@CBSEye Trust me Jersey Guy I could not have afforded to buy a microphone this expensive either. When I stepped down from running the sound and video for my Church after 30 years the Church bought this mic for me. As you might imagine I was thrilled.

@CBSEye Thank you so much Jersey Guy for stopping by again. I have loved this little song since I first heard it as a kid. The microphone is a 1947 year model. It is an RCA 74B Ribbon Mic. It was the least expensive of the RCA Ribbon Mic's made between 1936 and the mid 1950's. The models 44 and 77 are far better mics but are FAR more expensive to purchase now. The last 74B that I saw sold on ebay went for around $800. That seems to be the fair going rate for one of these in top condition.
