There are some guys in here that start compare dB gain with other setups without even understanding how dB is meassured. Decibel is a logarithmic scale. +3dB is as doubling i gaine. +10dB is 10 times as much as. +20dB is 100TIMES as much gain!!! +30dB 1000times and so on.
So if you guys are comparing your "small" subwoofer that does 120dB in your car, with a system like this that does like 160dB!! You can not even compare it! It is 1000 times louder then the "small" subwoofer!

@bamfan2044 o trust me i did. Thats why i bought a 10" alpine type r. Put it in a sealed box that i built myself and got a mtx jackhammer amp to hook up to my oem headunit. The mtx amp is 1200 watts. Perfect for my 10. better to over power a sub then under power it. O and i got a 10 because i listen to more rock. gives me a tighter kick. thats also why it is in a sealed box. the type r i got has a dual 4 ohm voice coil which allows me to run it as a 2 ohm impedance.

i just bought 1 of dons creations. a 18 inch beyond audio subwoofer. i was told it is called the inhuman. i measured the voice coils resistance and the reading 3 ohms each. (dvc) any help in building a ideal box for it leaning towards sq would be apreciated.

well i know im not the guy you were asking the question but i would like to throw in my opinion while im here. hah. but as for the 4 18's obviously you would have to make the box much bigger and the port would have to be adjusted a little differently... those are obvious though... as for the memphis 4k's i wouldnt get those... they pull way to many amps and just arent worth it.... go with a couple hifonics goliaths or sampsons.
a sealed box does not overall hit harder on the DB,s and ive researched this and had 2 competition teams tell me this thats y i looked into it but yes a ported box is much easier on the subs but does not mean it hits more also when making a proper sealed box you need to look at the specs of that particular sub and each sub must be seperated so they dont push on eachother if you build a correct sealed box it will hit much better
now when you use the term "hit harder" I think of transient response. If that is the reference you're going with, then you are incorrect and a sealed enclosure will prevail. Now if you're just talking about optimizing your output as far efficiency then sure use vented.

I blew my winidshield on my old truck and I couldn't run my system until I got to the shop to replace the glass or I would see little glass shards falling from the sound pressure flexing the window. Hey guy thanks for the comments, the vehicle is still under construction, during testing its up to 158's at 44hz so far. The vehicle is getting some more work this next few months and hopefully a paintjob. Then I will have 2 7K2D's and eleven powermaster D1000 16 volt batteries.

db don.. you around? i need help with my 18 inch beyond audio sub. i want to built a box for my home system. i do not know what hz and speaker box volume i am looking at. i would think 20-25,26, hz ? i would like to build a duel reflex bandpass if possible. they look pimp and go so low.:)

i just bought 1 of dons creations. a 18 inch beyond audio subwoofer. i was told it is called the inhuman. i measured the voice coils resistance and the reading 3 ohms each. (dvc) any help in building a ideal box for it leaning towards sq would be apreciated.

ya i know about them regualor but that's not my style i rather have a high input alternator that will run all my tv's and LEDs etc. preaciate your help but the alternator dont even cost alot.

well i know im not the guy you were asking the question but i would like to throw in my opinion while im here. hah. but as for the 4 18's obviously you would have to make the box much bigger and the port would have to be adjusted a little differently... those are obvious though... as for the memphis 4k's i wouldnt get those... they pull way to many amps and just arent worth it.... go with a couple hifonics goliaths or sampsons.

a sealed box does not overall hit harder on the DB,s and ive researched this and had 2 competition teams tell me this thats y i looked into it but yes a ported box is much easier on the subs but does not mean it hits more also when making a proper sealed box you need to look at the specs of that particular sub and each sub must be seperated so they dont push on eachother if you build a correct sealed box it will hit much better

now when you use the term "hit harder" I think of transient response. If that is the reference you're going with, then you are incorrect and a sealed enclosure will prevail. Now if you're just talking about optimizing your output as far efficiency then sure use vented.

You accualy think a sealed box is louder? yeah ok. You have way more efficientcy With a ported box. Meaning it takes less power to be louder and your using both sides of the sub, not just one.

Busted windshield, lol...That sucks ass! I blew my winidshield on my old truck and I couldn't run my system until I got to the shop to replace the glass or I would see little glass shards falling from the sound pressure flexing the window. Bad ass setup! I know that system is just awesome! Four 9515s are beast!

Hey guy thanks for the comments, the vehicle is still under construction, during testing its up to 158's at 44hz so far. The vehicle is getting some more work this next few months and hopefully a paintjob. Then I will have 2 7K2D's and eleven powermaster D1000 16 volt batteries.
