G# F# B E G# C# is the tuning for the ones that wonder. Buy 0.12 gauge strings or higher to be able to tune it this low without loosing to much tone (0.10/11 gauge strings stops picking up the frequency on the first G# String)

Lol. The only difference between baritone guitars and 'regular' ones is the scale which is only meant to keep it in tune better and make it a little more comfortable to play. It isn't necessary though. This band being an example of that statement.

Uh this song is in g#. And I'm not even positive architects used baritone when they recorded this song and it sounds fine to me. And I have a gibson SG that I almost always have tuned to B or B flat. So your wrong dude. So is your "experienced guitar tech".

Hey how did You dropped do G# ? Is this a baritone or modified guitar? What strings gauge have You used?

you have to use higher gauge strings, so it doesn't flop around as much. for this i used 12 gauge strings. its not a barritone either, standard ltd ec-1000

A luthier that used to care about my gear told me that non-baritone guitar is untunable lower than drop C - he was a very experienced guitar luthier (over 30 years of experience) - wonder why he told me that -_-

moron maybe? lol. alot of bands are tuned to drop B and lower. architects album ruin was recorded in B, parkway drive are in B. my band are in B. None of them / us use baritone guitars. Ironically we all use LTD guitars

a agree with you, i had the same debate with my pother guitar player about baritones/ sevens strings, saying that you just need to use thicker gauge strings..

Every Architects release to date has featured a different guitar tuning. On Nightmares, the guitars were tuned to Drop C. On Ruin, the guitars were tuned to Drop B. On the Architects/Dead Swans Split EP, the guitars were tuned to C# standard. On Hollow Crown, the guitars are tuned as low as Drop G# (for example, in the song Early Grave) This was achieved by tuning down the lowest string to an Ab from the aforementioned C# Standard.

nah. 6 string. i use gauge 12's so you can drop the tuning quite low. they probably used like 14's or 15's in the studio though

it's not the actual song, i took it from the radio1 podcast though, so the quality is near CD. I took the audio from the hollow crown transmission and slipped it in, hence it being unsencored, couldn't stand the annoyance any longer. haha
