So beautiful the love between that mother and baby. Mama working hard to do her job...baby cooing back. I cannot believe that so many ignorant people think (if they really do think) and believe that animals feel less than we do.

I cannot believe Bear Poaching still exists. Shame on Humans who feel they deserve to slaughter, trap and use these animals for their financial gain. I am ashamed to be the same species as they are..

Been watching Jewel on Den Cam for days since it was talked about on Prairie Home Companion. Missed the great birthing moment, but glad I get to see it now.

Heard about it on the PHC re-broadcast on AFN, Europe, on Sunday and kept watching ever since. We were lucky, since our local time in Germany was 14:22 when the long expected first cub finally arrived.

I would not bee too surprised if there were even three of them, since the typical sounds from Jewel occurrred three times altogether, in intervals of about seventy minutes. (I am no "bearologist", though.)

Happy Days are here again. A new saga continues. Have kept the cam on my puter all day. They sure are vocal little ones. I don't think they have shushed since they were born. Poor Jewel, no sleep now. Thank you all for working so hard for all of us to be able to be a part of this blessed event

I tried to stay awake wit you Jewel of the NORTHWOODS but I fell asleep! Happy to see you and your cubblets made it through the birth alright! Been a long few weeks watching and waiting...
