Absolute magic!! Dot hd a few mishaps in her life, but she was great trouper. So much emotion in her song /delivery. They dont make themlike this anymore.
I cried like a baby when i heard "Dot" sing this again, i am 65 next year and am a 17stone bloke. Knowing her life story i know she sings it with true feeling bless her.
A very close friend of mine had the rare privilledge of knowing Ms Squires from 1994 until she passed away. She was and lady and tenacious until the end. A legend.

Dame Shirley Bassey is her own special creation. But I bet she was influenced to some degree by Dorothy Squires. I see several similarities. Of course Dame Shirley is the new and improved version in my opinion. Dorothy Squires is quite the talent too. What is up with these Welsh superstars! Is the water? Wow!
I always loved Dorothy . Such a sad life but she gave so much and her emotions showed in her voice . That's what gave her that unique quality . No one else ever came close . Every time I hear her , my eyes fill with tears . Thanks Dorothy , you will live forever in the hearts and minds of your fans .
What a performer A STAR who had a troubled path, perhaps this is why every concert was a event. I spoke to her several times on the phone from 1992-1996 and wrote her many letters. I found a warm genuine person away from the spotlight. and was glad I had the courage to phone her A LITTLE SCARED was an understatement but worth it.
I was lucky to see her `live` many times between 1973 and her final concert at the Dome, Brighton, England the week before her 75th bithday. I wish someone would trace all of the available clips, restore them fully and release them as a DVD.
i would pay any price to get a dvd from dot!i think she's a great performer and voice is so true and powerful-glad to hear from someone who had the chance to saw her live !
Dorothy was great friends with my grandmother in Llanelli, South Wales. My gran would always tell me about the parties they would have in her street. She brought Roger Moore to my gran's house on a number of occasions. I never met them though :(
Quite wonderful to see and hear her again doing this one ... it is to be hoped she lies peaceful and calm now she's laid to her rest! Dot you were simply the BEST ...
Stunning just stunning, thanks for posting

@IFINEVERSING I agree, i would love to see more footage of her performing. So happy that most of Shirley's concerts are filmed.

Peace of mind, I don't think she had a lot of that, she gave herself to her audience. That is a fantastic performance. I hope she has peace now.
