  • @wannabe4everyoung1 there you go!

  • to be an nurse in the army do u have to go through boot camp like basic training or do physical training?? if so, how much?

  • @stargirl1360 physical training. In one of my 3 army videos I talk about it.

  • Do you have a facebook?

  • @Ladyjaybug I do, but I don't really use it.

  • this was soo cool and inspirational

  • @Crystalbeauty101 thank you!

  • i look up to you so much!! i want to be a nurse in the army just like you. You are such an inspiration to me i hope that one day i can be like you.. so i have a question. ive been in college for a year and a half now, i have about 17 credits and will be continuing to go. by the end of next semester, i am hoping to have about 3o credits hopefully... so do you have to have an associates or bachelors before you join the army? sorry if it's a dumb question..

  • @xxLoveMe02 thank you so much for your kind words! There are no stupid questions! So, you have to have your bachelor's to be active duty.. I'm not sure how accurate this still is, but before I joined, as a reservists, you could have your associate's.

  • i have emailed you but no answer yet

  • @GUSSGV I replied!!

  • hi, your video has answered many of my questions but im still wanting to know more, is there any way u can add my facebook page so that i can ask you.

  • @BlessedBeauty901 thank you so much for this video but i got a question i want to be a nurse anesthetist while in the army but i also want to be in college living on the campus how is that going to work out!!!???

  • This video was so HELPFUL thank you so muchh :D

  • @StyleHairMyLife You're welcome!

  • I subbed before even hearing a word, LOL. My husband is doing the OCS route this fall and once I am done with my BSN (nontraditional student here) I will become an officer as well. Thank you for absolutely wonderful videos that help people like me.

  • @Skyetropics lol! thank you so much for your kind words! I wish you and your husband the best! Two officers in the family!! Wooh hooh!!

  • hey(:... what happens to the ppl who dont pass the physical test?

  • @noba70 I will be posting a video today answering your question along with a few others :-)

  • @Renee4christ ok thanx i find your videos very helpful(:

  • k so i was wondering about the physical requirements and stuff...even if u go in as a nurse you still have to go to boot camp, right? i mean that's what i understand...

oh! and what's the difference between the army, airforce, navy, marines? i'm just a bit confused do they all have the same physical requirements and benefits? thanks!(:

  • @beautybox18 Yes, you still have to meet the physical requirements as a nurse. You are not required to go to boot camp, but you go through an officer course where you do physical things and learn how to shoot a weapon, stay in a tent for a couple of weeks in the field and different things to introduce you to the Army basics. It's not nearly as tough as basic training. There are so many differences between all of the branches... the only side I know is the Army.

  • @beautybox18 Basically with the navy, as a nurse you may have to serve on a ship if the sailors are out to sea, but they do have naval hospitals... they also work with the Marines since they (Marines) do not have their own Nurse Corps or hospitals. The Air Force has medical centers as well and you would serve there unless you get into Flight Nursing. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

  • @Renee4christ ooh! ok, thanks this helps a lot! keep up the videos and God bless!(:

  • I'm pretty sure I want to go in air force as a pediatric nurse practicioner ( my dad was in air force for 25 years so I have a connection with air force :) )

  • @hopehunterful Awesome!! How close are you to acheiving your goal?

  • @Renee4christ I am taking a year off then starting nursing school next fall ( Lord willing). But I do have a while library of nursing books to study now too. :)

  • @Tolulope86 It can really become beneficial to you if you have the time to actually work as an LPN while in nursing school and still stay on track. I think it's a great idea, especially since it will give you the experience of working before you graduate and hospitals love hiring new grads with experience! Being an LPN first always gives you the upper hand as an RN! Hope this helps!

  • @Tolulope86 Once again, sorry it took me forever to get back with you! What part of FL are you from? I was born and raised in Orlando and I went to nursing school in Daytona Beach, About the LPN exam... a few of my classmates took the test their junior year and it was beneficial to some. The only thing that can be a little hassle about it is that it can take a while to set everything up, get you licensed, and by that time you only have a couple of semesters or less left, before you graduate...

