  • wanna hear a joke? mark madden saying jack ham was better then LT

  • I knew from the moment I saw Mark Maddens face I was going to despise that annoying bastard

  • 2000 Baltimore still had the best defense, these guys don't even come close

  • You guys just hate Mark Madden cause hes man enough to state his own opinion and back him self up.

  • Comment removed

  • @wesd15 lol definitely

  • lol i hate mark madden hes a fat pussy know it all from shaler

  • I feel so sorry for Pittsburgh Fans because they have to listen to that fat fuck Mark Madden

  • still got nothing on the 86 giants

  • @56therealLT are the 86 giants even mentioned on any lists like these?

  • @DwightWhite78 Yeah ... they were number 3 .....

  • well

  • everytime i hear mark madden talk, i just want to punch that guy

  • mark madden, what a dick sucker. but i agree with steelers

  • The 70's Raiders made Lambert their bitch several times. Take Mean Joe Greene off that team and they don't win a single Super Bowl.

  • Only reason they are number 2 is because of the d line, which I will say is a good reason and a legitimate one. I still think theyre the greatest linebacking corps of all time

  • i really cant stand this mark madden. he sounds like popcorn popping in a microwave

  • Mark Madden thinks LT was only a pass rusher, fucking idiot

  • @matt35Adrian LT was just a pass rusher, hwo many ints did he have, im not positive but im pretty sure Ham has like 30 ints in his career, and they didnt pass as much as they did when Taylor played

  • @DwightWhite78 Who cares how many ints LT had?! He rarely dropped back into coverage, because he was flattening the QB!!! You're really going to judge a linebacker by how many interceptions he had? That's ridiculous! LT changed the linebacker position...forever. He changed football...forever.

  • @RockerNate81 So my point was he wasnt a complete linebacker, he was just a pass rusher, he couldnt cover shit, and thats why Jack Ham was a better linebacker

  • @DwightWhite78 Hahahaha...he couldn't cover shit? He may not have had many ints, but the ones he got were impressive. He was a great all-around athlete. He wasn't a very good coverage lb at first, because he rushed the qb when he wasn't supposed to (and it irritated the coaches). When he became more disciplined, he did fine in pass coverage. He probably didn't get a lot of ints because there weren't many balls thrown his way. Ever think of that?

  • @RockerNate81 So I guess int's dont matter is what you're saying?

  • @DwightWhite78 Well, sort of...I think you're missing the point. You can look at statistics all day long, but that won't tell you the whole story. The stats don't show the little things a player does to help his team win. I never said Jack Ham wasn't good. I'm just saying it doesn't make much sense to say he's better just because he had more interceptions! Is it all about creating turn-overs? Well, I can tell you that LT forced a lot of fumbles!

  • @RockerNate81 Im not saying he's better because of ints, but he was just an all around more complete linebacker, where as LT was a pass rusher, i'd say the best pass rusher of all time, but thats not all his position entails.

  • @DwightWhite78 Okay. I still LT changed the way that the linebacker position was played. He changed the way the game was played. Ham was great, but he wasn't on that level. The Giants had other guys they could use in pass coverage. They unleashed LT on the QBs. No one had seen a player like him before.

  • Ranked too high. The defensive line helped them out more than other linebacking corps did

  • @pbskids4000 Well either u are talking out of your ass and dont know what you;re talking about, or u haven't watched these guys play.

  • @DwightWhite78 These guys had The Steel Curtain D-line to help them out. Of course they are got extra help. The other linebacking corps played at the same level (if not better), without a dominate defensive line

  • @pbskids4000 ya it does help them out, but then why are players like Joe Greene, L.C. Greenwood, Dwight White, and Ernie Holmes so underrated on the charts, Greenwood should have been in the HOF years ago, and I don't see Joe Greene on the top 100 players of all time list and he is one of the best if not the best d lineman of all time, the only guy i would take before Greene would be Reggie White.

  • If Jack were playing today, he would be fined more than James Harrison and would be considered a dirty player.

  • Number 2, yeah right! Number 1 by far! Dome Patrol my ass!

  • I personally believe that everyone should shut the fuck up about Mark Madden. That's all.

  • mark madden needs to shut the fuck up

  • How the fuck are they not #1??

  • Not the best LB squad. They had the "Steele Curtain". Without front 4 they are not as good. They should not be ranked ahead of NY LB Squad with Taylor and Pepper Johnson. 3-4 LBs have more responsibility. LT and Ham are different players.

