You still search for guns in Halo: Reach. Armour abilities are NOTHING like perks. They don't change how fast you reload, let you see everyone on the map regardless of movement, help you do more damage, or anything like that. You can't equip more than one, you can't unlock extras, and you only get a select few to choose from. I fail to see how they're like perks at all.

i remember when the 1st HALO came out on Xbox. i must have played like hell trying to keep as many of them stupid soldiers alive through each level. when 1 died i would restart from last check point. because after you beat the game so many times there wasnt much to do if you didnt have a bunch of trigger happy friends over.
The entire game was meant to be like this; on earth. It was MEANT to end the fight, and it honestly looks better than what we got. That shit with the prophets and the return of the flood just ruined the story for me. Sure, the next halos were fine, but they were more focused on multiplayer than anything else. The campaigns were just criminally short.
I remember watching the halo 2 trailers... and this demo... and I was convinced halo 2 was going to be the best videogame every made. Yeah, didn't really turn out that way. The epic ... awesomeness... in this demo... didn't come into gameplay until Halo Reach... and I still think this would have been easily better than any level in halo. Not bashing halo though lol... I'm a die hard fan don't get me wrong. I'm just frustrated they showed this and the whole game didn't even measure up to a demo
They should have included this level with Halo 2, when it came out, I was expecting to fight on earth, causes of all the taglines saying welcome to earth, not another halo... but other then that, halo 2 was still ok...
imo halo 2 still remains the best halo overall (in terms of multiplayer and campaign), i used to spend months on end on that game with my mates in custom games and matchmaking it was amazing, though i must admit this tralier certainly looks alot more appealing- but the halo 2 we ended up with was great enough.
I liked the Brute design in Halo 2. I think trying to have them replace the Elites was kinda dumb in Halo 3. Can't put my finger on it, but the Brutes in H3 were just too... sleek?
Who agrees that the battle rifle should have still have had the same sound and rate of fire as the one here. Also thumbs up if you agree that Xbox live for original xbox should be started up again.
Bungie did make this level, and they DID make all the assets for it. Hell, some of the enviromapping in the game still show this level in it's reflections.
But they had to cut it because the game was coming out on a last-gen console, which isn't their fault.
They did not cheat you at all. They were forced to develop most of the game within a damn year. Under what they went through with Microsoft, they owe you nothing. Just be happy the game was even able to come out at all.

Anyone notice the graphics in this were way better then the actual game? That's because they made this tech demo for the PC first, then the xbox. It's too bad they didn't make the PC port look like this though, that would have been awesome.

I remember watching the halo 2 trailers... and this demo... and I was convinced halo 2 was going to be the best videogame every made. Yeah, didn't really turn out that way. The epic ... awesomeness... in this demo... didn't come into gameplay until Halo Reach... and I still think this would have been easily better than any level in halo. Not bashing halo though lol... I'm a die hard fan don't get me wrong. I'm just frustrated they showed this and the whole game didn't even measure up to a demo

They should have included this level with Halo 2, when it came out, I was expecting to fight on earth, causes of all the taglines saying welcome to earth, not another halo... but other then that, halo 2 was still ok...

imo halo 2 still remains the best halo overall (in terms of multiplayer and campaign), i used to spend months on end on that game with my mates in custom games and matchmaking it was amazing, though i must admit this tralier certainly looks alot more appealing- but the halo 2 we ended up with was great enough.

I liked the Brute design in Halo 2. I think trying to have them replace the Elites was kinda dumb in Halo 3. Can't put my finger on it, but the Brutes in H3 were just too... sleek?
Reach was a fun throw back. Like old times.

Bungie did make this level, and they DID make all the assets for it. Hell, some of the enviromapping in the game still show this level in it's reflections.
But they had to cut it because the game was coming out on a last-gen console, which isn't their fault.
They did not cheat you at all. They were forced to develop most of the game within a damn year. Under what they went through with Microsoft, they owe you nothing. Just be happy the game was even able to come out at all.

i actually like the halo 2 we have now, i think it's the best halo game in the whole series... you guys act like it's horrible,... it's not. it's really good, although adding this would've made the game even better... master chief has more BA moments in halo 2 than he does in all the other games lol. just my opinion haha. i wish reach had more halo 2 type things in it :D

Anyone notice the graphics in this were way better then the actual game? That's because they made this tech demo for the PC first, then the xbox. It's too bad they didn't make the PC port look like this though, that would have been awesome.

@g0dztwinz thats because in this the AI was encoded to drive, whereas in reach they gave all AI encodings to drive whenever, a much more complicated thing than a specific set path and time to drive

I remember watching this and it was so intense, blew my mind!Got the game and blew in my pants from complete disappointment, the finished version of Halo 2 paved the shitty way for number 3 and ODST.I'm not hoping but i will be getting Reach because i have faith it will be different(why didn't they stay with the Halo 1 style!?)
