was bouncing all over the red line with the car drifting. lol wtf

i consider myself a good driver i already drive a car whenever i want and its more than a year since i started driving. I drive an 06 3.3l V6 Sonata. 235 HP. It`s fast... not too fast but fast enough, and i didn`t crash it... not even close to :D

if so go for it, but this car's problem not only that it's quick , there is no weight in the back, so you'll be sliding all over the place if you're not careful, get the one with the spoiler, car feels heavy and alot of fun , i might be getting one myself soon, but not sure

those numbers are wrong, and there is no such thing as "offical". the 2003-2005 models ran to 60mph in about 5.5 seconds with a 1/4 time ranging between 13.6 and 14.2 depnding on the driver. the 2006 was about 5.4 and the 2007/08 HR Z hit 60 in 5.0-5.1 seconds and 1.4 in 13.2 with a good driver. I have a 350Z, an 03 and have run the 1/4 in 13.68@104 and use a laptop to time 0-60 and hit it in 5.3 all the time.

the gradient is fairly level as in if you put the car in neutral and let off the brake it doesnt go anywhere. but i cant give you like a number or anything.

Yea pure american vettes... losing to a gtr. Whats wrong with nissan, they proved you can have horsepower and reliability in the same car. Once you go to take a corner in a vette you'll just slide off the road and the gtr driver will flip you off and he flys past you. ignorant redneck