  • I'm a bit biased as a Steelers fan, but...seriously...how in the hell are these guys not #1?

  • 'LT was just a pass rusher'?

what an idiot. apparently never watched LT except in highlight clips

  • @PorkFrog

    You can say that again!!

  • @PorkFrog

exactly that dumb ass mark madded should be headed..smh

  • very interesting what fran tarkengton said

and i cant stand that fat fuck mark madden either

  • Rating the 'Aints LB trio ahead of the 4 time SB Steelers LB Trio, is as absurd as rating Judas ahead of Peter in the disciples !! What a frkn joke !! Russell should be in the HOF..

  • Rating the 'Aints LB trio ahead of the 4 time SB Steelers LB Trio, is as absurd as rating Judas ahead of Peter in the disciples !! What a frkn joke !! Russell should be in the HOF..

  • how in the hell did the saints beat them

  • i can see the current steelers linebackers being in the top 10 someday

  • This one should be #1. I can't move Mora's Saints down further than #2 or #3 because they had almost 0 help from any other players on their defense.

  • Jesus. It's either Steelers or Shit with that Mark Madden fuck huh?

  • "never been a better threesome" really mark? really?

  • Ohh yeah and mark madden... Jack Lambert the biggest intimidating, most dominant force ever? lmfao righttt. uhhhh Ronnie Lott? Dick Butkus? Jack Tatum. You do realize that people thought Jack Tatum killed a guy on the field right? Darryl Stincley ring a bell?

  • mark madden... if ur ever to see this comment, L.T. was "just a pass rusher" because he destroyed everyone.they didnt need him in coverage because by the time lt got to the qb, the qb would just be taking his third step and he would hit him.how the hell do u have a radio show?

  • @bobnnate mark madden is the biggest steeler kiss ass fanboy.i'm a die hard raider fan but i'm not delusional like this dude.

  • @dertylox45 yeah really.im sure just cuz he says tht this years steelers linebackers are good, they deserve a top 10 spot in history too. ill just suck all of Chicago's players dick's and ill be talking on the radio soon too lol

  • Mark Madden is an opinionated idiot who thinks the Steelers walk on water and everybody else sucks. I am no fan of the Steelers but in this case they should have been named no. 1. Jack ham was in a league with only one other player, Ted Hendricks. Jack Lambert was a holy terror up the middle and those two deserve to be in the Hall of Fame as they are. Andy Russell should be in the Hall of Fame along with them. They were hands down the best linebacking trio.

  • Fuck the saints, stupid bitches didn't win 4 superbowls because of their linebackers did they? Fuck no! Motherfuckers didn't win 1 superbowl until 2010

  • Comment removed

  • @nos212100 If i recall correctly people who use CAPS are goddamn internet pussies and if i recall steelers have 6 superbowls and saints have one... The steelers linebacks where a fuck shit of a lot better then the saints linebackers, here is the proof : Steelers defense is #1 all time in the 70s, All 3 steelers linebackers are hall of famers, jack lambert was the most intimidating human being to ever put on a helmet and cleets. Andy russell fuckin awesome and jack ham is a beast ass motherfucker

  • @nos212100 And since i ran out of writing space here is the rest, steelers linebackers went up against earl campbell, oj simpson, and tony dorsett... and the steelers won 4 superbowls because of the steel curtain. Now go jerk off to drew brees cause thats the closest thing to pussy you'll ever get

  • @Steelersarethebeasts im confused, u called drew brees a cat? is DAT supposed to be a threat?

  • @nos212100 Fuckin right!

  • oh and idk how the hell mark madden is from pittsburgh he talks like he's from another planet. no yinz accent lol.

  • hahahahah how in the hell are they second to anybody? two hall-of-famers and a multiple-time all pro. their stats speak for itself.

  • Mark Madden is a idiot

  • Seriously #2. Fucking people kill. Why can the Steelers never be number 1! Hands down best football team of all time! Suck on these nuts if you disagree!

  • mark madden= choad....nice biast opinion dick bag

  • oh yeah and so is harry carson. annoying know it all

  • shut mark madden LT is much better than jack ham and jack lambert

  • L.T was just a pass rusher... MY ASS

  • @snarf4me It's true.........

  • are u serious the steel curtain defense should be no.1 they have probably the best linebacker in the history of pro football in Jack lambert.

