  • In the Book of Mormon, we read about Alma the Younger counseling his wayward son. Corianton had made some serious mistakes while serving a mission among the Zoramites. Alma loved him enough to speak very directly to the problem. He expressed his deep disappointment that his son had been immoral and explained to him the serious consequences of sin.

  • omg im mormon and its like christians except we believe in the book of mormon AND THESE PEOPLE R TALKING ABOUT JAHOVA WITNESS NOT MORMONS

  • @xAmybubblezx i know!!! thas what ppl kept mistaking me and my comps as when we tracting

  • thanks for posting this vid! im mormon. : ) tho i hate church its so boring dude!

  • @dinobird11 I agree!

  • nice.. looks peacful :P

    muslim kid <<

  • I've always been a bit perplexed by Mormons' insistence on being regarded as "Christian" when their beliefs are radically different in almost every way. I mean, even the very nature of God and Jesus are radically different. Why not admit and embrace the differences and stop trying so hard to "join the club" when it's not really possible to do so? Not looking to bash anyone here, just honestly bewildered on that point. Even Jos. Smith was honest enough to admit it in his time.

  • Thank you for sharing the video with us; I'm not Mormon but I appreciate it, since it answers questions that I had. The amount of myths that the general public believe (as you can see from these comments alone) astound me. People, instead of keeping yourself ignorant, just go talk to a missionary.

  • I was also taught that in order for my faith to increase, I needed to pray every day. In fact, I needed to pray always

  • Being provident providers, we must keep that most basic commandment, Thou shalt not covet (Exodus 20:17).

  • Good video; shows true points of the Church. I do not undertsand why some Christians say we Mormons aren't Christian, because we believe in Faith with work. Sure, God's grace Saves us as well as our faith in Jesus Christ, but the Bible says that faith without works is dead. If you have not charity or [service], (as Jesus gave during His mortal ministry on earth] you are nothing. Great vid! ^_^

  • what some of those people are saying is so funny to me. I know the church is true. It's obvious to me! I LOVE IT WITH ALL MY HEART!

  • wtf is a morman?

  • First of all, can't be Christian, if you disbelieve the holy bible and use another book as the truth. You speak of following the messiah but yet you put dark skinned people as an undeserving of the message when the bible clearly speaks an Ethiopian was baptized.

  • 1. We don't "disbelive the holy bible." We believe the Bible is the word of God, as well as the Book of Mormon.

    2. We absolutely do not "put darkskinned poeple as undeserving of the message." Missionaries are in every country in the world where they are allowed and invite ALL to come unto Christ, regardless of race or skin color.

  • Islamsucks911: Your comments are, sadly, so very ignorant. Did you not watch the video? Mormons DO read the Holy Bible. Also, for crying out loud, please use proper capitalization, punctuation, and grammar if you want to be taken seriously.

  • @Islamsucks911 Hey friend, why are you debating nice mormons when the bigger threat is atheism, especially here on utube? BTW. I am a Christian as well.

  • this was an amazing video and I'm glad it's out there to teach people about the church.

  • What a classic, I just had two mormon missionaries tell me that they are forbiddon to watch the internet. Yet here are all these mormons commenting online! The missionaries couldnt realy answer when I asked them why then they have a mormon website!

  • For those two years, missionaries generally are not allowed to use the Internet. Depending where they are in the world (and how good/fast normal mail is), they may be allowed to send e-mails to their family once a week. Other than that, missionaries do not use the Internet.

General members of the Mormon Church use the Internet just like everybody else! We are actually encouraged by our leaders to use the Internet to answer questions people may have about our faith.

  • Not all of us are missionaries. These requirements against watching the Internet, etc. are for the full-time missionaries.

  • I still find it fascinating that so many people seem to associate ONLY the Full time missionaries as Mormons. I have also talked to people who say that there are no Mormons in their town. They say there's no listing in the phone book, but they are looking for "The Mormon Church". When they look for the CofJCofLDS, they find that there are LOTS of Mormons and they are so surprised! If they were to attend worship services, they would be surprised at who they know!

  • All your videos are good and needed!! Thanks for all of tem!

  • You LDS members need to put your Mormon books down and read the BIBLE...you are NOT Christians, the video did not anwswer the question-Main difference- Christians believe you only need GODS grace PERIOD to be saved, NOT through WORKS...again I say READ YOUR BIBLE!!!

  • We do read the Bible. We are Christians. And we believe that it is only through Christ and His sacrifice that we can be saved, but that He expects us to follow His teachings and commandments.

  • Yes, we are Christian. We may not be Christians according to the mainline tradition, but we do believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Unblemished Messiah, my King, My Lord and Savior, and he lives! I am a born-again Latter-day Saint!

  • Ok, u believe the Bible thats great. So how are Christians and Mormons different? Its the other books. Christians don't believe them to be divinely inspired and I checked out the BoM and evidence points to that as well...I'm talking about JS's claim of being a prophet. He fails the biblical tests for prophets. Such as his false prophecies and character. I am going to do some more exploring with my mormon friends. Also, I don't see how you're Christians...

