Great CPU, "bank for the buck" Got mine yesterday, 8th of jan AMD phenom II 940 am2+ overclocked CPU-cooler: V8 CoolerMaster multiplier:19 volt :1.45 volts clock :200 mhz Stable at 3.82 GHZ (runs anything) Upgraded from a Intel E6750 (stock 2.66, mine oced:3,6) It gave me a big performance boost. Benchmarks test confirm the Intel-i7 is faster, but I always check: Price/performance = AMD phenom II 940

Multiplier: 19.5

volt: 1.5 ( didn't go hight due to aircooling)

clock: 210 mhz (I downclocked the ram otherwise no boot/post)

stable @ DO THE FUCKING MATH ! = multiplier x core speed = TADA ! AMD is very fast.

I also placed some extra 200 mm Fans in my system to get better airflow. Otherwise You'll get Bluescreen or crashes after an hour or so.

Yeah i gotta say im impressed.AMD is getting closer day and day.Intel isnt going alot further, because AMD just develops a better CPU and if Intel makes a good one AMD responds.

my next rig will hav one prob the 955 with the 8 series chipset, but right now im running intel qx9650 and a qx9770

Actually AMD got intel by the balls. They own the AMD64 patent, which all newer 64bit intel processors uses.

Without it, Intel couldn't do jack shit, and they would die the second people started switching over to 64bit.

teh AMD PhenomII 940 is running just behind the Intel Core i& and its about 1/4 the price of it...coming out 98th Jan 2009....and the best thing is they ran it a 6.3 ghz...intels cpu would have fried by then lolololololol

core 2 is cache hungry the Q9550 isn't totally fair since it has 12MB of cache. I believe that's why AMD slides showed Q9400. Any ways it's 1% behind some thing that's got 25% more cache. O_o It's by no means slower the york field.