  • LT has 1000 tackles in his career moron!!

  • tarkenton said it best...17 yards rushing against the steelers "D"..in a superbowl !!!

  • Yawn... Ray Lewis alone owns every steeler Linebacker...

  • @TheRDawg52 He also owns your mom.......

  • @TheRDawg52 Oh, please ray ray is nothing more than a murderer and a loud mouth.

  • Mark Madden's mouth moves faster than the rest of his body. I guess its years of practice for eatin all that damn food lol

  • I hate mark madden and his opinion on lt not tackling even though he never had under 100 tackles in a season

  • 70's Steelers Defence was incredible. Secondary, Linebackers and the Curtain, they were all gamebreakers. But the linebackers weren't the heartbeat of the team, that was the Defensive Line, they MADE that defence almost unbeatable. Personally I think that that defence is only bettered by the '85 Bears (and there may be some bias since im a Bears fan) but im not going to argue too hard that they werent the greatest, its a pretty close tie!

  • 3:40 "there's never been a better threesome." i beg to differ...

  • # 2? Jack Ham and Jack Lambert are two of the greatest of all time. At # 1 they had the Saints, now I never saw those guys play, but I know for a fact that they aren't on the top ten linebacking list for sure. Steel Curtain, best defense of all time, anyone questions that they don't know what they are talking about.Joe Greene, L.C. Greenwood, Dwight White, Ernie Holmes, Jack Lambert, Jack Ham, Andy Russell, Mel Blount, Mike Wagner, Donnie Shell. L.C. Greenwood and White should be in the HOF.

  • I'm a huge historical Steelers fan (maybe not so much recently), but Mark Madden almost never knows what he's talking about. He thinks that the linebackers were the spearhead of that defense? No way. That D-line was better than any other to ever play the game. They led that defense, they led that whole team. Not to mention that he yells whenever he talks. He may be a fellow Steelers fan, but he's giving us a bad reputation.

  • Should be number one.

  • @UltimateLifeformRB What do you remember most about the Steeler defense? I can guarantee you it is not the linebackers, it is the defensive line.

  • 70s steelers are way better than the saints. This is the best! But the anouncer sayin jack ham is better than L.T., can't agree with that. L.T. gets an edge, but the combo of ham, lambert, and russell, nothing is close. Maybe they benefitted from the front four, but it worked both ways, anyways stellers linebackers No. !.

  • @harp1925 It's because L.T. got sacks that everyone puts him on a high horse. But he did NOTHING else. No coverage and very little run. Put that together with the fact that he was injury prone for much of his career, you got a very situational and inconsistent player.

  • @rorank I cannot agree with you, L.T. was awesome, he retruned a 100 yard interception to beat the lions in the early eighties, he could cover and was a ferocious tackler, he was the heart of the giants D. Joe Greene was the heart of the steelers D, replaced by Lambert in 75. Because the steelers were loaded defensively it is hard to put any individual above the team. L.T. made the giants D, ask joe theisman! Overall the Steelers linebackers are the best.

  • Comment removed

  • @harp1925 I must disagree. L.T. had 132 sacks and 9 interceptions. The amount of interceptions is fairly low for a linebacker of his stature and the amount of sacks he has, which is his most redeeming feature, is outshined by several other players. L.T. made the Giants D's pass rushing, that's for sure, but completely? Certainly not. LT was good at what he did, but not the best by any standards, and was extremely rigid compared to other Linebackers' versatility.

  • @rorank 132 sacks is incredible, I saw L.T. and the great steeler linebackers, I gurantee he would have started on the steelers, he is top 5, no question. Lambert, butkis, L.T., Ray Lewis, are the top, which order don't matter, Ham is just behind them, I take Lambert cause he was a leader, just watch what he does to the cowboys in Super Bowl X, but I can't say anyone was better than L.T., maybe as good, not better. I don't base my opinion on stats, but on viewing these players. L.T=great!

  • @harp1925 132 acks IS incredible, but it's not the best or in the top 10. My point is, is that the guys on the steel curtain and Butkus (I don't care for ray lewis) just way more versatile and workable than LT. Ham could Rush, cover, and stop the run. LT could only do 1 of those things as effectively. My point is he was one of the best at what he did, but he wasn't the best at his position. Like Michael Vick, he can run for 40 yards a couple times a game, but he can't pass as well as other QBs.

