I bellydanced when I was pregnant. My baby was breach and I stopped bellydancing for a week and my baby got into the correct position. I started bellydancing again towards the end and it made my water break a few hours later. I labored for 32 hours cause he was posterior. He was in the correct position until I started to bellydance. It's not safe for every pregnant women. Back labor without epidural is no joke. I wish someone would do a study, an actual scientific study to know what I did wrong
lol i'm afraid to know what I'm going to look like at 6 months! My belly is already a little bigger and i'm only at 3 rofl. I'm kinda freaked out to keep bellydancing too lol but my body keeps telling me "dance woman dance!" lol.
Really beautiful performance! =D
I bet baby could dance like this right after birth lol
That was beautiful, thank you for having it up here - it really encourages me. I did some when I was younger, and haven't for over a decade, but in my third pregnancy I've picked it up again, and found many many benefits. It's so beautiful to see what I may accomplish once I've had time to get into things.
Actually, midwives and doctors encourage belly dancing during pregnancy, as it was originally a dance created to help a woman ready herself for labour. Sorry to disappoint you.
I have just started to learn belldance. I am also trying to get pregnant and dont want to stop...is it safe to continue dancing...my teacher says it isnt safe...what is your view? obviously you think it is, but you are a professional?
It absolutely is safe to continue. Our studio's prenatal bellydance class teacher is a medical professional and says as long as you avoid the sharp locks and heavy-duty shimmies, it is totally safe. It actually is beneficial to continue bellydancing while pregnant because it will help the pelvic and abdominal muscles and joints to get ready for giving birth. Also, if you follow an exercise program before getting pregnant, it is terribly UNhealthy to stop it during or just before pregnancy.
when you wanna be in usa, and be pregnant again. let me know. i want to goto deutschland, or osterreich. and find you. goto east berlin., and live with your pregnant body
dear Tamara, thats one of the greatest videos! I wanted to ask about that song, where you have been dancing with veil. What´s the title? Thanx and best wishes to the baby, you (both) were gorgeous.
@bellydancertamara You did a fantastic job with this performance. The choreography is amazing and your costume along with those great looking red and green veils is just gorgeous. Well done. Ms. Tamara.