  • You can't wear Acu scrubs, we had them when we deployed and CONUS in garrison

  • @rcarnes1988 No, not on the floor... I have seen one nurse where the scrubs in the clinc areas. That would be so ideal!!

  • @rcarnes1988 I replied to you from my phone and just saw my response :-) I meant *wear and *clinic

  • Hi Renee!!! Question, why did you choose the army as oppose to navy or air force?

  • @Godzdesign1 The Army just felt right to me and fit me best. They were offering the most in loan repayment, offered the speciality course of public health which is what I want to specialize in, and they just seemed more appealing to me. I think a lot of it had to do with the Army being the largest branch.

  • @Tolulope86 so sorry for the delay! I haven't forgotten about you! I will send you a msg in a few days! Thanks for watching!

  • i graduate in December and I really want to join!!! Thanks for inspiration!!

  • @nikkiherizen200 Congrats to you!!

  • aloha renee!! u seem like a really cool down-to-earth person!! i need your help. i am considering the army nurse corps after i finish my bsn this may...can u pls tell me exactly what to expect in the oblc training? also what is it like being a nurse in the army? do u work the traditional three 12 hour shifts? if not, how many hours do u work a week and what is a 'typical' (if any) work day is like? thank you for your help. your answers will definitely help me w/the decision to join or not...

  • @ccislandgirlcc Hi there! I've been getting a lot of the same questions like your's, so on my next video, I'll answer your questions if that's okay :)

  • I'm in my junior year in high school right now. I know I want a career in the health field but I'm not sure what. After watching your videos, I think you've helped me decide to be an RN for the army :) Thanks

  • @MsMiniyoyo Awesome!!

  • This has piqued my interest a little. I have a lot of student loans from my previous degrees and am having to take out more to pay for my nursing degrees. But I don't know if I could handle being deployed outside of the country (nor could my fiance, lol). My future brother-in-law is in the army (he's based in GA right now) so I guess I could ask him for some info.

  • @criswithnoh Yeah, it's a HUGEE decision to make and you definitely pay back the Army in a different way for taking care of your loans! I'm sure deployment is really hard, but the good thing for nurses, is that it's only for 6 months opposed to some other jobs being 18 months! Let me know if you have any specific questions :)

  • Thanks for the information. I was just wondering how I could pay for all these loans. It would be nice to have a check fall from the sky....lol, but I live in this world.

  • What do you like best, and least, about the military? 3 years? I thought it was 4. How long was your basic training? Are you an officer? I am thinking about it, because I do need help with these loans, but know baby phat uniforms....lol

  • @coloravon For best I would say of course the benefits (pay, vacation, insurance, job stability) the pride I feel wearing the uniform, the army hospital has a different feel to it than any other hospital I've been in. The doctors and nurses seem to really respect each other, especially when both sides are military. I love the unity I feel being in and just the many different opportunities the military offers for... it's really endless. I feel taken care of :)

  • @coloravon For what I like least, it's really the things that kind of just irritate me. I think you'll find that at any job though. I get irritated having to work out all the time, but that's on me because I still need to pass the running portion of my physical fitness test. You are required to do things that maybe you don't want to do, but again that's with any job. On your off days unless you are on leave or have a pass, you can only go so far from the base. it's really not a big deal though.

  • @coloravon Now that I think about it, there's not too many things that I don't like :) lol! You really have to go in open-minded and be prepared to go when you're told and do things that you don't want, but I really think the positives outweigh the negatives in the long run. You get to see the world and have a job that is nearly impossible to lose unless you do something crazy or get really hurt. I encourage you to do your research and see if it's for you, b/c it's definitely not foreveryone.

  • @coloravon Keep me posted :)

  • @coloravon There are different contracts with different terms.. the one I signed up for (loan repayment) is a total of 3 years. An example of another option was the partial loan repayment with an additional sign-on bonus and I believe that was a 5 year committment... it really depends on what they are offering you. Yes, I'm an officer (2 LT). Coming in as an officer, you don't go through basic training, but instead officer basic leadership course and it's for 2 months :)

  • My entire family was in the military. I understand where you are coming from, you go girl : )

  • @nriccaboni Thanks Nacole!! I tagged you in my last video!!

  • @Renee4christ You're too sweet : )