  • @rorank For pass coverage, Hamm and Lambert rule, for intimidation, lambert, butkis, L.T. and Ray Lewis are tops, for pass rush L.T. Overall I think Lambert was the most complete, but the size of Lambert and Hamm hurts against modern players, but I'm sure if they came up today they would be 20-30 pounds heavier. Anyway, I'm putting Lambert above all the rest, but he played with other great players, which could have helped, Pittsburgh was good before he got there.

  • @harp1925 I think I would go with Butkus overall. In my opinion the steel curtain really boosted eachother to their level. If they were alone, they would still be great, but not a 4-time superbowl player. If Butkus were in the steel curtain or even a better overall team period (while he was playing the bears had 1 winning season) Butkus would've been way better. I would have to make it Butkus, Ham, Ted Hendricks, and Lambert. Just my opinion.

  • @rorank Butkis was not as good at coverin people, Lambert and Hamm could cover. When Lambert joined the steelers they went from playoff team to dynasty. Ted "the stork" hendricks, not in the same league, just my opinion.

  • @harp1925 Ted Hendricks is extremely underrated. Look at the top 100 vid on him. Then tell me that isn't impressive. Next, Butkus was passable with coverage, but his is just crap compared to Jack Hamm and mininscule to Lambert's. But Butkus could make some plays when it came to coverage interceptions (22), considering he had 2 seasons less than Lambert and his 28 interceptions, you can't help but to wonder. I love Lambert, but he certainly didn't make the team a dynasty.

  • sorry people as much as I like the steelers.....they donot belong as number 2....they had a very talented front four in front four in front of them....that gave them lverage to do what they did....not saying they werent good...but guys who run the 3-4 the linebackers are the focus.....4-3..the pressure and talent is on the defensive line and you can see it...which is why..you have to give the saints number 1 the linebackers there was ridiculous...all four of them....and Im a giants fan....

  • This proves that the knuckleheads doing this list are MORONS! I don't know whom these goofs rated number one, but whomever it was, they weren't #1. The STEELERS are!

  • One word: Butkus.

  • why isnt andy russels a hall of famer!?!?!?!?!?!?1?

  • No. 2? UNBELIEVABLE!!! >:(

  • I cant stand that fat fuck mark madden.

  • @goodlookin41 word,he sucks so much steeler cock it's ridiculous.lt just a pass rusher?is he outta his fuckin mind?taylors rookie season he had over 130 tackles.i've seen this guy have pick sixes check the highlight reel.i'm not taking anything away from jack hamm or any of these steeler linebackers but taylor was the best

  • @goodlookin41 oath. most bias douche i've ever seen. and his voice makes my ears bleed

  • @goodlookin41

i fucking cant stand him either. its like hes out of breath after every word he says cus he is so fat

  • @goodlookin41

According to him the greatest thing ever are the Steelers and glazed doughnuts.

  • Without a doubt number 1. No other compares

  • WHO THE HELL IS NUMBER 1?

  • @farfegnoogen2342 Jim Mora's Linebackers, the Bill Parcells linebackers are better than Mora's.

  • This sick thing about that Steelers team is that Lambert lost to Webster in training camp constantly during Oklahoma drills.

  • people werent as good then in 70s then now so not really saying much if you were kid really wanting to play NFL badly

  • @TheRoflcopter3000 ahahahahahahahahahahaahahaha ........haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • @TheRoflcopter3000 OMG...but at least, back then, people knew how to write.

  • @TheRoflcopter3000 its whole different kind of game today. I wouldnt even take anyone before the 1980's if I had to pick a team to play for me and have them in their prime.

  • You ranked the Saints over these guys? Put the pipe down.

  • All 3 Starting Linebackers played in the 1976 Pro Bowl.

  • @snoopydog48us and 75 as well

  • #1 no doubt

  • He's just a troll. Meh, nothing special about him, just like the other thousand trolls.

  • 4 superbowl wins in 6 seasons. WOW. that is all i can say.

  • 9!! 9 hall of famers on 1 defense... theres no othr team that can do that!!!

  • @antirepublican123 Blame it on L4CES

  • @antirepublican123 Recently, I watched something on Investigative Discovery Channel about how a man poisoned and killed his neighbors, not because he was mad at them, but simply because he found them ANNOYING. Could you imagine what would have happened to me if I was his neighbor? I would have been history.

