I keep returning to this video year after year. It is beautiful and inspiring and an added bonus of rekindling fond memories of when I lived in the northern hemisphere in snowy lands. Thank you DR.
cross country skiing is far more interresting than it looks like in the first place. we made a video about that. check out our cross country ski report
Dan do not cut the important first part of your Danumentary #7 as suggested below. This information has many applications and it is the soul of a very nice video. Your friend, lance...
I love this video, it's my favorite on all of YouTube.
I know the first part's important information, but is there any chance you could remake this video without the first 1:08?
Reason being, I've been creating playlists of videos to watch while I ride my indoor trainer and would absolutely love to have this one with without the intro to ride my trainer to.
I have lots of footage, but I don't have a story yet. The storyline part is always the hardest part to come up with. Good luck with your racing this year.
I just love this video and was watching it again and for the first time, noticed that marmot (or whatever it was) ducking back into it's hole in the snow. That music is just awesome... goes perfectly with the video.
Dan, what a great video! I've used your videos as way to motivate me on days when I just dont feel like training. I've been out of the competitive side of nordic skiing for about 12 years but because of your videos I have decided to get back into some sort of racing shape and race some loppets this coming season.
Thanks for the inspiration and I wish you the best in the coming years up to 2010.
hey I'm sorry you are no longer apart of the national team anymore. I am very appreciative of all the videos you post. I am a ski racer in high school and all of your videos are very inspirational. Best of luck.
Hi Kokkalappi - Yes, I will be training and planning to go all out for the 2010 Olympics. The indi2010 racing team is very competitive here in Canada and is on the podium at most Canadian races. This year will give me an opportunity to try new training ideas that I did not get a chance to try under the National team so it may be a good thing. I will keep posting videos to let everyone know how the year is going.
Hi Kokkalappi - yes that is about 30min from my house in Canmore, just above Banff near the Sunshine downhill ski area. The crust skiing is very good there in the spring. That footage was shot on 3 weeks ago on May 30.
First of all: Great video! I'm from Norway, and to be honest; the nature in Norway cannot come up to what you have got in Canada!
Just one question (sorry if you don't understand my english!): Will you still go all out for Vancouver 2010 after missing the seat at the National team? I hope to see you in World Cup in many years ahead, and good luck to all Canadian cross-country skiers!
i´m Gabriel Martos i was the spanish exchange student in 2005-2006 in HHS, i just wanted to say that it was a pleasure to meet you(your visit to algonquin park), and that i´m sure that your work will pay off in 2010, good luck

Where are you skiing in the video? If that is Canmore, that must be the ultimate cross-country ski - place in the world!
I feel sorry for you, being cut from the National team!
