  • two lights in the night, night night , to me suggest, suggest suddenly ..what your eyes say, your eyes say without actually saying it fully, without actually saying it fully.

morning morning , time to rise when i come from the fight will i find will i find still memory of the dream

two lights in the night, night night , to me suggest, suggest suddenly ..what your eyes say, your eyes say without actually saying it fully, without actually saying it fully.

  • sun, sun low down to the sea, wind wind easy blow, who is dreaming dreaming about you (in female) in outpost(?) two lights in the night, night night , to me suggest, suggest suddenly ..what your eyes say, your eyes say without actually saying it fully, without actually saying it fully.

between rocks and mountains a lonely tree stands alone, who is coming who is coming to you in the end of the day??

  • "Shney orot baLayil, baLayil, baLayil - li romzim, romzim pit'om Ma omrot einaich, einaich, einaich bli lomar ad tom, ad tom..." Translation: Two lights in the night (in the night, in the night) giving me a hint, suddenly (about) what does your eyes says (your eyes, your eyes) without saying all the way through. poet: Yitzhak (Isaac) Shenharr Composer: Mordecai Ze'ira for further assistance, contact me.
  • @IsraeliGuy1000 please, put the whole lyrics of this song !

  • but bye the way, this song is one of my favorit Jewish songs. Just wonderful.

  • Ma Omrot Einaich = what do my eyes say

  • Ma Omrot Einaich = what do my eyes say

  • What does Ma Omrot Einaich means? I'm brazilian, and I'd like so much to know what does it mean...

  • The best performance of this song, without a doubt. the perfect tune for Ofra's voice.

  • how can I find the guitar chords for this?

  • That said... I looove (Yemeni) Ofra Haza! ;)

  • Bat Ye'or, Albert Memmi and others have documented the manner in which the Jews were treated as second-class human beings in the Muslim world for 1,400 years. The numbers speak for themselves: 97% of the Arab world's one million Jews emigrated.

The Arab world teaches its children that Maimonides was Arab, Ofra was Arab, etc. This is nothing more than the Arab insistence on culturally cleansing the Jews from history as a substitute for physically cleansing the Mideast of Jews.

  • Jabri is typical of the reason there should be complete separation between Arab and Jew - otherwise the Arab will NEVER allow the Jew the human dignity of his own identity.

  • Yes, we know... Jews are the perpetual victims and muslims the perpetual villains...

Were it not for Islam, Maimonides would not have been Maimonides...

Same old "2nd class citizen" canard... Perhaps you would have preferred to be a Jewish citizen of Europe pre-1945.. or a Palestinian in post-1948 Israel?

Forever thankless Yehudim... Were it not for the muslims protecting them, there would likely be no Jews left today.. to write facile, zionist-minded, revisionist crap on the internet...

  • @umaralansari Then Ofra was a Zionist-minded "revisionist". Here on YouTube (v=U0fGQvXOOdY) she says outrightly "My parents were in exile in Yemen - a place they didn't belong."

If you cannot appreciate Jewish history nor admit to Islam's persecution of Jews, then you should have the decency to stay off Jewish threads.

  • Granted. But I don't know exactly what she meant by "a place they didn't belong" - consider her deep love for Yemeni culture.

At any rate, her parents were religious Jews who emigrated to Palestine many years before the creation of the zionist state. Nowhere does she mention this being due to muslim persecution.

If you want to talk persecution perhaps you should research the historical marginalisation and assimilation (incl. stolen children) of Mizrahim incl. Yemenites by the secular zionists!

  • As for "muslims persecuting Jews" generally, just so much cheap zionist propaganda. Had the muslims treated the Yehudim the way Yehudim treat Palestinians... Where would you be now?

The historical fact, barring aberrations such as Kharajite ('muslim' extremist sectarian) persecutions of Jews, is that Jews flourished under Islamic rule as they had never done before, nor wer able to do until the approach of the 20th c.

