I hope my friend that you are doing the same and looking into Christianity. Pick up a Bible and read it. I'm reading a Quran. Islam does teach good morals as do most religions. The problem is that Islam teaches laws. Meaning the burden of making it to heaven is on the submitter. No one person is able to live perfect and if our salvation depended upon following rules we'd all be going to hell. Don't depend on yourself to be worthy, I'm not worthy of heaven only through Christ will God accept me.

He even goes to various prisons in the US and asks the criminals, if they had the choice of an Islamic punishment vs. western punishment.... would they be willing? Not surprisingly, more then 90% said they rather take the Islamic punishment. Its an amazing situation... the criminals confessing the punishments they prefer.

And just one of these companies can print as much as 8 millions bibles a year in 2009, and that's just the start. I hope my friend that you are doing the same and looking into Christianity. Pick up a Bible and read it. I'm reading a Quran. Islam does teach good morals as do most religions. The problem is that Islam teaches laws. Meaning the burden of making it to heaven is on the submitter. No one person is able to live perfect and if our salvation depended upon following rules we'd all be going to hell. Don't depend on yourself to be worthy, I'm not worthy of heaven only through Christ will God accept me.

Islam teaches laws because there has to be some level of justice on the earth. sadly muslims have strayed far from their teachings. but the fact is, read the Quran, you'll find that God is the most forgiving, the most merciful, over and over throughout the whole book. but we have to repent, and we have to be mindful of God.

I recently came across an amazing essay, The prisoner's dilemma by Stephen Chapman. He argues how Islamic punishments are more humane then western punishments. He even goes to various prisons in the US and asks the criminals, if they had the choice of an Islamic punishment vs. western punishment.... would they be willing? Not surprisingly, more then 90% said they rather take the Islamic punishment. Its an amazing situation... the criminals confessing the punishments they prefer.

No one is perfect, but it clearly states all over the Bible that God will not be mocked, and no liar, murderer, adulterer ect will be in the Kingdom of God without repentance. Jesus is what saves you, but if it is a real conversion you will repent. THat is the true message of the Bible.

Its easy to find many books without a single error if properly checked nowadays. A school text book for example. Is it from Allah? Of course not. The Laws from the Old Testament were "don't commit adultery" etc, the punishment for them was death under the OT covenant. The price for all sin (death) has been paid in the New Testament. So according to the Bible you shouldn't kill anyone, but love everyone as Jesus commanded.

BaronFitz, No it doesn't. You should learn to understand something before you attempt to slander it. The Laws from the Old Testament were "don't commit adultery" etc, the punishment for them was death under the OT covenant. The price for all sin (death) has been paid in the New Testament. So according to the Bible you shouldn't kill anyone, but love everyone as Jesus commanded.

Sorry but the Bible is banned since the cultural revolution.. ofcourse there are lots of bibles in Mainland China, but those are revised by the CCPC, shortened and rewritten espacially huge parts of the new testament.

The US needs to transform with the rest of the world and drop this medieval dependence on religion. This country needs to break with it's religious fundamentalism and conservatism. The world and science will continue to advance with or without the US. Either we can transform and attack the future aggressively or follow the Middle East's example and regress. Praying before running into battle against a superior enemy hasn't worked well for the Iraqis. Don't let religious weakness cripple us too.

Simple, America is the strongest nation through exploitation, capitalism n because of industrial era mainly, when they took over as worlds leading economic power.