  • That's crazy how our linebackers were ranked #2. Are you kidding me? Jim Mora and the Saints at #1? I don't think these guys know how tough we REALLY were that well. But still, with a threesome of Jack Lambert, Jack Ham, and Andy Russell, we became the definition of defense.

  • @BuzzsawtheHedgehog It is just that there were FOUR great linebackers on that Saints team. Like Grunhard said, there was no defensive line in front of them.

  • @plntntvzn AND???? Not one of the outside linebackers was better than Jack Ham and not one of the inside linebackers was better than Lambert. Jackson was better than Russell. So the Steelers get punished for playing a 4-3, not to mention that the Giants linebackers were better than the Saints. Taylor, Banks, Carson, Reasons/Johnson. It is so obvious that a Saints fan must have made this list.

  • @L4CES Agreed. However, the Steelers' opponents were the ones punished. Still, to have 4 great linebackers was unusual. Now great call on the Giants because I used to think that the Giants of 1986 had 5 great linebackers. However, Pepper Johnson was still just improving in 1986, and was not truly great until 1988 while Gary Reasons was always very good, but was way too vulnerable to cut blocks to be considered great. Neither Tim Gunhard, nor Roger Craig, nor myself were Saints fans. No DL in front.

  • @plntntvzn Gary Reasons and Pepper Johnson are clearly the weak links. But again the Saints didn't field an OLB better than Lawrence Taylor or a MLB (ILB) better than Harry Carson. You can almost make the same argument for the Chiefs of the late '60s with Bobby Bell and Willie Lanier. It is clear that putting the Saints linebacking corp in first place is just not very good footbal knowledge/observation.

  • #1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Scary!!!! And what did the Saints when back then huh???

  • @havingfun1968 I understand what you are saying..but you gotta remember all they had was that linebacking core....if those guys had a halway decent offence....they would have won a superbowl or 2..they were really that good....I remeber watching those games man....,those saints linebackers were brutal...

  • Scary!!!!

  • To place these 3 linebackers at #2 is football blasphemy.

  • puhlleeeeeeeeeaseee! #2 after Jim Mora's Saints??? Are you joking? Whoever compiled this list and placed Ham-Lambert-Russell behind the Saints should have his license revoked as a Sports Writer. Lanier-Bell-Lynch was even better and certainly the Giants Taylor-Carson-Banks was better. They must be from New Orleans.

  • @L4CES Well to be honest with you. Everyone on that defense was great. Jim mora's saints had nobody on defense besides the LBs.

  • @ethanga62890 And it showed. Yard Allowed Ranks: '88 Pass D 19 out of 28, '89 Pass D 26 out of 28, '90 Pass D 19 out of 28, '91 Pass D 2 out of 28, '92 Pass D 1 out of 28, '93 Pass D 1 out of 28. 1993 Was an anomaly, their Pass D allowed so few yards because their Run D was atrocious, everyone ran on their face.'92 was their banner year, Toi Cook and Brett Maxie played very well in the secondary. But what's your point? The Saints LBs of that era were not better than the Steelers LBs.

  • @L4CES It is just that there were FOUR great linebackers on that Saints team. Like Grunhard said, there was no defensive line in front of them.

  • @L4CES

Could be. Or they don't really know football too well.

  • these steelers linebackers wouldn't be shit if it weren't for the steel curtain defensive line!!!

  • #2 - what a joke! #1 by far.

  • who the fuck is number 1 linbacker corps of all time?

  • 19th!

  • These guys definitely should have been #1. With the 200 Ravens right behind them

  • number 2 my ass

  • wrong LT wasn't only a pass rusher!! he also was good as a run stopper,

  • @l3ds92

And he was pretty good in coverage.

But we didn't need LT to do all that because we Carl Banks & Harry Carson on our team. So everyone did their. LT is better than that guy.

  • Best defense ever assembled, but I would pick the Giants linebackers 2 and the Steelers 3, but, admitedly, I'm prejudiced.

  • Lambert was a cast of thousands. He was smart, fiery, hard 2 block & nearly impossible to keep away from the ball. He was an excellent athlete, had wiry strength & was very good at slipping blocks. He was hard to get good shot at & tougher to knock off his feet. He was a killer in pursuit & deluxe pass defender. His great range enabled him to take deep pass drops & forced QB 2 loft the ball over his 6-4 frame, which gave DBs more time to close and break up plays. He processed plays like a computer

  • steelers are #1, the saints lets get real