  • I think they hide their real beliefs from other Christians in order to blend in. They believe that Joseph Smith (from New York) was a prophet, they believe in baptizing dead people, and various other things. They don't share this with everyone else because they want to "blend in" with Christians. They read the Bible, but it takes a backseat to the Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price, etc.

  • Your comment made me laugh. If I understand right, you think we hide our beliefs about 1) Joseph Smith, 2) baptism for the dead and 3) "other things."

Have you ever talked to Mormon missionaries? In first meeting with you, they'll talk about the plan of God, Jesus Christ as the central part of that plan, and how He called Joseph Smith to restore His Church.

By the fourth meeting, they will talk about baptism for the dead. I even have videos about it on here as do others--hiding it?

  • Are you familiar with our belief of baptism for the dead? The apostle Paul taught about it in 1 Corinthians 15.

Jesus taught every person must be baptized to enter the kindgom of God (John 3:5). What about the people who never even HEARD the name of Jesus in their lifetimes? God would not be just if He did not prepare a way for them to receive this ordinance as well.

Therefore, members of the Church are baptized on behalf of these individuals, who have the agency to accept/reject it.

  • Polaris, have you ever read the Book of Mormon in its entirety? We invite everybody to read the Book of Mormon and to pray and ask God if it is true. God will answer through the Holy Spirit, just as Jesus taught that He would send the Comforter to teach us all things (John 14:26).

  • We are CHRISTian because we believe and follow Jesus CHRIST as our Lord and Savior.

Joseph Smith has no false prophecies, and many true ones. His character was no worse than any other prophet and apostle found in the Bible.

if you look for only the bad, you will find nothing but bad.

Read the Book of Mormon looking for good. Read, study, ponder, pray. Remember, those who are against the Bible only look for the bad in the Bible. They find it and don't believe.

  • But you don't believe that Christ is God. To be Christian, you must believe in the trinity. That God is comprised of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. This is true of all Christian faiths: Catholicism, Greek/Russian Orthodox, Lutheran, Baptists, etc. etc.

It wasn't even until recently that Mormon people wanted to be considered Christian.

  • Look at John 17:21-22 when Jesus is praying to the Father and says, "That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us."

He desribes the believers being as "one", just as He and the Father are. Surely the believers didn't physically become one being. No, instead, they were one in purpose, one in action, etc. just as Jesus and the Father are.

  • The church has had the name of "Jesus Christ" in it from the beginning! The Prophet Joseph Smith explained that "the fundamental principles of our religion are the testimony of the Apostles and Prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; and all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it."

This is not a new phenomenom. The LDS church has always been focused on Jesus Christ.

  • way to get it wrong PrepeiNa....First Article of faith...first thing all missionaries teach is "we believe in God the Eternal father and in His son Jesus Christ and in the holy ghost." That is what's taught every week since the church was established...

  • The word "trinity" is not found in the Bible anywhere. There is no formal definition of the word "Christian" in the Bible. In fact, it was the pagans who referred to believers in Christ as Christians. Paul referred to all believers in Christ as Saints.

We have ALWAYS been believers in Jesus as the Christ, or Messiah, or Saviour. According to the general definition of "Christian", then we are Christian.

  • "it was the pagans who referred to believers in Christ as Christians. Paul referred to all believers in Christ as Saints"

    great points, thank you!

  • you sir, are a very ignorant person.

  • Did you think of that all by yourself...ignorant is a big word for someone to just use it with no backing evidence...prove to me you dont worship Joseph Smith and that you dont put him on the same pedastel as Jesus...you cant because you as mormon do...your religion IS NOT DEVINELY INSPIRED!!!!!!!!!!It is inspired by a man...Joseph who?????

  • "Devinely" is also a big word for someone to use when spelling it wrong.

Be courteous to others here please.

  • I know that the people of the LDS church are wonderful, caring individuals.

But, dang do you guys make creepy videos.

  • I'm not sure why anyone would think this video is "creepy".

  • I get questions all the time about the Church and polygamy. What a better way to debunk this myth. I also think this should debunk once and for all the myth that we are not Christian.

  • this video is soo good i have been looking online and there has been alot more positive things about us it makes me excited to see that the truth is being spread.

  • I also think this is a great awsome video all people you should see it and just wanted to know you think you can tranlate it in many languages it be nice that other pople can understand it(maybe if youd like I can help translate in SPANISH? :-)what do you think?

  • I think it'd be awesome if you translated it in Spanish--lots of these videos need that to happen!

  • yes, this video is great,I hope that those people that hates LDS will have a chance to watch this video so that they will know something more about us....ciao....

  • Though God may send heavenly messengers in unique circumstances (many examples in the Bible), this is not typically how God communicates with men. Jesus taught "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance..." (John 14:26).

Through the Holy Ghost, we can personally find out if the Book of Mormon is the word of God; the same applies for all other truths.

  • Hey this is a great video! I'm LDS and it's really cool to see videos like this on youtube. I wish everyone who bashes the church would watch this. Thank you so much!

  • This is great...I think this should be sent to all those that are misunderstood about what we believe

  • I'd like to invite everyone to please rate the video and leave a comment about what you thought about the video!