  • umaralansari engages in cheap nazi propaganda. the truth is that the islamofascists have always murdered Jews and other non-moslems, for that is the way of Mohammed the lying, child molesting terrorist

  • @nakedBison69 One thing I will kindly ask you to refrain from; please do not insult the Prophet (pbuh). Insult me all you like, but not the person who muslims revere even above their own parents... I haven't insulted anyone's Faith; my beef is with Zonism, which was created and propagated by atheists, then taken forward by nazi collaborators (the zionist party was the only other political party allowed under Hitler)... This is not about Jews, it is about the enemies of all mankind: the Zionists!

  • one thing I will kindly ask you islamofascists is to refrain from; please do not murder Jews. have sex with camels all you like, but do not murder Jews. umaralansari insults and murders Jews. islamofascism was created and propogated by Mohammed the lying, child molesting terrorist, then taken forward by his islamofascist collaborators (the islamofascists was the only other group of murderers besides the nazis). this is about islamofascism, which is the enemy of all of mankind: the moslems!

  • @nakedBison69 Please get yourself checked into a clinic. You are suffering a psychotic episode. If this is not the case, then you are even more of a danger to the general public and I sincerely hope God will remove you from our midst. Ameen.

  • umaralansari needs to get himself checked into a clinic. umaralansari is suffering from psychotic episodes, just like Mohammed. umaralansari is a danger to the general public and I sincerely hope G-d will remove umaralansari from our midst. amen

  • @umaralansari

There is still hope for you. God loves you. If you accept him, you will be granted a place in heaven. The desert demon you worship leads you to eternal damnation. God is the truth. Baal is damnation. The truth lies even in your spelling: when you refer to Mohammad with "peace be upon him"; why should the messenger, the messiah not be in peace? He, that made up Islam? The truth is: to become mighty he sold his soul and seduced you. He burns in hell until the end of days. No peace.

  • @tgvoelker Burn in your cradle of filth. God damn you and your like. Ameen.

  • @umaralansari

Allah may damn me, but Allah is not God and I am neither filthy nor seduced. God is love, Allah is hate. You see the truth, but you do not accept it so far. But again: a place in heaven is granted, if you just accept God.

  • @tgvoelker I do not agree. If Allah is God he is love. Its wwritten in the Koran. Its not Allah who hates. Its human behavior. Humans think they know what Gods will is - or even worrest: They abuse the name of Allah or God for their godless hate. All religious conflicts in the world are not really about God. Its always about power. Its about the oppression and exploitation of a very small group of men (always men!) of the rest.

  • @Miguel53de

You should consider reading the Quran and the Hadith. Knowledge is guaranteed. Only the Quran comes with instructions "how" to interpret, the later verses abrogate the earlier. And - God is NOT Allah. Allah is a moon idol - and you should recognize this when looking on flags of islamic countries.

  • @tgvoelker Shemesh, shemesh rad laYam, rooach rooach kal yehom.

Mi cholem, cholem alayich, beMishlat, mishlat eyrom.

translation: the sun (Shemesh) goes down into the sea (yam), the wind (rooach) lightly roars (yehom).

who's dreaming (cholem) about you (alayich), in a deserted post (army post "Mishlat")

  • @IsraeliGuy1000 ben sla'im, sla'im, vaHar, etz boded, boded yinom.

mi holech, holech elayich, im arov, arov hayom.

translation: between rocks (sla'im), rocks and mountains (VaHar), a lonely tree (etz), is sleeping.

who's coming your way, when the sun sets...

  • @umaralansari I do not agree that "Allah is not God", that is unfair. You can call God by any name if it is said with respect. BUT, who are you, or anyone, to call upon God to damn anyone, would you take the place of God? Or trust God to decide who is, and who is not, to be "damned". Not really your place, is it?

  • And fyi there is no such thing as a "Jewish thread". We are free to comment on any video. As an (obvious) zionist, you would know all about throwing your weight about and making your voice heard...

  • @umaralansari, Lech lehizdayen!

  • @MatkalSayeret... Al ta'atzben otti, zevel ofot...

  • it's funny how they "claim her back as Yamanite", considering all the persecutions the Yamanite jews had to (and still do) suffer in Yaman, just for being non-muslims.. But now, all of a sudden, she's yamanite for them.. go figure.

