Salut! J'ai un robovoski, sa fait 7 mois que je l'ai et il ne m'approche jamais est-ce que c'est encore possible de le dresser ou pas ? merci d'avance.
I have a hamster that was tame a while back. The people I got him from said he used to love to be held and cuddled. Would sit on your shoulder. How do I get him back to that state? He is a little jumpy, not real bad though.
@kurt0109 if they run from you then it's best to simply lay your hand in the cage after washing it. You must have a lot of patience while some might come and sniff immidietley and some might take ten - half an hour to come out. Simple lay your hand in their cage every day (or every other day) until they get used to your presence. They shouldn't run too much after. :)
i bought one and somehow it was already tamed even thou it was a BABY. i could hold it and it would not run it would actually come straight to my hand an YES it is a roborovski hammie and Not mixed :3

@OneLastRush Robos are an extremley jumpy, look-but-don't-touch breed of hamster. I won't get one again, that's for sure. But some can be tamed. Keep it up. Giving them treats. Keep doing that. After a while wash your hands thoroughly and put them in the palm of your hand. They may nip at your fingers because you may smell of food. Hence why I told you to wash your hands. Twitch your fingers if they do nip so they know you react to it. Put it in your palm and letem crawl to ta treat
@The1Hamster1 Thanks for replying. I know what you mean. I wouldn't get a robo again either. I mean, they're cute and fast, but I want a hamster I can easily hold. They're a lot different from my past hamsters. Thanks again!
me and my robos have good communication because if I start to irritate them they give my a nibble, not a bite, a nibble on the edge of my finger so it doesn't hurt to tell me to leave them and this is mainly part of this method :)
i did this. the prob is he never sniffs just bites. it really sucks. when i offer him treats he screams at me. idk y he just des. PLZ PLZ PLZPLZPLZPLZPLZPLZ help me!!
@missemma00 I am so sorry for not getting to your comment earlier. Youtube didn't notify me. Anyways... hmm.... sounds like a complicated ham ham. Well, there isn't much to suggest. Leave him alone (I bet you already have been) for a week. Then try resting your hand (fingers down) into the cage. If he sniffs good if he bites... take ur hand out. keep doing this but if he repeats biting you then try the bathtub method. I am going to make a video on it in a little bit. :)
i think you have a really good chance of taming this one! it actually went on your hand! so don't give up. you need different methods, i think you were too pushy in this. put some of its bedding in that lil box, and get rid of that bowl. you should try to tame your hamster with treats, eg sunflower seeds. if it doesn't accept it at first, that's normal, put it on the ground and let it eat it, it'll know it's getting the food from you :)
@hamsterz38 Actually no. Complete opposite. He's gotten worse. Last night he got out of my hands and I had to chase him across my room into my closet. But he is unlike most robo hammies. He's just stubborn.

i have 2 robo hamsters but if you put your hand on top of the hamster to catch it and gently pic it up cup your hand and put your thumbs on top

i think you have a really good chance of taming this one! it actually went on your hand! so don't give up. you need different methods, i think you were too pushy in this. put some of its bedding in that lil box, and get rid of that bowl. you should try to tame your hamster with treats, eg sunflower seeds. if it doesn't accept it at first, that's normal, put it on the ground and let it eat it, it'll know it's getting the food from you :)