  • Dannyyerushalayim :

YES, I CAN TRANSLATE THAT COMMENT FOR YOU.

  • by the way could somebody translate dolev's comment in to either German or English for me.

    Thanks a bunch.

  • Dolev said :

Did you notice that all the people who took part in the clip were looking down and singing?

Maybe they got songbooks so they'll remember the lyrics? is that a production trick?

  • Yemen is too conservative for this.

Oh she is not veiled!!! oh, oh!

By the way jabri you are very ignorant.

Just because her parents are from Yemen

doesn't mean she is. She was born in Israel!

And if you ever noticed she doesn't sing in Arabic but in Hebrew (Ivrit).

Hebrew is way cooler than Arabic.

  • Never and it will never be

  • she's so pretty & talented yemen should've claimed her back ;)

  • Typical Muslim attitude, thinking you can claim someone back. Ofra was a proud Israeli down to her core! Yes she appreciated her families yemenite roots, but even her Yemenite songs were written by a Yemenite Jewish rabbi!

  • i didn't claim her back as a muslim but as a Yemeni & her hall tribe has been in yemen for god knows how long & they spoke Yemeni Arabic except for the rabbis who had to know hebrew, so they were Arab for 2000 years & then they turned their back to us in yemen & left to join european jews they never lived with .. As a Yemeni & Arab and a tolerant muslim i cant help but feel that they sold us out & sold their country Yemen out !

  • The reality for many Jews living in the middle east in countries other than Israel is that they can live peacefully as long as they accept second class status. Ofra and her family clearly had strong attachments to her Yemenite roots, as well as strong love for Israel & Judiasm. Her family like many others did not want to be second class citiizens. If the attitude of the Muslim governments toward Jews was different you would have larger population of Jews through out the middle east.

  • @educatedpug

Jews from Arab countries coming to Israel were treated as second-class citizens as well. That's the worst thing about it all.

  • @educatedpug Agreed. Jews lived among us as original part of our societies and played critical roles in our common history. As the sectarian and discrimination tone grew louder that seized to be true and the establishment of Israel as an independent state became a necessity. Palestinians are victims of this new fact but this can be worked out somehow. Greetings from Saudi Arabia.

  • Gee, maybe if it weren't for the riots and pogroms killing a bunch of jews, forcible conversion of Jewish orphans, etc., etc., they would have stayed. Kinda looks like Yemen, like many other countries, sold them out....

  • jabri11 - they were never arabs, just like living in Norway for 100 years won't make YOU a norwegian, but an arab with nowegian citizenship.

much like arabs, the jewishness is a race, ontop of Judaism, which is a religion. just like an indian will be an indian for good, no matter what religion he'll choose to believe in.

So no, they were never arabs, nor were they muslims nor were they anything but jews living in Yaman (and persecuted for it)

  • sure they can become partially arab, many Jews in north Africa had Arabic names along with their jewish names & where ministers & scientists .. also North Africans were Barbers before they learned Arabic & intermarried with Arab tribes & became Mosta'ribah (a word for someone who became Arab) & today Algerians Libyans & all north Africa are by all means Arabs , except for few who still use the Amazigh language & they are usually Beduins who never interacted with the city people over the history

  • but i'll add yah sure its a race & Jews will remain jews, but this claim about being persecuted for being a jews has become a Jewish habit ! its nothing less of an exaggeration & possibly just made up stuff that was announced to scare the Yemenites into moving to Israel. However, I think they should at least play a rule in Israeli politics & stop this blood thirst, land thirst, & daydreams about the alleged never proven Suleman's temple, which christians fantasize about in their sermons

  • man you know so little I wouldn't even know where to start with ya..

  • the last 2000 years didn't matter to those who fled !? & i find it very weird , however few who felt that its wrong stayed & even if their life is not as wealthy at least they know where they truly belong

  • I noticed many grammar mistakes in my old translation, so here's the corrected (I hope) translation: (1) Sun, the sun sank into the ocean as light breeze is cooing Who is it to dream of you in a bare remoted army front post? CHORUS: Two lights in the night hinting me suddenly What are your eyes saying, without ever saying it completely?
  • (2)

    Amid rocks and mountains

    a sole tree slumbers

Who is it to march towards you at twilight?

    CHORUS

Morning, with the morning as I wake

I shall return to the battlefield

Would I still be able to trace

    a remnant of that dream?

    -end-

CHORUS: Two lights in the night (the night, the night..) to me, they suddenly hint what says your eyes (your eyes, your eyes) without ever saying it through?
  • (2) Amid rocks and mountain a sole tree is sleeping who is going towards you (towards you, towards you) at twilight? CHORUS Morning, morning, as I wake I shall rejoin to the fighting will I still be able to trace a remnant of the dream? -end-

  • So what you gonna do about it. It's awful!!!!! It's sound shity.

  • Not to mention your proficiency in the english language. You really got to do something about it. FOUR identical "comments" in crappy english. That's low. Did you sleep trough school or do you come from a third-world country?

  • amelhype is awful. amelhype sounds shitty

  • She is so adorable!

I wonder, am I the only one who finds some of these beautiful folksongs having a certain russian touch to their melody and beat?

Could it be that the first jewish immigrants from Russia in the 1800s brought with them a musical legacy that was to be interwoven in the israeli musical tradition?

  • You are not wrong. indeed, the jewish immigrants from russia brought the russian music with them and it had tremendous influence on the hebrew music in it's earlier stages and later on.

  • Great song!!!!

  • Ofra Haza was a great, gorgeous singer..But I cant find anywhere the lyrics for this song..Can someone help me please and post it here?

  • the lyrics are in the subtitles in Hebrew, since the quality of the recording was low, this looks like an old Israeli TV recording. Lyrics sound like they are from late 40's or early 50's.

  • The most beautiful and talented singer with a unique voice! Rest in peace, sweet Ofra... You will never be forgotten...

  • mr1001nights is an islamofascist terrorist, just like his nazi butt buddies whom he clearly admires

  • naturally mr1001nights hates both America and Israel. that is because mr1001nights is an islamofascist terrorist who wants America destroyed and all Jews murdered. mr1001nights is a finger-pointing hypocrite. mr1001nights the nazi islamofascist fully supports the islamofascist genocide being committed against the Jews. mr1001 the totalitarian stalinist nazi wishes to perpetuate the Holocaust against the Jews. mr10011nights is exactly the same as the islamofascist nazis he loves so much

  • @nakedBison69 You have been absolutely brainwashed by Zionist propaganda. What Islamofascism? Give me a break. If anyone is committing genocide, it's the Jews, murdering hundreds of Palestinians every day. But then, the Jews have always committed mass murder to achieve their objectives. Like the holocaust for example, which was funded by a jewish family bank, the Rothschilds.

  • Beautiful and haunting.

    What a terrible loss.

  • I can't recall a more beautiful voice...

  • nice song. btw, lol the lady at the start of the clip must have smelled something..

  • Ofra Haza foi e sempre será a cantora símbolo de nossa amada Israel. Esta música é simplismente fantastica.

    Shalom!

ACG e MESG de São José do Rio Preto, SP, Brasil

  • SpankRamen

Can't agree more! To the point! Especially if u see the old BW clips u will see what i mean pure sweetness beauty

  • the title: "what do your eyes say?"

one of her greatest first hits, it combines a little of the yemenite tunes with a little bit of pop.

  • a radiant singer with a beautiful voice, demeanor, face... not to mention the content

  • She never had to take off her clothes & grind her way around the stage to look beautiful. This is what set her apart from the pop tarts we have here in the US. All you had to do was hand Ofra Haza a microphone & the beauty spilled out all by itself. She never sold herself which is why she has love & respect 7 years after she's been gone.

  • You are SOOOOOOO right!! Britanny, Mariah, Beyounce, Madonna and Jennifer don't hold a candle next to Ofra, because she is never exploited herself sexually to make a few million....she respected herself. RIP God's angel!

  • what is it about?

  • ofra haza is singing a song about luxcretia2

  • I love her, thanks gil1111
